Traven
Name: Traven
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Skills:
Power Usage: Traven has a lot of power, even more than his brother and father's, but he isn't skilled enough to control it well. He is good at accomplishing large feats, but only because he is used to using a lot of power, so he tends to use energy almost carelessly. All it takes to fix this is practice, but currently, he isn't great at relinquishing small amounts of magic at a time.
Nylid(Na-lih-din) Language: This is basically the same as the Ayleid language, with only a few minor differences in the spelling of a few words. It also holds just as much power as the Ayleid language, but being a full-blooded Nylid, it isn't physically taxing on Traven.
Fighting Ability: Since he was born with a weak body, it was unknown if he would survive or not. Fortunately, he did, but his body was naturally weaker than a normal Nylid, and being a prince, this didn't look good for him, so he had been forced by his father to train his body. Now, his physical strength and speed excels that of most Nylid. He was also taught on how to fight by personal trainers.
Fire: Traven is very skilled in fire. In the Nylid language, fire is known as "pira," and Traven has trained in it ever since he was taken in for training at age eight, earlier than official training for a Nylid with common status.
Race: Full-blooded Nylid
Hair: Spiky white hair. The hair isn't white due to old age; it's just the color he was born with.
Eyes: Red
Home Village: Reath, the Nylid capital.
Parents: King Osis and Queen Marilyn. Both full-blooded Nylid, but they are very busy, so it's not very common for Traven to seem them.
Siblings: His brother, Arath. His brother excels in everything, and has always held King Osis's respect, unlike Traven, who can't control his powers that well. However, Arath has admitted that Traven has more power than he; he just can't control it as well as Arath can.
Personality: Traven, despite being the legitimate heir to the throne, was always shunned to the side as his brother became more and more famous as well as becoming more and more powerful. This made him more and more desperate to prove himself to his family. He has always tried his hardest at anything and has always tried to please his father, but his brother almost always bests him. Of course, his brother is very skilled even though he is only 38 years old, and that makes his father proud. At a council meeting, they were even debating whether or not to ignore the sign of the legitimate heir that was born as a birthmark onto Traven’s skin and simply go with the more powerful and better choice to be king, which would obviously be his brother. The legitimate heir’s sign is a sun that takes place on the heir’s right palm. In the Nylid language, the sign is called the “Jisin.” It had been tradition and it is thought to be necessary that the legitimate heir take the throne, so Traven knew that the council was desperate if they had been thinking about breaking tradition. He was desperate, even scared, and was shocked at his own helplessness; that he was so weak that the Council would think about breaking tradition in order for the stronger brother to take the throne. Becoming stronger than his brother is what drives him, so that he can unarguably take his rightful place on the throne. Thus, he has traveled to Alagaesia in search for the last Ayleid, Servix.
History: When Traven was born, the Nylid rejoiced since he had the Jisin on his right palm, and therefore was prophesied to take the throne after his father. Legitimate heirs are supposed to be stronger than even the most powerful Nylid. This is because of two reasons: They are trained earlier than other Nylid, and, the Jisin is supposed to increase their power. However, it seemed to be the opposite for Traven. His body was weak when he was born, and skilled magicians had to heal Traven and even give him some of their own life force so that he could live. Embarrassed, King Osis had wanted nothing to do with Traven, until he saw the Jisin on Traven's right palm. He had gained some of his hope back, but he had forced Traven to train extensively almost to the point to where his overused his muscles and ruined his body. Luckily, it didn't go that far, and Jisin achieved great speed and strength. However, then there was the issue of his magic, which required yet more training. Traven holds a lot of power despite his father thinking differently. He just doesn't have the best control over it. Then came the war. At only seven years old, Traven couldn't play a part in it, and he only remembers a few things on what happened. However, the Nylid being his family, he strongly supported them in the struggle. It was a very violent war that involved all of Cerudin, but the Nylid won in the end, and all of the Ayleid were exterminated. Well, almost. One had escaped. When the last two Ayleid, the only ones left known to the Nylid, had tried to escape, one had teleported the other out of danger. They killed that one, and scoured all of Cerudin, searching for the last Ayleid. They never found him, and King Osis was convinced that the Ayleid must have been teleported to a different land. Convinced of this, he planned several search parties in order to search the other lands. Traven volunteered happily, and was given several other Nylid under his service. If he proves himself in this, Traven just might unarguably become the heir to the throne. At age 26, he and his search party have arrived in Alagaesia. Uncaring to the war around them, they immediately began searching for the Ayleid.
Weapons: He fights with red dual swords smithed to him by one of the best smiths of Cerudin. They are very durable and a weapon of the smith hasn't broken yet, so it's unlikely that these ever will.
Likes: Proving himself
Dislikes: The thought that his brother may become the king.
Weakness/Fear: That he can't find the Ayleid and that he will never prove himself.
Animal Companions: None
Physical Appearance: Traven, unlike when he was a baby, is muscular and very toned as of now. He has spiky white hair and red eyes. He stands directly at six feet. He wears light, gold-plated armor that arches in the back. And of course, he bears the symbol of a legitimate heir, a Jisin, on his right palm. The Jisin glows brightly whenever he uses powerful magic.
Dreams: To find the final Ayleid, kill him, and become king.
Reasons for Dreams: It's the role he believes he was destined for.
Alignment/Side: Neither. He is only interested in finding the Ayleid.
Other: In case you guys haven't noticed, Servix is the Ayleid he is searching for.
