We can't really use the too old and too young age thing. We don't know elven age standards. You could be accepted as an adult when you are 100 years old as an elf, but older elves may consider you as still childish. We haven't learned alot about that yet.

Also, back in that time 14 year olds were marrying to 30 year olds.

but this is a bit different than a 14 year old marrying a 30 year old. this a an elf over one hundred years being in love with a sixteen year old. The thing is a first crush can be mistaken for love and eragon has never had a crush before this as far as we know. I'm not saying that he didn't have a crush on her but im saying that its highly unlkely that she has any feeling for him other than a strong friendship.

1 problem is that love is crazy anything can happen. N CP has to sum it all up, last book: maybe Arya falls in love with sum 1 else we know that she was in love b4 she met eragon, maybe she dies who knows. Nything can happen when sum1 is in love or is obsessed or thinks they r in love.

i dnt think arya loves eragon now i think tht she will fall in love with him though in the third book. she may have sed she does not love eragon in the AL but she could lie, because brom told eragon tht elves could say 1 thing and mean something else, nd tht they can create loop holes in the system

Arya already does love eragon, she loves him like one loves a best friend, or a brother. When we look at the riders so far so few have found true love, and none that i know has ended happily. Oromis is alone. Brom ended up alone , maybe he did love selena but it ended in tradgedy. Maybe eragon is doomed like the rest to be alone.

Arya loving Eragon already, love i don't think so - has feelings? Prehaps. She clearly cares for him but whether we can consider her feelings towards him the same as he does for her i'm not sure. I have some evidence to support she does:

Look at it this way, you can't believe that Murtagh will ever go against Gallbatorix if you don't think Arya can change what she said. One thing keeps coming back to me as a quote in eragon, about elves being able to tie up their feelings for a long time. I have no certainty either way and I wont speculate, but think about it for those of you who think that they will break the ancient language for Murtagh but not Arya.

I think she does love him... because I was reading the eldest and in page 89 Angela says to Eragon that even if elves don't show their emotions, it doesn't mean that they don't feel anger or paisson just like the other people, is the way they hide their fellings, sometimes for years... so i think it's possible that she likes him and she's just hiding their feelings....Just a thought.
