OOC .::. This one is only for me and gomenesigh.

Zeta walked forward on light feet that touched the ground with nearly no sound. It was unfamiliar terrain for him; he did not usually go anywhere near the coast, but now he was above Narda, near the edge of the spine and walking towards the coast. He did not know very much what he was exactly doing. Of late, he had felt more alone and devoid of thought than ever. Events around him passed and he hardly noticed them.

As he walked on, he saw a great arrangement of figures slowly walking towards him along the trail. He could sense they were all soldiers of the Empire. Something troubled him, however. Among their ranks, he sensed a strange power, and he could not quite figure out what or who it could be. Deciding it would be better to hide himself, he quickly ran to the right of the trail, among trees and shrubs until he knew they completely hid him from the soldiers.

Post Re: Rising From the Past
Saphi could feel her body moving at a fast pace but she knew that it was not her legs that carried her. She shifted her body and the movement stopped. She was set on the ground and as soon as she was she felt a small pain flare inside her. She winced but opened her eyes and looked around before finding her brother kneeling beside her. He smiled but it was almost a sad smile and he looked at the lower half of her body. Since they had both left Vroenguard, she had barely been able to stay conscious and she didn't know exactly what had happened to her while in Crimson's possession. She followed Draerr's gaze and then knew what had pained her. She knew Crimson was cruel but she did not think he would be so low as to let her be violated in such a way. She looked back into her brother's eyes and could feel herself fill with a great sadness. She leaned forward and wrapped her arms around him and they both sat there in each others embrace. She had tried to be strong but before she knew it, tears were running down her face and she could feel her brother pull her into his lap. They sat there in that way while she cried and her brother holding her close. He made a small movement and placed a hand on her shoulder. She heard him speak but didn't understand the word and she looked up at him. He was looking into the distance and she followed his gaze. There was a small group of figures walking along the narrow path coming towards them. She immediately stood up and the pain flared again and she though she would fall down. Her brother was instantly at her side and had her scooped up before she could react. She looked up at him to protest but they were already on the move to thick shrubbery to hide until the group had moved on.

Draerr moved swiftly and silently along the coast, carrying his sister, Saphi, in his arms. After being separated from her for a very long time, they had finally been reunited but at a grave cost. They had met again on the island of Vroenguard and they both had made new allies but also new enemies. They met Crimson and his dragon who captured his sister and allowed his soldiers to rape her while she was incapacitated. Their new found allies separated and now Draerr was taking his sister somewhere safe where he could heal her as best he could. He felt Saphi move a little in his arms and stopped to put her down. They were on the edge of the coast where sand met dirt but still had a soft texture. He lightly set her down and he knelt beside her, keeping a steady hand on her shoulder. He watched as she slowly opened her eyes and looked around before locking eyes with him. He tried to give her a positive smiled but it wavered as he looked down at her. His sister was suddenly embracing her and he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into his lap. They sat there and he held her while she cried. His mind was wandering and he suddenly felt a strange power coming towards them. He immediately closed his mind and looked around until he saw a small force coming generally to them. He put a hand on his sister's shoulder.

"Saphi," He said quietly, not moving his gaze. He could see her head move out of the corner of his eye and she was standing up seconds later. He stood up with her, just in time and acted as her support when her balance faltered. He picked her up and ran to find the nearest cover. He set her down a little ways in the nearby trees under a large bush. They stayed there on their stomachs with his arm over her protectively until the soldiers left.

Zeta watched as the soldiers passed by until he heard a small rustle in some bushes that were only a few feet away from him. Confused, he looked over, but he couldn't see whoever was there just as they couldn't see him. Standing up from his crouching position, he slowly walked over, a hand on his sword, ready in case whatever was hiding here was hostile. As he rounded the corner of the bush, he saw two figures sitting there, apparently hiding like him. They were both elves, one male and the other female. The female one seemed off somewhat, as if in a weakened condition. Not sure what was going on, he merely stayed quiet as he saw them.

Post Re: Rising From the Past
As soon as the group passed them, which she were soldiers, she sat up and let out a long sigh that she didn't know she had been holding. She sat on the ground but that sent another rush of pain through her. She felt her brother move beside her but she did not look at him yet. She changed her position to sitting on her knees and looked around her. She was glad to be among the trees after setting foot on that deserted island. She breathed in the smell of the fresh leaves falling and the bush that was next to her. Her brother moved close to her and wrapped his arm around her waist. It was only then that she realized she was shaking. She leaned into his side and looked at him, hiding the emotions in her eyes. Her body and soul ached but she knew if she could be strong than her brother would be strong with her. Seconds later we were both on our feet and Draerr was standing in front of Saphi in a defensive position, his arms where she couldn't see them. Fear rose inside her as she could only think of the worst possible thing. Crimson had sent someone back to capture them. She tried to look around him but he moved as she did so she could not get a good look at whoever or whatever was there.

After the soldiers passed, he watched as his sister got up and could see the pain on her face. His heart was filled with anger and he knew that one day soon he would make Crimson pay for what he did. He watched his sister as she looked around them and saw her start to shake. He moved close to her and wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her close. He looked down at her and gave her a smile and kissed her on the forehead. He move his gaze to the trees nearby and saw a figure standing some distance away from them. His sister seemed to be oblivious to him like she was with the soldiers. He pulled his sister up off the ground and moved in front of her, balling up his fists and getting in a fighting stance. He kept his sister behind him. He didn't know who this person was, but he would protect his sister at all costs.

As he looked closer, he could tell that something was definitely wrong with the girl, and her companion seemed very protective of her. They did not seem like they meant anyone harm at all. "It's okay... I'm not trying to hurt you," he said quietly. "But I don't know... you two look like you could use some help. I could offer it," he added, still in a quiet voice that sounded like he had a world of worries on his mind. He looked over at the soldiers to make sure they still weren't visible and their location would not be found out before looking back at the troubled companions.

Saphi struggled to get around her brother when she finally got both hands on his side and gave him a hard push. It was enough for him to stumble and she was able to get around him to see who was with them. She didn't look at him long, just enough to get his image in her head. He looked taller than her but not by a lot and very masculine features. She suddenly started to feel uncomfortable and wrapped her arms around her and took a few steps back. Her brother came over to her and she stood close to him half hiding herself behind him. This man didn't look threatening but there are more than enough people that would be deceiving to get what they wanted. She just wasn't sure. She didn't trust him and she had no reason not to but she hardly trusted herself much less others. She hid her face next to her brother as the man spoke. This man sounded worried but she didn't know what his real plan was and wasn't sure she wanted to find out.

Draerr felt a strong shove that sent him staggering and when he regained his balance, Saphi was standing almost in front of him. He knew she instantly regretted it. She covered herself up but for some reason, he paused going to her. She stood still and so did the newcomer and then she took a couple steps back. That is when he went to her and pulled her close, to keep her safe. he turned his attention to this new person and looked him over. He didn't seen dangerous. If Crimson had sent him he didn't think he would have waited like this or tried to gain their trust but he still wasn't entirely sure.

"I don't know what you mean by help, stranger, but this isn't really something that can be fixed," he said and the more he said the lower his voice became. He looked away from him and held his sister tighter, thinking in the back of his mind that if he let her go he would never see her again.

Zeta looked down at them for another moment before saying, "Yes, I suppose it's not. If you really can't use me for any help at all, then I guess I could just leave. I should have known better than to try to help others when I can't even help myself," he said a little bitterly. A strange anger flared inside him, and he felt it hard to suppress it. Nothing seems worth it anymore, he thought to himself finally, and started to walk away and to towards the soldiers.

Saphi watched the elf and was filled with a sudden sadness. The elf had only been trying to help and she did not mean to offend him. She followed his steps with her gaze and saw the soldiers in his path down the path. She gasped and stepped out from behind her brother.

"Wait!" She cried out and in a couple fast steps closed the distance between them coming just out of arms reach. She reached out to stop him but instantly stopped and dropped her arm.

"I'm sorry for us... We did not mean to offend you. We have both been out of sorts and there was a very evil man in the area not long ago. We thought you were here with him... we thought... that you were here to take us back..." She trailed off with her head down and her hair hiding her face as tears streamed down it.

Draerr watched as his sister moved around him to stop the newcomer. He looked away as he heard her talk and knew that what he said had been wrong. He didn't mean what he had said.. he just didn't want his sister to get hurt.

Zeta stopped as he heard the girl cry out for him to stop. He knew that she was right behind her, and sensed, somehow, that she was crying, but he did not turn around. A strange feeling came over him, but he could not tell whether it made him happy or even more sad. Somehow, hearing her voice had frozen him into place and he could not quite understand why. His hand suddenly moved, and the spell was broken; he could move freely once more. Feeling a bit pathetic for having shown his emotions so bitterly in front of strangers, he turned around and, a bit tentatively yet tenderly put a hand to her face, meaning to wipe away her tears with his finger but not sure if she would recoil at his touch. "Whatever happened to you... I'm sorry. But no, I'm not with that person, and I mean you no harm. I don't know if you can believe me, but I don't want any harm to fall upon you."

Saphi looked up and watched as the man went to touch her face. Her eyes flinched but her body remained perfectly still waiting for the pain that she expected. When none came she relaxed against his hand and gave a small smile as one last tear fell down her face. Just that small touch sent her heart fluttering and she looked away as a small blush came to her face.

"I do believe that you mean no harm," she said quietly and she did truly believe him but she didn't know why, "and I'm glad that you didn't go.. it would have been a terrible to go to the soldiers like that."

The thought of himself going to the soldiers filled her with a strange sadness that she was unfamiliar with so she tried to brush it off for the time.

Draerr looked on at his sister and this new man. He went and reached for her and he took a silent step to protect his sister. When his sister did not draw back he stopped his movements. He watched for a few seconds later and slipped away unnoticed to secure the surroundings and make sure no one could find them.

Seeing the smile on the girl's face caused a feeling that he could not quite describe, but it made him very happy, and a feeling of protectiveness stole over him. When he saw her blush, he could not help but smile himself a little. "Let's go with your brother," he said after a bit of not being able to stop looking at her. "We need to find a way to go around those soldiers. Oh, and..." He was going to ask her for her name, but he was not sure if that was pushing her trustworthiness a little too far. "Well my name is Zeta," he ended up saying.

Saphi looked back at him and his smile made her happy. She stood there looking up at him until his voice broke the silence saying, "Let's go with your brother." She lingered for a moment not wanting to break contact but turned her head to find her brother not behind her anymore. She turned fully looking around to find him. The man announced that his name was Zeta and she turned around and smiled a little more. "My name is Saphi and my brother is Draerr. It's really nice to meet you." She said before turning to find her brother a short distance away watching the soldiers and went to him to see what he had learned.

Draerr watched as the soldiers marched by but one of the men on the horses seemed to be lingering around not wanting to move on. The man called out to the soldiers and they stopped as he dismounted and went to a man near the middle of the group. He didn't need to know who the man was before going to join the others. They were making their way over to him but he ushered them further away from the soldiers before whispering in a low voice, "It seems they have caught onto us somehow. We don't have much time before they come into the woods looking for us and we must hurry away."

Zantos grew alarmed immediately upon hearing Draerr's words. "We have to go completely in the opposite direction if we want to avoid them for now, but as soon as we come out of the woods, no matter which way we go, they'll see us, because their numbers stretch out farther than these strips of trees go."

As they started to move away, he murmured inaudible spells to remove every trace that they had been there, including sounds, disturbed branches or leaves, footprints, and even odors. He had been trained mainly for stealth and knew that there had to be a way of avoiding contact with the soldiers, but for some reason he could not quite clear his head. All he knew was that he wanted to be able to protect Saphi, no matter what happened, and when he realized this he almost surprised himself. He did not remember the last time he had cared for anyone like this had been.

Draerr kept his sister close putting her between him and Zantos. He kept his face firm and without emotion as they move to the other side. He clenched his fists as he could hear the soldiers at the edge of the woods. He grabbed his sisters arm and gave a little tug to hurry her along.

Saphi stumbled through the woods as they rushed through to the opposite side. She didn't know what would happen but she did know that she didn't want to leave his brother or Zantos. She didn't understand why she wanted him to stay but she just did. Her body still hurt and she wasn't sure if she could handle running at a fast pace from these soldiers. She looked at Draerr as he pulled at her arm and she stumbled and fell. Pain seared between her legs and her body shook violently.

"Wait wait," She said in a breathy voice, "I can't move this fast it hurts..." She stopped and tried to get back up her legs shaking. She put her hand over her and could feel blood but she tried to make her face emotionless and walked to the other two. It was slow but it was all she could do.

OOC .::. Damn, hella big typo lol. His name is Zeta and I put Zantos.

IC .::. Zeta looked down at Saphi as she stumbled forwards and fell to the ground. Something inside him flinched upon seeing her so hurt, but he also knew that they had little time to spare. "If you'll let me, I can carry you," he said to her softly. "I won't drop you, and I'll probably be able to carry you faster than you can walk. If you don't want me to, however, it's fine," he added.

IC: Draerr looked back at his sister and was filled with a sudden sadness. He knew how hurt she was and he felt so useless. He gave a short glare to the back Zeta. He didn't fully trust this man yet but he knew that he wouldn't be able to get his sister away fast enough if he would carry her.

Saphi looked from Zeta to his brother. She saw the glare he gaze but kept her face blank. She turned back to Zeta and gave a small smile.

"I wouldn't want to trouble you. Carrying me might drag you down... but I don't think I can run I can barely walk.. I think I might need you to," She said and her legs began to shake more. She took a few more steps before stumbling over herself and falling to a knee breathing hard. She suddenly felt even more tired and struggled to stand back up before giving them a small smile.

Zantos felt a bit uneasy with Saphi's brother, for he didn't seem very fond of him just yet. Choosing to ignore him for now, however, he quickly strode over to her as soon as she dropped to one knee. Smiling back at her, he said in her ear very softly, "Try to hold on." Right after saying this, he picked her up and lifted her off the ground, cradling her in his arms and then looking out once more. He turned to Draerr, not knowing how much he approved of this but hardly caring. "Let's move out again," he said.

His protectiveness rose, and he wished more than anything to be able to keep Saphi safe. At the same time, there was an undeniable sense of happiness at being able to hold her so close to him, and he could not quite explain why it was.

IC: Draerr watched as Zeta picked up his sister and watched her reaction. A few seconds later their minds connected and her emotions gave him peace. He did not know what it was his sister felt but it relaxed him and allowed for him to focus on the soldiers and getting out of these woods. He nodded when Zeta spoke and set of at a jogging pace toward the edge of the woods.

Saphi closed her eyes as Zeta picked her up to lessen the dizziness affect of her body moving into the air. She wrapped her arms around him when she was settled and cleared her mind. At his first touch her heart started racing she didn't have the faintest idea why. She knew her brother was worried and she quickly opened her mind to him flooding her emotions between the two. This unmistakable happiness, the confusion it caused her, and her sense of safety. She could sense him relax and closed her mind. There might be magic users with those men and they all had to be careful. Without thinking, she rested her head against but instantly drew away after realizing what she had done. The action sent her head spinning and the tension sent a small pain through her and caused her grip to loosen. Not as bad as the last time but bad enough that she involuntary made a small gasp. She wrapped her arms tighter, letting out steady breaths until she was able to focus her mind again. She gripped Zeta tight and prepared for the long run that was ahead.

Zeta felt Saphi wrap her arms around him tight and then tighter after a while, and this combined with the short time when she rested her head on his chest seemed to make his happiness at being able to protect her rise, but he still could not quite be sure why it was. He felt himself suddenly feel lucky that he had come across her and despite their situation, he could not help but smile.

After a short run, they were out of the foliage of the small forest, and, he knew, within the possible range of the soldiers' sight. "We have to keep moving as fast as we can. Hopefully by the time the soldiers see us, they'll think that we're too far to be worth their trouble."

Draerr nodded and took a brief second to look back at where they had come. The soldiers had not reached the edge of the forest but they had to time to spare and he sped up his pace. They were soon far away before he heard shouting behind him and he looked back to see a small mass of people at the forest edge but it was very far away. He assumed they were coming after them and he looked back at Zeta with a serious look, a small amount of fear in his eyes.

Saphi held onto Zeta tighter, the running jarring her. She kept her eyes closed, even the one time they stopped and somehow during that she had laid her head back on him and hadn't moved it. She focused on listening to his heartbeat and that combined with how close she was to him, made her smile. She knew she shouldn't because they were being chased and this was not a good situation but she just couldn't help it. She listened to his heart speed up the more they ran and relaxed in his arms.

Zeta gave Draerr a reassuring look as they continued their prolonged run to try and evade the Empire's forces. Carrying Saphi the whole time was taking its toll, for at times he felt his legs become leaden and almost too tired to keep going. Feeling her so close to him, though, he had no desire to stop. He was ready to do everything he could to keep her safe. The soldiers were now very small figures in the distance, but as they sped along, he could not shake off the strange feeling that they were being followed.

They continued to run, with very few breaks, until the sun got low overf the horizon and eventually disappeared. "Come on, we should rest for the night. If everything went as planned, we should be safe now."

Draerr nodded at Zeta and they continued for the rest of the day. They stopped when the sun was heading low and he settled himself down for the night. His breathing was hard and he went down on his knees, his legs sore. They didn't dare make a fire and so he sat in the darkness waiting. He waited until his eyes were adjusted and saw small shrubs around them. They looked weak and dying but they were still there.

"We should probably sleep in shifts just in case they are following us still or some other trouble arises. I can go first and then we switch in a few hours."

Saphi got out of Zeta's arms and went to her knees. She had felt such happiness at being in his arms but now she was so sad. He would be so tired now and even tomorrow if they had to run more. She looked around and saw the plants. They could not help her much but anything would be better than nothing. While the others slept she planned on healing herself as much as she could without taking too much energy.

"No," She said after her brother, Both of you ran and I am not nearly as tired as the two of you and I can stay awake for more hours. I will go first and then switch out with one of you."

She looked at the two of them in turn. They didn't have time to argue and she was not going to. She closed her eyes and focused on the earth around her. She could feel drips of water around her and she dug a small hole in front of her. She used her energy and filled the hole with water and ushered at the other two to come drink. After the two of them she drank the little that was left and released the released her energy. She didn't wait for the other two and made herself comfortable facing the direction they had come, focusing her attention to the distance.

Post Re: Rising From the Past
Zeta felt quite a bit tired after the day's run, but he tried his best to show no sign of it as he settled down for the night. He was not sure how comfortable he felt about Saphi taking the watch, but she seemed determined, so he decided to let her take it. However, he realized right after he settled down to sleep that he was going to find it very difficult to be able to sleep knowing that Saphi was by herself. He tried to not worry about her, but the more he tried the more he worried. He was not able to fall asleep, and he did not know whether Draerr did, so he decided to go next to Saphi. "Hello... I'm sorry, but I can't really sleep. So if it's okay with you, I'll just stay here with you?"

Draerr sighed at her sister but did not argue. She was right, they didn't have time to argue and so he just let her be. He stretched out on his back putting his hands under his head and soon drifted off into sleep.

Saphi was already beginning to drift off into her own mind as she heard Draerr fell asleep. This was really the first alone time she had had since... the day she was hurt even though she wasn't truly alone. She shifted her sitting position until she found one that wasn't uncomfortable ending up sitting on her knees. She placed a hand on her lower stomach and drew a small amount of energy from her bracelet watching it glow. She muttered an almost in auditory healing spell and felt relief flow through her. It wasn't completely healed, but it was better. She jumped as Zeta moved to sit next to her and nodded when he asked to join her. They stayed in silence for several minutes. Her heart started racing when he moved next to her and having him there just seemed to make all her troubles disappear for the moment. She looked back on the entire day and one thing that he had said had bothered her.

She thought about for a little while longer before turning her head, not looking at him straight on and asked, "I don't mean to pry, but earlier you said I should have known better than to try to help others when I can't even help myself. What did you mean by that? If you don't mind me asking."

Zeta thought back, trying to remember what he had said. "Oh, that. I think you heard me wrong, I said that about myself, not you. I should have known better than to help you when I can't even... carry out my own tasks. But all of that doesn't seem as important anymore. It was like... I lost a sense of my life... and somehow, I'm gaining it back. Forgive me if it bothers you that I say this, but I'm thinking that it's probably... because of you."

He said this last part in a bit of a rushed manner, and in the darkness he hoped some of his embarrassment at having spoken so openly would not show.

Saphi had turned her face forward when he had started talking but she turned her head to look back at him with wide eyes at the last part of his sentence. A small blush rushed to her face as she really took in what he said and she turned her face hoping the night would hide it from him. She took several moments to think about what he had said before she shifted ever so slightly moving barely centimeters closer to him. She hoped he hadn't noticed and just thought of it as her shifting her weight.

It's strange you say that because it's been the same with me," She said in a hushed tone, "Ever since that day.. I've felt so lost and out of place, but today has been so different. It just feels like it's because I'm.. with you.." She turned her head to the side and away from him hiding the blush that was growing stronger with ever passing minute and sat down to pull her knees hugging herself tight as a cold night breeze blew by.

Zeta listened attentively, and as he heard her voice and realized what he was saying, somehow, his redness started to recede. Instead of embarrassed, he started to feel a bit more happy and comfortable with himself.

"I... didn't think you felt that way," he finally said after some time of silence. He had noticed her shifting weight and suddenly decided to move closer himself, until he was sitting right next to her. He took her hand in his, hoping she wouldn't draw away, and looked into her eyes, feeling a strange mixture of happiness and passion which he had not felt in a long time. The night seemed to have a beautiful, bluish glow to it. "I don't know what happened to you... but if you let me stay with you, I'll never let anyone hurt you again."

Saphi stared into his eyes, the blush on her face brighter than ever. She squeezed his hand and could feel her heart flutter. In that one moment everything seemed to disappear around her. She was no longer cold and instead a strange warmth filled her emanating from her heart. The soldiers or anyone else who wanted to harm them seemed irrelevant and all she could do was think about Zeta.

"I would very much like that," She said in almost a whisper.

Zeta looked at Saphi, unable to stop the warm, melting feeling that was happening inside of him. It was a bit strange for him to feel this way; he had been absent of company for a very long time now. But somehow, Saphi had broken some kind of barrier that he felt he had formed around himself. Not only broken it, but penetrated inside himself, too. A great happiness overcame him when he heard her words, and he smiled softly at her. He put an arm around her and drew her close to him, closing his eyes for a moment as he grew accustomed to having the warmth of another body next to him.

Draerr silently stirred and sat up looking around him. His sister and Zeta were sitting next to each other in a sort of embrace. He sat in silence and watched, not wanting to disturb them. So many horrible things had happened to them both and he did not want to take any kind of happiness away from her.

Saphi looked at zeta and smiled at him when he smiled. Seeing that made her feel something she had never felt before. She had never felt any kind of emotion like this for someone else and it seemed so foreign to her. She leaned into him as he pulled her close and let out a small happy sigh. She was content and warm and happy in that moment and she wished it could last a lifetime.

Zeta slowly started to lose his acknowledgement of their surroundings. All he could think about was Saphi, and their troubles seemed lost somewhere far, far away.

But then, suddenly, an arrow whizzed out of the darkness and embedded itself in the center of the tree, right above their heads. Everything seemed to happen slowly at first, then sped up to frightening proportions. More arrows came their way and Zeta had to stop them with magic, but he still could not see their assailants. Then, suddenly, an overwhelmingly strong magical presence came over him, and as he heard rustilings all around he suddenly realized that they were surrounded. He did not know what the powerful force among these soldiers was, but he could tell that it was the one that spoke the next words.

"You are all surrounded, and it would be best if you surrendered right now... that is, if you want to have any chance of living."

Draerr rolled to the side as an arrow flew past him and he got up in a fighting stance. Looking around, he couldn't see any assailants. Soon after more arrows moved past him, a loud voice spoke telling them to surrender. He ran up to the other side of his sister gently grabbing her arm. She didn't respond to his touch and she seemed to be lost. His heart filled with a sudden anger and sadness. He knew that even if he had to get hurt, he would do anything to keep his sister from getting hurt again.

Looking at Zeta, she felt completely at ease until everything was disrupted. arrows whizzed past her and she looked around at the darkness around her. There was no one to be seen but she knew they were there. A powerful magic came over her and she was frozen in place. Her heart sped up and she was filled with a sudden dread, a sudden immensely powerful fear. Her breathing stopped and all she could do was look out into the dark, not focusing on anything.

OOC .::. I'm sorry! I could have sworn I posted something about me leaving for a while! :/

Zeta's mind raced. He had no idea what this presence could be or how dangerous it was. But right now, the fact that he could not see it was placing both him and Saphi at risk. He spoke out, "Do whatever you want with me, but leave the others to go."

The voice replied, "No. You all come with me, now."

Zeta cursed under his breath. "Who are you? I swear to you, I will do anything you ask of me, as long as you let these two go."

There was a small pause.

"Very well. The other two may leave without harm. You will accompany me on the rest of our journey."

Just leave without me, he told Saphi. I promise you, I'll find a way to escape.

OOC: xD It's alright lol I hey haven't been too active on here either, but welcome back!

IC: Draerr looked at Zeta with a frown. They had only recently met this man but he knew that he had to get his sister away. He had to find out who this man was and he had to find out how many others were with him. He reached over and placed a hand on Zeta's shoulder and squeezed.

"We will be back for you," he said in a low voice, "We will not let you be prisoner to whoever this man is. You have my word on this." He grabbed his sister and threw her over his shoulder, not even giving her a chance to object and without a second look, he took off into the night.

As soon as she heard Zeta's words she snapped out of whatever trance she had been in but her brother spoke soon after and she couldn't believe that he was agreeing to this. She turned back to Zeke but her brother threw her over his shoulder. She started to thrash but he was already running.

"Stop!" She cried out to her brother and she pounded on his back. "We can't leave him here. We can't just leave him here to be captured!" She could feel the tears form in her eyes but all she could do was look back at Zeta as he vanished into the distance.

OOC .::. thanks haha (:

Zeta let two men grab his arms and pull him back onto an elevated surface of what seemed to be wood. He could not tell what it was, but it seemed to be made of wood. All of a sudden, the great presence of power overcame him, pressing down on every part of his body. He seemed to be on the same platform where the strange being was being carried. He knew that if he acted quickly he could escape, but he needed to give Draerr more time to get away with Saphi. He was not even sure how he would be able to find them afterwards. Draerr had given his word to come back, but he would much prefer to get away on his own than place them in any more danger than they were.

"Who are you?" he asked finally to the powerful presence.

As it spoke, he was completely immobilized; every muscle in his body had become completely paralyzed. "I am a creation of pure power, and we are headed to where we can harness even more of it. Someone like you could be useful. We'll need the powerful blood as fuel."

Draerr kept running with only one thing on his mind. 'Get Saphi out of here,' he repeated in his head like a mantra. He could feel his back become sore from her pounding and the sound of her desperate cries made his heart ache. He kept running until he was out of breath and his legs were about to cave in. He took a quick glance behind him and could see nothing. No followers, no attackers, and no Zeta. He knew they were completely alone and he turned his attention back in front of him and pulled his strength to keep running until they made it over a small hill. Out of breath and tired, he set his sister down in front of him and held onto her arms for support. As soon as she was down, she began pounding him more. All he could do was whisper to her in an attempt to calm her down but his words had no affect. With some effort, he pulled her to him and wrapped her in his arms as he heard her cry.

Saphi could only watch as Zeta was restrained and captured. She could feel a new sorrow fill her heart and all she wanted to do was go back and help him. She struggled in her brother's grip and kicked at him and pounded her fists into his back. She made a desperate attempt to tell him to stop and turn around but nothing she did made any difference. He kept running, and soon she couldn't make him out in the dark anymore. There was no one behind them but he would not stop running. Soon the only thing that could be heard were her frantic cries, his rhythmical running and the breathing that he had fallen into with pace. At last he had finally stopped and she was soon on the ground in front of him. She began mercilessly pounding at him again and yelled with a hoarse voice that sounded more like a croak. He grabbed her arms and spoke in a soft voice but the words didn't even register in her mind. He soon pulled her close to him and all she could do was let the tears run down her face. She became weak and she could feel her brother try to keep them both up but after some time the both fell to the ground and sat their with each other.

Post Re: Rising From the Past
Zeta struggled to free himself from the great, oppressive power that kept him glued in position, listening to the entity's speech, which sounded like it reverberated all around his ears in a dark, echoing voice. "Let me go," he said, struggling to move his lips. The entity did not answer, nor did it relent in its hold over him. He slowly found he had the ability to clench and unclench his fists.

Struggling against the same, oppressive power, he reached into his mind and fought to tap into his magic reserves. It was like going through wall and wall of powerful resistances. He did not know how long he lasted in this stage. It could have been five minutes or several days. But suddenly, he was able to pull free of the force. He started upright, drew his sword, and jumped off the carriage, launching fireballs in every direction of the soldiers. The entity did not seem to be able to be bothered to move itself, but rather, sent two strange humanoid figures from inside of it towards him. They looked like clones of himself, except they had no face or other features, just shapes in the form of a red and black pulsating energy. He quickly took off running from the caravan, who did not go after him. Apparently they believed these strange clones would be enough to take care of him and bring him back. Now, he did not know what to do. He wanted to find Saphi, but he didn't want to bring these two potentially dangerous clones towards her either.

Draerr kept hold of his sister until he heard her crying soften until it was almost stopped completely. He lifted his head to look around and sighed as he could see the orange glow of the rising sun in the distance. He shifted his weight and even sitting, his legs ached but he knew that they could not stay there for very much longer. He put his weight onto his sister's crouched form and stood up with a groan. Standing, his legs began to shake and he sank back just ad fast. He knew that they were in the middle of nowhere. There were no towns to go to, no people around for miles and miles. He clutched his sister tighter before letting her go and crawling to the top of the hill. He raised himself onto one knee as he looked what lay beyond. It was still dark and he couldn't see much. His eyes squinted in the dark as he made out lights in the distance but as soon as he focused on them they were gone.

"What was that?" Saphi asked after following her brother. She was standing, unlike her brother and knew at that point that he had used up all of his strength. She had only gotten a brief glimpse of whatever he was looking at and she didn't know what to make of it. She saw him shake his head and she sighed. She sat back down on the ground and leaned on his shoulder as they both looked into the distance. "I'm sorry," She said to him and felt his arm wrap around her in his only reaction. She did the same and they were quiet for a very long time, neither of them knowing what to do at that point.

Post Re: Rising From the Past
Zeta was slightly dazed still; he was running, but he lost track of which direction. He did not know where North, East, West, or South was anymore. And the worst part was, he gained no ground on the creatures pursuing him. If anything, they seemed to only be catching up to him. Thoughts of Saphi rushed into his head. His disconnected frame of mind made him feel as if she were watching him, although he knew that was impossible. The thought made his pride recoil, as he did not want to be seen running like a coward to her. Growling slightly under his breath, he quickly ran up along the trunk of a tree and did a backflip, putting him airborne on top of the strange clones. He sent fireballs and columns of lightning down on them, then charged his sword with a blood red, rippling energy and readied it to strike out at the clones. When he landed on top of them, they seemed to be completely unharmed, which surprised him. He had expected some type of damage.

With a bellow, he lashed out at a clone, and it held up his hand as if to block his slash with its hand. Zeta was confused but did not stop, and when his sword struck the creature it bounced off with a clang of steel, as if the clone was made of rock or metal. The blow jarred his arm and he was almost unable to roll sideways as the clone behind him launched a deadly looking ball of energy at him. He quickly turned around to face both of the clones, confused as to how he was supposed to defeat them. Then, their arms transformed into long, red blades with black flames emanating from them and they launched themselves at him. He took a backwards bound as they charged, apprehensive. He had never seen the like of these things before. His face turned into a snarl as they engaged him in a tense swordfight; they were formidable fighters, although luckily neither was his equal. There were two of them however, and it was difficult to fend them off. More annoying, however, was the fact he could only defend and not attack, as it would have no effect. He was starting to tire now, and his mind raced for ideas, straying into the impossible.

He looked at his rock-hard opponents carefully, then suddenly got inspiration. He bounded back, then muttered several words in the ancient language. Ice started to form on the stone warriors' feet, the base of the ice at the ground. Slowly, it spread upward, encasing them both in a brilliant covering of hard ice. Ignoring his exhaustion at the surprising toll of strength the spell had taken him, he ran towards the creatures and, with his fist, he punched one as hard as he could. The strength he had put in the blow was incredible, enough so that the ice statue crumbled into several pieces, but at the same time left his hand crippled and in terrible pain. However, without stopping, he proceded with the other one, and it cracked as well, albeit in bigger pieces as the blow was not as hard. Screaming in pain, he clutched his hand and frantically muttered healing spells to repair the broken bones and shift them back into place, as well as mending the ripped tissue.

Savage pleasure overcame him, though it was short-lived. He was free of the entity's grasp, or so he hoped, but he had no idea how he was supposed to find Saphi now.

Post Re: Rising From the Past
Draerr sighed and shook his head, unable to think of any explanation for the lights in the distance. He hoped that Zeta was nowhere near it though. He pulled his sister closer to him and rested against her shoulder. He let his body relax against her and he closed his eyes, feeling tired and sore. His mind became fuzzy and he let himself fall into sleep.

Saphi stayed perfectly still as she felt her brother drift into sleep. She tenderly grabbed his arm and moved it away from her. She gently laid him on the ground so he was flat and let him rest. She sat down next to him and put a hand on his shoulder to stay in contact with him. She let her mind wander, trying to clear the doubt, fear and sorrow that was welling up inside her. She wished to be doing anything other than sitting idly. She felt useless. Her thoughts turned to Zeta and she hoped that he was alright. That he had somehow found a way to escape. She brought her knees to her and wrapped her arms around them, taking her hand away from her brother but scooting a hair closer so she could still be in contact with him. She closed her eyes and buried her head against her legs, feeling an unbelievable amount of sadness overwhelm her. She felt tears well in her eyes and she knew not how to stop them from falling. Her mind wandered further back in time to before she had met Zeta and fear started fighting its way into her mind. She felt so weak. She should be over this fear by now or at least have the power to rid the memories from her mind. In a loud cry, she threw herself forward and hit her closed fist against the hard ground. It turned into a soft powdery dirt under her and she felt a large drain of energy that left her gasping for air.

Zeta looked one way, then the other. Impossible. He did not even know which direction he could head out, and he could not bring himself to simply choose for fear that he would go in the opposite direction of where Saphi was. A sort of panic started to grip him, but he controlled it. He could not allow his emotions to get the better of him. He had to clear his mind.

A deep calm started to settle over him. He sat down on the ground, slipping into a state of meditation. He remembered who he was at all times, however: he was Zeta, an elf, and as elf, he was master of his emotions, not the other way around. He had one objective, to find Saphi, but for now he was one with nature. The minds of all the small creatures around him, even the plants, was in his mind, but it was not overwhelming. He could look out at them all, and they at he. And they understood what he was going through... knew of his plight... yes, some had seen the girl pass by with her brother, not too long ago... and there were others who would continue to show him the way.

Zeta blinked. His emotions invaded his mind once more, but the panic had left him. He knew what he had to do, and he was incredibly grateful for nature's blessings. He stood up and looked down at the ground, looking for the tracks of a small fox. He quickly followed them until he found the fox itself, and the fox did not scurry away in fear, but walked with purpose, leading him in the right direction. And he continued to follow the directions gave him, knowing they would lead him to the right place.

Then, he spotted them in the distance. He was slightly concerned at the little progress they had made, and hurried towards them. Draerr was asleep, and Saphi was sitting next to him. Her back was to him, so he could not see her face. Hoping she wouldn't get scared, he decided to surprise her. He was master of stealth; he knew exactly how to become another shadow on the floor, and exactly where to place his feet so they would make no sound at all. He crept up behind her, then whispered in her ear, "I did promise you I would escape."

Saphi gave a small gasp and turned herself quickly, falling onto her butt. She took the dagger from her belt and held it in front of her in defense. A second later she dropped the dagger as her eyes widened and her mouth opened. A smile appeared on her face and she felt her eyes water as she leaned forward and embraced him. After a second of thought she let him go and slightly scooted away, feeling her face flushed and she turned her head away. She saw her brother still asleep on the ground and took in a deep breath before letting it out and turning back towards Zeta. She lowered her head but turned her gaze to him before speaking,

"I'm glad you are back. Are you alright?" She continued looking at him, unsure of what to feel. Relieved for sure, but frightened at the same time. Almost like him being back so soon was too good to be true.

Zeta smiled at her, as she looked at him, a warm feeling overcoming his body to replace the cold that had filled it before.

"Yes, I'm fine for the most part. There were a few inconveniences, but I have my ways. Apart from being tired, hungry, and thirsty, I have no serious injuries."

He noticed she was looking at him rather strangely, and for a moment he wondered if she thought she was dreaming all of this. On reflection, he did realize that finding her again had been a very unlikely prospect. Undoubtedly, she hadn't expected to see him anytime soon.

"Don't be scared," he said softly, then smiled. "Like I said, I have my ways."

Post Re: Rising From the Past
Draerr stirred in his sleep and rolled onto his side, barely awake. His body was still sore and his mind still hazy. He sat up and put his hand against his head, rubbing it before he looked up. His hand clenched into a fist and he prepared to attack. At first all he saw was a shadowy figure above his sister but after closer examination he saw that it was Zeta. He smiled as he saw his sister and crossed his legs to watch over them but kept silent.

Saphi frowned and looked around her. She leaned over and with both hands dug a small hole. She felt tired from her exuberant behavior with the earth but not so much that she couldn't help Zeta somewhat. She concentrated and, with no words, summoned water into the hole filling it to the brim. She moved out of the way and ushered Zeta over. Reaching an arm out, she took a small store of energy from the necklace she wore and brushed her hand over Zeta, giving him the energy she had taken out and taking a little more out for herself. It refreshed her and gave her more than enough to keep the flow of water coming to the hole. She then looked around in the dark and moved her fingers along the ground until she found what she was looking for. She grasped a seed in her fingers and moved back over to the hole with water. She dipped two of her fingers in it and let a drop of water fall into the palm of her hand and then placed the seed in it. The seed had traveled far and she was lucky that it happened to belong to a tree that produced fruit. She pulled a small amount more of energy from the necklace and used to to transform the seed. She watched as she used her energy and her power to blossom the seed and turn it into a ripe peach. She smiled, feeling a little drained and placed the fruit next to Zeta and crossed her hands to wait patiently for him to replenish himself.

Zeta looked at Saphi as she worked spells to bring water to him, and then after that to even give him something to eat. He wanted to object, to tell her that he would do it himself, but he knew that he was far too tired to be able to do much for himself at the moment. Besides, she wanted to help, and he decided that it was best to let her. Perhaps it wasn't the most gentleman-like thing to do, but he felt she would appreciate being useful more than having him fuss over her.

He smiled at her when she was done. "Thanks," he said. "You didn't have to, but I appreciate it."

He went to the water hole and drank his fill, then filled a small casket in his belt full of it. When he was done, he motioned to her that she could release the spell, then took the newly ripened peach from where she had placed it and bit into it, immediately feeling the replenishing effects of both food and water.

"By the way, I'm sorry if I scared you," he told her.

Draerr reached out with his mind to his sister relaying his thirst before quietly moving to the hole and drinking a small amount before ushering his sister over. She gave him a look and he smiled but she did not object. He watched as she drank even less than him and released the spell. He retreated to where he was sitting before.

"I will keep watch for the time being. I'll run out a distance and place some minor wards too. I am not the best with magic but it should alert us to anyone coming for us." With that he got up and ran until they were a great distance apart. He kept contact with his sister, so she would not worry, but his presence was limited to give her privacy.

Saphi settled herself on the ground next to Zeta as her brother ran off.

"We are still in contact in case he runs into any trouble though I hope he does not." She furrowed her eyebrows at the last part but shrugged it off. She smiled back at Zeta and with a small laugh she said, "It's really my pleasure, if it weren't for you we might not be here now. I know you meant no harm in the scare, I'm just a little jumpy is all."

Zeta looked over at Draerr as he set off to place wards around the camp. He knew that they would be fine with them. A warning was all he needed to protect Saphi.

"It feels strange, being thanked for something," Zeta said quietly, almost to himself. It was true. He had become so used to his long isolation that such simple things as having someone grateful for your company was a bit unsettling. He was getting more used to it as the seconds passed however, and he noticed that lately he had been smiling a lot more than he had for a long time.

"I may be the reason we're all here," he said, smiling, "but more than anything else, I'm grateful you came across my path."

Draerr went about checking the area and placing wards in different places along the track he followed. He went slow and took his time, enjoying the early morning and taking the time to back track his steps to make sure he missed nothing.

Saphi smiled and looked away at his words. She didn't respond to his first sentence and only to the second one.

"I'm just as glad that I came across your path," She said in a soft voice and turned back to him with a soft smile, "I..." She started but did not finish her sentence. She furrowed her eyebrows and dismissed what she was going to say. She did not want to look weak and now that she was with him again she certainly did not want to ruin the mood with her past.

Zeta looked at Saphi for a moment, wondering what was going through her mind. Before saying anything else, he got up to sit next to her and put an arm around her.

"What is it?" he asked, wishing she would confide in him what was on her mind.

Gently, he touched one of her cheeks with his hand and turned her face towards his.

In a soft voice, he said, "You don't have to be scared around me."

A blush crossed Saphi's face as she looked up into Zeta's eyes. She held his gaze for a moment, unable to form any coherent thought. She finally broke the gaze and took a moment to think. She was reluctant to share anything personal like that. She felt weak around him. Vulnerable. She sighed and put her hand in the dirt, letting the cool earth run through her fingers.

"I.." She started again, trying to find the right words, "I just think I would be lost if I hadn't found you." She talked in a soft tone and concentrated on tracing patterns in the dirt under her fingers. "I used to think I was strong... Strong enough to stand on my own at least.. But as of late, I just... I don't know. I feel weak and useless. I was barely able to stand with the support of my brother after it happened and upon meeting you, things don't seem as hopeless."

Zeta listened to Saphi, watching her face carefully as she spoke to him. He didn't know what she was going through, he had no way of knowing. But everyone had something that dragged them down, and Zeta was determined to help Saphi.

Her words made him smile, however. It made him incredibly happy to hear she thought he was her new hope.

"As for me, things seem a lot brighter in the future now, with you around..." he trailed off, not knowing whether they would still be in each other's company in the future.

"And Saphi, you still are strong. Isn't it strange that you could hardly hold your weight before, and yet you were still working spells to give me water and food? They're simple tasks, but I saw that you still have a lot of strength in you. You just have to find the confidence to start using it again."

Saphi turned her face up and smiled at Zeta. She turned herself so that she faced him more directly and placed a hand on the arm that he put around her, feeling her face warm up more but not caring.

"Thank you," She said, her tone warm, "For listening, and for coming back. And I know..." She sighed and felt her face wrinkle in impatience. Not impatience for him but for herself. She took his words to heart but she still felt weak, and she knew that it would be some time before she regained her confidence, "I think you very much for your support though. Your kind words help me quite a lot."

Zeta smiled tenderly at her for a moment as she touched his arm.

"You'll be able to take care of yourself soon enough, but for now, I won't let anything happen to you Saphi," he said, looking into her eyes, noticing how much closer their two faces had gotten to each other.

"When you finally can take care of yourself, however... I would still like to be by your side," he said, his face inching closer to hers as he place his other hand on her side. The moon bathed their figures in light, and Saphi's eyes reflected beautifully off of it.

Saphi smiled, blinking as she did so and opened her eyes to be looking into Zeta's eyes.

"I would like that too." She said and the blush on her face lessened, something she found strange but her heartbeat sped up. She briefly looked down as his hand touched her side and she placed her other hand on his arm, before looking back up into his eyes. They sparkled in the moonlight and felt herself getting lost in them. their faces were slowly inching towards each other until their noses touch and she breathed in his scent with happiness.

Zeta was grateful that she had not rejected his touch; if anything, she seemed to be growing in confidence the closer they got to each other. When they were so near that he could feel the warmth of both her body and breath next to his, his thoughts seemed to form ideas of their own. He did not want to risk insulting her in any way, or making her feel uncomfortable, but his actions were hardly under his control anymore. Slowly, with one hand on her side and the other by her head, he drew her closer and looked deeply into her eyes before leaning in slightly and pressing his lips to hers, hoping against hope that she would not push him away.

OOC: xD I didn't know what else to say and 'Pass' was getting a little boring.

Draerr's face flushed as he felt a trickle of the emotions running through his sister and he slowly severed the contact between them. He had other ways of communicating with them if the time arose but he would leave them to themselves for the time.

Saphi's breath caught in her throat as they continued to lean into each other. Her heart was beating at an exceptional rate at that point and it almost made her feel dizzy but in a good way. She was so mesmerized by his eyes that she could not focus on anything but him. His lips touched hers and she did not pull away. Her fingers gingerly pressed into his arms and her eyes half-closed, giving her a view of his eyes that shined bright and resembled the beauty of the moon itself. She leaned into him, only a hair but enough for the contact between them to deepen. The touch of his lips against hers filled her with a passion that was almost overwhelming but she wanted nothing more than to stay in this moment with him.

Zeta had never felt more alive, nor more happy, in his entire life than this moment right here. His mind rushed with millions of images, of past, present, and hopes for the future, all of them with Saphi. He had never felt any of this towards anyone, so the feeling caught him off guard, but he also welcomed the happiness it brought him.

He did not want to stop kissing Saphi, yet he knew the contact had to fade eventually, so he slowly drew his head back, continuing to gaze into her eyes and smiling.

"I won't be leaving you anytime soon, Saphi."

Post Re: Rising From the Past
Saphi felt like she was soaring. Her happiness had never reached this kind of level before in her life and she embraced it with open arms. It completely stripped away her feelings of sorrow and self doubt. When Zeta pulled back a bright smile lit her face as she stared into his eyes. She had wished the moment to go on longer but she knew that it would have to pass at some time. Her heart continued to beat at a fastened pace as they stayed in that after moment. She squeezed his arms again before she finally broke their eye contact. She did not want to move away from him but they needed to come back together as a group and make plans to leave their location. She stood up next to Zeta and looked out into the darkness. She slowly sent her thought out around her looking for her brother. She finally found him after a few seconds off at the edge of the minor barrier he had set and beckoned him to come back. She turned her body to face his direction as she sat back down.

Draerr looked up as someone contacted him. He pulled back apprehensively until he felt the essence was familiar and welcomed it. He heard his sister tell him to come back and he immediately stood up. He stretched his arms and legs before jogging back to their site. He smiled at the two as he sat down across from them. They stayed silent for awhile longer before he decided to break it.

"So, what do we do now?" He looked from Zeta to his sister and stole an additional glance into the darkness beyond. "Whoever that man was. That thing, whatever it is needs to be stopped. I... don't know how we are going to do that though. The only thing I can do is help if needed. Or go warn someone."

Zeta looked into Saphi's eyes for a few more moments until she decided to call her brother. Then he looked over to see him approach and remained silent for a while, unsure of what to say.

"I agree. We need to stop him. But you guys have already been through enough, I don't want you going into unnecessary danger. I can track him and take him down if I'm careful. Let's just... decide where you two will go so I can find you again afterwards."

He said it in a firm voice, hoping to convey that he was confident that he would be able to undertake the task alone, although he did have his doubts. Furthermore, he doubted very much they would consent to just leave like that.

Saphi instantly stood up as her mouth turned into a frown and her eyebrows furrowed in defiance. "No." She said but she did not know how she could back her side of the argument. After a few seconds of silence she sighed and sat back down, not looking at either of them and letting her eyes gloss over as she stared into the darkness. "I know I am in a weakened state right now.. and I don't know how much longer it will take for me to recover but I won't sit by and let the ones I care about put themselves in danger alone. I'm strong enough to help them at least." She looked back at Zeta but her expression was different this time. A frown was still on her face but it carried none of the sudden anger it had just a few seconds ago. Her body slumped and she felt her brother behind her. He made no other move to embrace her or touch her besides the little support he gave.

Draerr made no sound and stayed completely still as he watched his sister. She sank to the ground and he instantly went to her. He stayed back but as she started talking again he leaned slightly against her. A grim expression was on his face as his mind fought for what his decision would be. He had been away from his sister for so long and he did not want to risk losing her temporarily or permanently. At the same time he knew that Zeta was important to her and that she would be even unhappier if she lost him. He continued to stay silent as he continued the struggle. He finally relented and looked up at Zeta.

"She is right," He said. "It will be easier for us to defeat him if we work as a team anyways. We should come up with more than one plan though and at least one that we can use to escape if need be."

Zeta looked into Saphi's eyes, wishing he could somehow heal all her pain. He knew it wasn't so simple, however. He knew that she needed time, and he knew that as much as he wanted her to be safe, he would be much happier to have her at his side. It was an uneasy feeling, however, knowing that he was leading her straight into danger.

"Very well," he said finally. "As much as I don't like bringing you into danger, I doubt there's much I could say to keep you away now." And he gave her a small smile.

Now, they needed a plan. They had no idea where this entity of power resided or where the soldiers had taken him. There was very little doubt in his mind that it was connected to Galbatorix somehow, however. And if they wanted to find out Galbatorix's plans... there was only one possible way of doing so. Infiltration. Spying on the enemy. However, he was having doubts now. It seemed far too dangerous to bring Saphi along for this.

"Are... you sure you're ready to face anything?" he asked uncertainly.

Post Re: Rising From the Past
Laana looked up into Zeta's eyes and felt her heart flutter. Her mind raced as thoughts flew threw it. Memories from that those tragic days, nervousness about who these mysterious enemies were and what they wanted, among many more that she could barely keep track of. She felt her brother's hand on her shoulder and give it a squeeze as she focused on Zeta again. It took her a moment to register that Zeta had said something before she nodded dumbly. She was unsure about how she actually felt about his question but she knew she had to do something besides sit here and feel sorry for herself. She abruptly stood up with clenched fists and felt her brother's hand slide down her back before he followed her suit and stood up with her.

"I don't know what lies ahead..." She said determinedly, "But I want to be there to help you."

Draerr stayed silent as he thought of a plan. He knew already that these enemies were dangerous and they had to be very cautious. He felt his sister stand up suddenly and he immediately followed suit. He took a moment to look between them before he took a deep breath and let it out.

"First thing we need to do at least is find their tracks and try to establish where they are going. If we can find that out we might be able to get to the location first and warn them or set a trap for the enemies. Unless either of you two have a better idea.

Zeta nodded at Draerr, squeezing Saphi's hand to reassure her.

"Don't worry, I know how we can find them again without their trails," he said.

He muttered a few words in the ancient language, running his hand over his clothes, which had been trussed up by the troops escorting the entity. Slowly, all of their filth came apart from his clothing, enveloped in a small blue light. Then, the blue light dissipated into a mist that vanished altogether after a few seconds, but Zeta had caught the trail. It was like a small compass in his mind that used the soldiers as its focal point.

"A little trick I learned," he said, smiling. "It looks like they're headed in the general direction of Uru'baen. Whether that's their actual destination, however, I can't be sure. Are you both ready to move out? We can catch up in a few days if we hurry."

She watched silently as a puff of dirt came up off of Zeta and zoomed off after the party in a blue light. A grim feeling arose inside her. She knew exactly where they would be following those people to and it more and more felt like a trap. She didn't know for who... but she expected them to be ready and waiting when they got close enough. She quickly shook those thoughts from her mind and clenched her body as she prepared herself mentally and physically. She looked between her brother and Zeta with determination set in her face.

"Let's do this."

Draerr nodded silently and moved behind the two of them as they prepared to leave.

"I am ready whenever you two are. I will take the back while Saphi is in the middle. Zeta, you should take point of course since you are the one that can track them." He spoke in a fast voice as he looked at the back of the two of them and into the distance where the light had zoomed off to. He could see the tenseness in his sister's body and he knew that he had to keep her safe. She was more of a priority than anything they were about to go do and he would protect her until the end.

"Well, no turning back now," Zeta said quietly to himself.

He grabbed Saphi's hand and squeezed it, then drew her closer and gave her a light kiss on the forehead.

"I'll be moving fast. If you can't keep up, let me know and I'll slow down," he said, giving a nod in Draerr's direction.

Turning back around, he faced the darkening horizon. The light was turning gray at this point, and despite the gloomy tone it set on the land around them, it was strangely peaceful and beautiful. For a moment, he didn't want to leave. After taking a deep breath, however, he gathered his resolve and set off on a run forward, scouting out the area to make sure there was no hostiles in their immediate vicinity while leading the way for the other two to follow.

Throughout this time, Zeta maintained a mental connection to Saphi's mind.

The horizon looks nice, doesn't it? he asked Saphi. It's a new beginning, I think, for the both of us. I just wish it didn't have to start this way. I shouldn't even be letting you two come along. I shouldn't be dragging you into this.
