Recovering -Open-
(ooc: after being without internet for 6 months, feels good to be back)
It had been six long, painful months since Silvera had been able to even think of being able to fly again, and after some self rehabilitation after contracting a near fatal disease, she felt like she was finally over it and was able to move on. She had made her den with Zil'caron on the outskirts of the Beor Mountains, and she decided that she was going to stretch her wings today, and leave the mountains and head to the large vast valley that was more in the center. Zil'caron at this point was out on a hunt and she had told him that she would most likely go to the valley today and stay close to the Beartooth lake, or along the river.
She still couldn't figure out what she had contracted or what had made her sick, and she didn't dare go near any of the human or other dragon settlements incase what she had was contagious. She didn't want the be the one responsible for a massive epidemic breaking out and killing thousands. the fact that Zil'caron never caught it though made it seem like it wasn't contagious, but she still wasn't willing to take any chances.
She remembered all of her symptoms quite well though, and she wondered if maybe now that she was feeling better, she could find some other dragons or maybe some human apothecaries that had dealt with a similar illness and may have remedies to help prevent such a nasty sickness in the future before it becomes deadly. The sickness itself just started out as a small cough, but then after about a week it turned south to vomiting, and soon, Silvera had began coughing up blood as the lining in her stomach or lungs had apparently been damaged. She had a feeling it was in her lungs because it was still at times a bit difficult for her to breath freely, and it still worried her that the disease isn't actually gone, but it's just taking a break.
Through her sickness though she ate a lot of different plants and fruits trying to find something to calm it down, and this turned out to be more harmful than helpful for a while as she had no idea about the herbs in this area and ate plants randomly trying to find anything that would help. Mos of the time this only served to make her sicker, but some of the fruits that she ate helped a bit. Since being sick the only thing she had eaten was fruits, and she hadn't had a good deer or any sort of game for a while. She had almost forgotten what it had tasted like, and wondered that with all the blood that she had coughed up and vomited if she would still even be able to eat raw game.
She waled over to the edge of her den, This probably isn't one of my smartest ideas, but here goes nothing, I can't stay trapped in this den for the rest of my life. she thought to herself as her back legs pushed her into the air. Her wings opened, and they felt a bit strained, but thanks to Zil'caron keeping the blood flowing through them, they weren't unresponsive or unusable. They were however, a bit painful. She arched around and pointed herself into the direction of the lake, thankfully not being that far away, and landed on the soft sands of the outer banks. The only thing that she had to do now was wait for Zil'caron to come back with food, and possible see if anyone else had decided to come to the lake today.

Re: Recovering -Open-
Caedan and Kaida had been flying for two days when the need for rest weighed down Kaida's wings. She touched down on the bank of a nearby lake and allowed Caedan to dismount. He went off to explore the area with a parting nuzzle and warning to be safe from his partner, leaving Kaida to enjoy a little solitude. She let out a long sigh and waded slowly into the clear water. It was only deep enough to submerge her shoulders just above the wing joints, but it felt wonderful. The dirt that was too deep under her scales for her claws or teeth to dislodge softened and dissolved into the water. Kaida closed the membraneous eyelids that protected her eyes and dunked her head. Schools of fish spooked and swam away as quickly as their tiny fins would take them. Though she was hungry and she truly enjoyed fish Kaida made no attempt to snap at them. These fish were far too small to satisfy her hunger and she didn't like to kill unnecessarily. She would be ravenous again within the day, and the deaths of all those fish would be pointless.
Kaida folded her wings flat against her back and laid against the bottom of the lake comfortably. The water covered her entire body then, save for the highest point on her back. She stayed there for as long as she could hold her breath, which as it turned out was quite some time. Then slowly she straightened up and spread her wings. Water droplets clinging to her scales caught the sun, sending magnified rays of light to reflect on the surface of the lake and on the bank. She shook herself to get most of the water off and then climbed onto the bank. What she would do then she wasn't sure, but she wouldn't go looking for Caedan until he said he was ready to return to her.
Movement above caught her attention. Kaida looked up quickly in time to see a silvery blue dragon descending gently toward the lake. A jolt of panic churned her stomach. Kaida had only met one other dragon before, and that meeting had been far too brief for her to get to know her at all. Therefore Kaida's fear of other members of her species stood, and she didn't know how to react at all. Should she flee?
No. Kaida may be somewhat terrified, but there was a deep aching need for her to understand herself and her species better, and what better way was there than to associate with another dragon? So as the other drew nearer she folded her wings and lowered her head in submission, keeping her eyes to the sky the whole time.

Re: Recovering -Open-
Once Silvera had landed, her wings made it very clear that it was not a wise idea for her to have flown down to the valley floor. The every present burning through the entire length of her flight arms and the muscles that hadn't been used for a while was enough to temporarily cloud her senses. The painful expression on her face making it know how much pain she was actually in. She looked back up to the cave of which she had flown down from, and she no sooner landed as she was trying to figure out how she was going to get back up there once she was ready to leave. I can figure that out later though. At the very least, it feels good to get out, she thought to herself.
She made it a point to enjoy this as much as possible even given the current state of her wings. In fact the icy blue that normal shine on her wing membranes showed signs of the damage this sickness had caused her as different areas of the membrane was a darker shade of purple as well as still a bit puffy from the lack of circulation in the actual membrane. She made sure to flex them regularly, but it can only prevent so much. She brushed it to the side thinking a swim in the cool waters would help relieve some of the tension in the muscles. She used minor ice magic to dull wounds before, so she figured that cold water would have a similar effect.
When she got to the water though, she spotted a soft, purpley white with small horns around her jawline, and her eyes were only ever so slightly darker than her scales. She was truly a work of art, and her slender form complimented her gracefulness even more so. Silvera noticed that the other dragoness was a bit cautious, so Silvera approached with caution as well, but kept her distance, but out of respect, and as some buffer room to get away if she was hostile. In her condition, fighting was out of the question. I do apologize greatly kin sister, I did not see you in the water when I first landed or I would have landed at another part of the lake so you may have kept your peace, she told her in the friendliest voice she had. It was obvious by both her voice, and her movements, that she wasn't here on malicious intent.

Re: Recovering -Open-
The other dragon's respect and serenity put Kaida more at ease, though she didn't drop her guard. Caedan had sensed her discomfort and he brushed her mind concernedly. Kaida sent him a sense of safety, letting him know that everything was okay, and nodded her great head in answer to the other.
'You are not intruding. This is not my terrain, and even if it was I would welcome a Skulblakan guest readily. It is not often that I have met another of my kind in the past.
She got the impression that the other dragon was wild, given that there were only so many Riders in the world and she didn't know of any others. It would be clear that she was partnered to someone. The roughly made leather saddle Caedan's uncle had given them was strapped around her girth and her chest. She would have had Caedan remove it for her dip, but it was treated to be waterproof anyway. If she had known she would be meeting a wild dragon she may have asked to have it removed for the meeting. She didn't know how wild dragons felt about the Riders and the dragons that were partnered to them, and it was a subject she'd like to breach slowly and cautiously.

Re: Recovering -Open-
Silvera nodded back to the other dragoness respectfully after she nodded to her and returned, saying that she wasn't intruding and that she hadn't claimed any of these lands, and that even if she had, she would readily welcome another Skulblakan. Silvera gave a soft chuckle, Perhaps, still impolite to barge in on someone though without any warning, even if it is by accident, she responded in kind. She still seemed tense, but Silvera could see that she had some relief in knowing that she herself wasn't here to cause injury or otherwise, and Silvera in turn lowered her guard and calmly slid into the lake, letting the water soothe her aching wind, and giving a sigh of relief when she felt it.
She looked back to her den again and then back to the other female here. She noted that she bore a saddle. So she has a rider. He's probably close, gathering food or the like. If that's the case, I need to be extra sure that I don't seem malicious. she told herself making a mental note. While she had no reason to not trust humans, as she had lived amongst them before in Dracondor while it was still flourishing, and she had met and talked with a few there that were really nice, and she knew that dragons and riders would pair up. The only thing that had soured her was Galbitorix, and that was only slightly because she knew that he was one human in a sea of many.
And don't think for a minute that I would think anything less of a fellow Skulblakan because they bear a rider. Any being that judges and entire race based on one individual is just as corrupt and blind as the individual that they are judging in my opinion she said hoping to help calm the nerves of the other dragon. On that note, my name is Silvera, and I actually live right up there in that den. This is the first time in months I've been able to even stretch my wings., and it definitely feels like it that's for sure. she finished.
