this might sound weird, but i've been thinkking for a long time about kristina. if she was taken to galbotorix, he would test the egg with her. mabey she COULD be the next rider, who knows? anything is possible. just becauses arya's magic is green, and she has lots of skill, doesn't mean she will be the next dragon rider. when eragon was choosen he didn't know a thing about swordsmanship. it all depends if the dragon thinks the person is strong enough. and kristina always wants to fite and never go off with the other village woman and children in hiding while the men are fighting in carvahall. anyway, just a suggestion that kritina COULD be the next rider.

I think that katrina will die after stealing the egg and iving it to roran so he becomes the next rider.

just because theres more humans doesent mean anything for balance a dragon chooses its owner by the strength and will power in that persons future destiny so i think roran would make a good choice since arya is the obvious choice for the rider

There is a possibility that nasuada will become the next rider. Arya is the obviouse answer, so i doubt that will happen, because CP will probably want a surprise.
The dream that eragon had in the first book of two people sailing away, might be of Eragon, and Nasuada sailing away back to the place that humans originally came from.

Actually the next Dragon Rider i heard is from another planet..Its me, I am not going to lie, this trilogy is actually based off a true story. So now that you all know who the TRUE rider is i will comment on you silly theories.

Kristina will be a dragon rider after G-dude gives her an egg. Her love for Rohan though gives her the willpower and strength to escape. The only problem is her male dragon is ready to mate, so he mates with Saphira, and Eragon in turn mates with Kristina as he is bringing her to Ronin. Saphira will be the first to discover Kristina's pregnency and This sparks a blood feud between the cousins. At the end of the book Eragon will be asked to leave agelsia so that the return of mortal leaders can exist. And since Saphira needs her mate, and since Kristna has by now come close to, or given birth to Eragon's child; the two leave for faraway lands with Ronin screaming his revenge on the shores.

Umm..I really don't know what 2 say, but I must say this: Ppl r saying Arya will b next 2 much! I mean seriously, I know Arya is awesome but thinking about what CP would probably do, what r the chances? Who even knows there'll B a next Dragon Rider @ all? I know all I'm saying probably is really stupid, It's been ages since I've read, posted, or anything about the books, but still, WHO KNOWS? For example, who expected that Murtagh would become a dragon rider and b forced 2 join Galbatorix 4 Eldest? Who expected that Murtagh was Eragon's Brother? Who expected that Brom was a Dragon Rider once(B4 they read Eragon, of course)?

All i know is that there will be at least one more dragon introduced to this story and here is my theory. You know when Eragon and Saphira are flying through the Haradac desert to get to the burning plains battle? Well remember Eragon and Saphira looking towards a cave ontop of a peak and Saphira says something along the lines of "That was once a great mating place of dragons of old" and right after she says that they see some strange glint and shimmer in the mouth of the cave? Well what the heck do you people think that was?

(It was me and my silver dragon called oblivion j/k j/k...or am i? Glint/shimmer thing though is totally in the book)

Please don't post stuff that TOTALLY goes against the books. Did you even read Eldest?? It says thet ONLY HUMANS AND ELVES can be Riders, because NO ONE ELSE was added to the treaty with the dragons.

Maybe there was a secret clan of Urgal Dragon riders, and Orik was sayin How he wished he could be a raide, perhaps he shall become one, since it is the dragon that chooses the rider, it doesnt matter about race, just merrit.

since this is about the craziest thought. what if faolin comes back to life, storms galby's castle, steals the egg, becomes the next rider, then marries arya.

i think it will be an elf: Vanir or Arya. Becuase there is already a human rider: Eragon. And Eragon with an elf would be hard to defeat.

i say angela, no one expects it so why not her lol? i heard something about the rider being in all 3 books already (dousnt rule elva out since thats when eragon "blesses" her) or joed, he has been in all 3 and who knows.. i hope its arya though it be weird if roran's dragon and saphira are doing it, since anyone saphira likes eragon likes (vice versa) what would happen to eragon and roran, (not talking about gay..) like deeper understanding or what? off topic but remember shruikan is enslaved so even if roran does become the rider saphira could mate with shruikan instead, possibility but i dont think roran will be the rider since he would outlive katrina... that would be like losing ur dragon to him so i dont think roran or katrina become the rider lol. unless CP hs something against one of those two...

Just for the people who think that CP won't choose Arya for some suprise reason. He hasn't done anything really surprising. Actually the most surprising thing to me so far, was Selena being the most feared person of the Empire behind Galbatorix. He tried to give us a shock with Brom as the father of Eragon and half the people on this site, including myself could see Brom his pops. No, this last book will be just to tie up loose ends and end the story nice and tidy. Arya, has the greatest chance of being the next rider and it makes the most sense for CP to do this, so he can bring Eragon and Arya and the two dragons togather in one happy family. He won't kill Katrina, as this would destroy Roran's spirit. In the end it will be either a human or an elf. The reason for these two races is simple neither dwarves or Ur'gals are in the pact with dragons. So, we will see who he decides to go with.

As I have gone through all the possible riders of the next dragon I came up with it has to be an elf as there is no elf rider at this point besides Oromis but three human riders. I am thinking it will be Vanir, Arya or Islanzadi. Arya and Islanzadi seem to be the most likly. Islanzadi would be the most surpising of the two. Vanir would be a great rider though as well. I wish Book 4 would hurry up the suspense is killing me.
