Post Village of fear
The village was teeming with life, children ran through the streets, laughing and playing without a worry in their hearts. Smoke tinged with scents of delicious food wafted into the air, tempting one to stay awhile. Nothing was amiss in this perfect town as Reb explored, a cloak hiding her all to recognizable face, she didn't dare interupt the balance of the happy living these folks shared.

Envy was an ugly emotion but it was there anyways, alwasy close to the surface when she passed through villages such as these filled with loving parents who were alive to care for their children. Perfectly pure children, nothing evil about them. Their angelic faces etched with happiness as they ran after one another playing games Reb had no recolection of, nor ever had the chance to play.

Reb came to an abrupt stop as a round ball landed at her feet. She looked down at it with something akin to awe written on her face as she watched a young boy run up to her and scoop the large ball into his arms and run off to join his friends after shouting, " Sorry Miss." . Reb smiled. She squashed the envy in her heart, never wanting their childlike glee to end, never wanting to have the innocence in their eyes die with the realization that all in the world was not right.

Sentaill. A village that had once been her home, but she had no memories of, only the memories that the shade had showed her. He had witnessed the brutal murder of her mother, and the destruction of her village, not realizing until later that she was the child that Galbortorix had sought with so much violence. At the ripe age of ten the shade had filled her mind with the violent pictures of her parents murders, and those images had never left, and now looking at the new Sentaill, grief welled up but was quickly prevented. She refused to cry, she hadn't come here to cry, she had come here to make amends.

Reb turned at the sound of a man clearing his throat. Behind her stood a black smith. His long brown beard was curly and flecked with grey, his eyes kind, and much older than he appeared to be. " Excuse me Miss, I couldn't help but notice your large black steed looks to be in need of being shod, would you like me to take care of it?" The man asked politely. Reb smiled at him and removed her hood, hoping that no one would pay to much attention to her facial features.

"Actually I would, thank you kind sir." Reb said smilling, bowing low. She whistled loudly and watched as the croud parted for Cobalt. As she grabbed the reins and handed them over to the kind man, Reb felt his gaze rest upon her face. "You look familiar to me, like I've seen it before." The man muttered.
"My face is plain, many have it." Reb lied, knowing that not a single person on earth could look like her but her brother Rebel.
"You remind me of a painting I once saw, of a rider that lived here." The man replied kindly.
"You are mistaken kind sir, I must be going really." Reb insisted and then hurried away, pulling her hood back up and almost tripped on the hem of her long black gown, one she had worn to fit in, knowing that in her war outfit she would have been recognized as Reb the bounty hunter imediately.

Reb rounded a corner and ran into yet another person, this one a young boy. She smiled at him, but her smile disapeared as soon as she saw the look of panic written on his small face. "They got him!" The boy was crying, tears running down his face.
"Who got who baby?" Reb asked crouching down to eye level with the child.
"They got Robert, they killed him!" The boy wailed, soon drawing the attention of worried mothers.
"Who is Robert?" Reb asked trying to soothe the distraut boy.
" The ugly, large men, they got my brother. We were playing outside of town when a horn sounded and then they grabbed him. They were giants! I heard his screams when I ran! I want mommy!" The boy cried, and then ran away from Reb.

Dread spread through Reb like a wild fire. " Who is the boy talking about?' Reb asked a close by woman. Whose eyes looked positively huge with fright. " The king sends a legion of Urgal to our town once a year to collect his due payment, he doesn't trust our city, someone betrayed him who had lived here and now we all pay for it. They burn what they want, take what they want and don't look back. I've got to go." The woman said, then scooped a young girl up into her arms and ran for cover.

As the next horn sounded, Reb knew who they were close, before she could think, she ripped her cloak and gown off, revealing her tunic and capris, loaded down with knives, and the sword at her hip. Never would she let this city burn, not while she was still breathing, this is what she could do to repay them for the pain her father's living here caused. She would free this little town from the legion of urgals coming her way.

People gasped and ran as the intruder revealed an suit fit for a war, and they ran to take cover as the intruder's animals began to rally. Two wolves slunk from the forest, scaring livestock as they went. Women screamed as the large black horse thundered down the streets, looking for his family. It was a powerful sight, the large black horse, the large black wolf, the smaller white wolf, and the woman standing there, facing the hundreds of urgals coming their way. " Bring it." Reb muttered under her breath as the first urgal attacked.

Post Re: Village of fear
OOC: Sorry for not posting sooner, I wanted to but it slipped my mind.

Keralin walked through the countryside, his time was all but taken up now days by his ever growing child. He'll be a man soon. He thought to himself, then shook his head and thought with a smile At least by human standards. He had taken a liking to the human way of thinking, by which it was use the time you've got because you never know when it will end. He had changed his appearance to something more human-like, morphing his ears round and making his face a little less angular. It gave him the freedom to wander to country without being asked who or what he was, not to mention that with the added Empire troops it would hardly go unnoticed that an elf wandered by.
Keralin let his mind wander whilst his feet took him wherever they felt like. He felt the trees around him as well as the grass, the animals and the insects. Each had their own song to sing and Keralin listened to them all play in harmony. At least until one cried out in terror.
This snapped Keralin out of his reverie and back into the world. He listened to the voice and found out what was happening before it was snuffed out.
Urgals? He wondered. Shouldn't they be down with Varden? He didn't have time to ponder the question as another life was so abruptly ended. They were animals being slaughtered for food but Keralin soon noticed the amount they were dying by. That could mean only one thing, they are planning for an assault. Keralin sighed at the fact that his peace was disturbed but knew that it would be selfish to ignore it.

He hid himself as well as he could, keeping an eye on the Urgals. He didn't have to wait long though as they soon began to charge a village. It's not even defended! What kind of monsters are these?! Fire welled up in Keralin, a fire that he had not felt in a long time. He felt the urge to use his blades, to feel them flying through the air and to have his feet timed so perfectly that it seemed he was dancing. He wanted the rush of a fight, to know that he was in fact the strongest. Keralin gripped the handles of his swords which seemed to shiver at his touch, as if they were waiting to be freed from their sheathes. His breathing came in longer breaths as he felt the impending conflict. He closed his eyes and summoned the void within his mind which focused his attentions on nothing but his body, his swords, his enemy, his soul. It came so readily this time, not forced as it was before.
"It has been far too long." He said out aloud to himself. He was glad Aelir wasn't with him for this, for he was sure his dragon would have some choice words to have with him.

Post Re: Village of fear
Reb braced herself as an onslaught of Urgals rushed towards her. She drew her blade, and then send fire seeking to destroy. An explosion rocked the earth as her fire ball slammed into the oil that covered the many bodies, and she winced as the cries of pain filled the air. But these people were her concern not the Urgals. White fire licked up her arms, consuming her hands until they were all but invisible to the naked eye, the fire so bright. Her blade exploded in a firy inferno as black fire licked up the blade, covering every inch of steel that was revealed. As more Urgal's attacked, somewhere close a woman screamed and a baby began to wail. Reb's protective instincts welled up quick and hard, never before had she wanted to protect a city so much, to stop all the suffering.

An Urgal-obviously a leader- ran at Reb, his axe swinging for her throat. It met empty air as Reb lept away as quick as a cat. She forgot all emotions as she primed herself for battle, became a part of the battle, focusing wholly on the battle at hand not letting anything break her concentration, such a slip could be deadly.

Post Re: Village of fear
Keralin emerged from his hiding spot and immediately put his swordplay into use. The blades seemed to glide in and out of enemies and gleamed with a ferocious beauty which made the one wielding them even more frightening. Keralin's footwork never slipped, never faltered, never hesitated and Keralin's blade never missed. Each swing brought another Urgal down and each swing brought Keralin the memories of fighting, the feel of being alive. But again, he regretted the loss of life. He enjoyed the fight, just not the kill. He sighed and continued his spree, watching each creature fall as it met it's end at his blade. As he moved closer to the village he could make out another figure, someone familiar.
Reb? He wondered at the sight. He put the question out of his mind and continued to concentrate on the fight, he still had people to save. "I'm here with you Reb!" Keralin called out, making sure that she wouldn't attack him.

Reb smiled when she heard her friend, but she couldn't reply, an Urgal had her locked in a sword to axe battle. He was a good foot taller than her, and ugly to boot with at least a hundred pounds on him more than she. He was trying to use brute force to get her to back down. "Puny girl, you die soon." He laughed in an gravely voice.
"Meet you there." Reb muttered and then blasted the urgal in the gut with fire, sending him flying into his ranks. More advanced and were met with fire.
Reb knew she could only do one thing to save the village and not die by the overwhelming numbers of Urgals. " Keralin! Move to stand beside me! I have to kill them all at once." Reb cried and then began to spin in a circle, sparks of fire billowing out from her, creating a fire cyclone that climbed high into the sky as the spun faster, the fire picking up speed. She opened a path in the fire for her friend to make it to her safe. Reb suddenly lifted off from the ground, her eyes going milky white. The fire around her changed from red to blue to white in a matter of seconds.

Post Re: Village of fear
Keralin kept fighting off wave after wave after wave of Urgals, there were far too many of them for just a simple village raid. When Reb's voice broke through the sounds of battle warning him to move, he listened. Keralin knew Reb's way with magic and right now he could see her increasing her flames. He fought his way behind her and began killing those who dared move past her attack as well as those who had the nerve to try and attack her. He just hoped that he didn't miss any.

Post Re: Village of fear
Reb's fire reached a roaring crescendo right before she released. The fire surged towards the army, a cyclone of firey death. But right before she hit the ground, an axe slammed hard into her side. Reb cried out as she fell to the ground, struggling to hold the fire to her will, trying to hold it to her as the army was destroyed, leaving the village devoid of any Urgal as it swept angrily through the army, killing all in its path.

The attacking Urgal cried out as a horse hoof slammed into his head, and then into his neck. He pitched forwards, dead before he ever reached the ground. Reb lay on the ground panting, blood surrounding her. She wouldn't die, but healing would hurt horrendously.

Keralin cursed the Urgal that hurt Reb, but it got what was coming to it as it met it's end at Cobalt's hoof. Then the rest as they all met their end in Reb's fire. Keralin quickly went over to Reb's side and inspected the wound. He relayed what he saw to Reb.
"It looks bad, but you'll be fine. It would heal with bandages but why wait that long." Keralin said reaching for magic. "Weise Heil" the incantation began to stitch Reb's wound together.
"What are you doing here anyway?" He asked while the wound was healing.

Reb bit her lip as her wound began to stitch her back together. "I'm here for personal reasons. I would tell you them, but I would rather not reform the town's people into a riotous mass of hatred." Reb told him and then stood, swaying on her feet. Shedo imediately leaned into Reb's leg to give her friend support, Leth leaning into her other leg. Reb gave a grunt, telling the wolves of her appreciation for their support. "I was born in this village along with my brother. My parents caused much to befall this quaint little village, most of which are not good things." Reb added as she began to move stiffly towards Cobalt, who was still trying to smoosh the Urgal into the ground. " It is over, go back to the black smith." Reb commanded, patting Cobalt's flank as he followed her order and began a slow walk for the black smith's cottage.

"I understand if you don't want to talk about it." Keralin said, cleaning his swords off, "There are things I would not want to talk about too. But, it is a good thing that you came at this time. I mean, if you hadn't been here what would have happened?" He was a little curious about the whole situation and why Urgals were attacking a settlement in the middle of nowhere. He sheathed his swords,
"Which also beings to mind, why were they here in the first place? I thought Urgals were fighting with the Varden."

Reb walked away from Keralin not quite ready to answer his imediate question, but rather headed towards the mass of towns people who were hudled a good distance from her, for every step she took forwards, they took a collective one back. A sigh escaped her lips as she crouched low, talking in a non-threatening tone of voice. "We are not here to hurt you, I came here for my own personal reasons, none of which are to hurt you." Reb muttered.

"We know who you are! You are the demonic bounty hunter known to kill all in her path, merciless they even say." A man called out. Reb prayed to God for patience.

" There are some truths to those stories, but not all of them. I am not a demon, and I do not kill the innocents in this world. I would rather die saving them." Reb muttered, tired of the people, dismissing them as she turned towards Keralin. "Thank you for your assistance, God smiled on me when he sent you to help save my life." Reb bowed low, and then straightened to her impressive height. " The Urgals were sent here because my father was one of the last dragon riders and lived here with his human wife. I was their youngest child. Galby attacked this village, and every year sends his Urgals to remind this innocent village why they don't go against his orders. Very few survive from year to year. " Reb whispered to her friend, anguish lacing each word.

OOC: No of course not you are more than welcome to join, anyone is.

"That's barbaric! No, it's worse than that, it's unconscionable!" He felt rage well up in him at the sheer brutality of it. He wanted to find Galbatorix himself and kill him for this outrage, but he knew he didn't have a chance. Not when Galbatorix could simply reach into his mind so easily.
Keralin did think of an interesting question though, "Does he attack at a certain time or is it random? Because if it's the latter, how was it that they attacked as you came to the village?"

IC: Quicksilver broke into a wild gallop as Eriel, with Emrhyst, spotted a village under attack.
"It burns red and blue." Eriel muttered to herself.
Emrhyst roared within her Eldunari, her fiery tempest still raging within her.
Their anger flowing over to Quicksilver, his mane burst into fire as he surged through the forest. It wasn't long before they caught sight of the attackers.
'Urgals'
Urgals Indlvarn and Eldunari said at the same time. And Reb too. Emrhyst snarled.
Quicksilver lost no time and rushed into battle with renewed vigor, Eriel managed to shoot a few but quickly had to combat the raging inferno with her own. Twisting it gently, the elf helped her old friend as she lost strength, molding the inferno and keeping it in control.

It was over before it began.
Eriel nudged Quicksilver into the village itself and stopped when she got within reasonable distance of Reb and Keralin, almost appalled at the reaction of the villagers.

Síoc landed near the edge of the village and heard the two legs exchange words. He didn't want to step forward altough he knew they were friends the villiagers would die with shock if they saw him so he waited for Tuorin to arrive
Tuorin was running so fast that the his feet barely touched the ground he was heading for the village when he seen Síoc land and veered his course towards his Dragon just incase Soon he stood at the dragons flank Síoc told him about what he heard and together they walked forward to the small villiage

IC: Reb shook her head. "It is the same time each year, I guess in his own way Galby is trying to make sure that some effort is put forth to fight him, so he can't be blamed of slaughter." Reb said in disgust, waiting for her horse to return. She turned to Eriel and smiled. "Thank you good friend." Reb said then sighed as she spotted Shedo running along the edges of the village. Her wolf was snarling with impatience.

Reb looked around at the village and couldn't believe all that had happened, and it was her families fault. "It would be better if these people moved from here, yet they don't." she muttered.
