Post Symphonic Metal
Is anyone else here a fan of symphonic metal? I love the genre because it is basically a mélange of my two favourite types of music: metal and classical music.

I'll give you guys a few examples of it:

Epica - The Phantom Agony

Nightwish - Ghost Love Score

The only Symphonic Metal band I know of is Within Temptation, and they're really good in my opinion.

I can't see those videos for some reason, but I have heard of Nightwish before.

Some songs by Within Temptation:

I'll try reposting them... maybe they'll work this time.

Edit: No luck... I can't see what the problem is exactly. I've got the URL right, the height and width right... Embedding is enable.

:(

Hey WotG, I edited your post to make the tags work. The problem was that you weren't using the [youtube] tags. You have to have it like this..

Code:
[youtube] (insert anything after "=" in URL) [/youtube]

And then the video shows up! Voila!

For a loooong time, symphonic metal was my favourite genre of music, I love nightwish especially.

Sadly Nightwish has turned into pop with Anette... I have to admit that their old stuff like Planet Hell, Ghost Love Score, Wishmaster and Over the Fields and Far Away is amazing though.

The main problem I have with Symphonic Metal is that (in the case of Epica and Nightwish) it lacks any amazing riffs to make it stand out. This is purely an improvement on it though... Nightwish and Epica are still good bands. They could improve a lot though.

Gotta say I can't deny that symphonic metal is pretty awesome.

Not a huge listener but I like to listen to it on occasion.

Wrath of gods - Its Over The Hills And Far Away not Over The Fields And Far Away :)

I'll like Nemo, Amarath, Over The Hills And Far Away, etc.

Yeah, I'm not too keen on Annette either, though if you say that, people will bite your head off and accuse you of being a Tarja fan rather than a Nightwish fan.
Have to admit, I generally prefer much heavier stuff now.
