Alec and Aetius

OOC:Hey recently F-14 Ace had the idea of starting a new order, I was hoping to join in on it so I'm creating this character as a Gryphon Rider, now due to the fact this is a new concept I decided to just do the same bio as a Dragon Rider but if you what me to change it just PM me with the details

I was thinking of having an RP set after book 4. The Dragon Riders are still trying to recover from the war as well as having to deal with new threats so I was thinking of creating Gryphon Riders. They would serve the same purpose as the Dragon Riders but would exist as a separate entity. They would usually be found in areas where there are lots of gryphons or few dragons such as Tenya. However if needed, they could assist the Dragon Riders from time to time. Anyway this RP would be about how they get established.

Name: Alec.

Age: 16.

Gender: Male.

Skills: Survival Skills: Alec has learnt many survival skills in his long travel across Alagaesia, at first with his family and then on his own in the travelling along the Edda River. Hunting, stealth and basic healing spells are all the things he decided would be best to learn, even learning a good deal about botany for when he is in the wild. During his hunts Alec learnt to open his mind to nature as well, which he often does before sleeping in the wild to check the surrounding areas.

Swordsmanship and Metal-craft: Alec's father, Farren, is a merchant and craftsman who deals in metal wares of all sorts. Watching his father worked has give Alec a useful knowledge into working with metal and how to fuse and strengthen it. Alec's father also has many connections across the land giving Alec great access into some of the best smiths in Alagaesia, who are always willing to help. Alec also learnt how to wield a sword by some of his father's best customers. One was an elf called Fenor, who taught Alec alot of his fighting skills before he left. Alec practises everyday with his blade, even when out on the road.

Magic:Both Alec's Father and Mother are magician, his father mostly uses it to craft while his mother uses it as a midwife in the town. This means both Alec and his Sister were lucky to inherit the ability to use magic. Alec mostly knows healing magic but he has also picked up a few defensive spell to protect himself. Alec's magic is only as strong as the average magician, without the aid of spirits or artefacts, but he finds this his reserve is quite enough to do what he needs to.

Hair: Rusty Brown.

Eyes: Dark, Golden brown.

Home Village: Originally from Feinster, Lives in Hedarth.

Parents: Farren, aged 36 (Father, Alive) & Idiala, aged 34 (Mother, Alive).

Siblings: Viv, aged 14 (Sister, Alive).

Character Personality: Alec is still trying to discover what type of man he is or will be in life. He has a great love of adventure and going off on his own in search of something great. This has made him eager to prove himself as not just the head-strong, naive, young man from around the town but also as someone worth their time of day. His age means that he has yet to experience as much in his short life as he would like, it also means he is often counting on the knowledge of others to lead him, until he has learnt enough to judge actions and consequences wisely. Thus far that has not been a problem as he can always rely on his father, but as he sets out on his own path it could lead to trouble or affect the good that he holds onto dearly. His ego is as inflated as one would expect from a young man and just as easy to burst, because of this Alec is quite easy to taunt and will often rush into a fight with a sword in hand. Alec wishes he was not so easy to bait and has recently started mediating, as Fenor told him, so he could keep his head in a fight, or not have to fight at all. He is eager to learn as much as he can and quick to pick up new skills, so hopefully before long his temper will cool. Alec is also unusually focused for such a hot-head, this is mostly due to the time he spends training, which is one of the few times he will be calm and relaxed. His training keeps him focused and he is always looking for new ways to improve himself as a swordsman, or looking for a way to start an adventure worth going on. He hopes that he will find his true self on some great adventure in a foreign land.

Character History: Alec was born into a merchant family in Feinster, his father a craftsman, while his mother was the daughter of a sailors family. The start of his life was one you would expect to find in any town across the land. He grew up learning his father's and grandfather's trade. Yet when he was six years old his father decided to set off to Hedarth, where he could trade easily with the elves and dwarves and hopefully learn a few tricks of the trade from them who were superior metal smiths. Alec was excited at the prospect of travelling to a new home. He was also curious to meet the fabled Elves and Dwarves that appeared in so many tales his mother had told him at night.

By the next spring they had set off, a caravan of merchants who would hopefully find a better life elsewhere. Alec loved travelling across Alagaesia with his family and took a great delight in seeing the new towns and landscapes that he never knew existed. He learnt alot before they reached Hedarth, which had taken them over a year as the had had to edge around the Hardac Desert with such a large group. Shortly after they had arrived his father set up shop and began his work once again. Alec was happy to help and grew more and more interested in blade-smiting. As Alec met more elves he began to practise swordsmanship, which he was happy to find he was quite good at. Alec also started to travel into the wild at age 13 to start hunting which really helped to hone his skills that the others had taught him when he was travelling to Hedarth.

When he was 15 an elf came to his father as the friend of the friend, and stayed with them for a few weeks. The elf's name was Fenor and he told Alec many tales and taught him much of healing magic and sword wielding. Alec also met Rima, Fenor's companion and ever since then Alec has wanted to leave his old life and go on to a great adventure. After Fenor left Alec threw himself back into training to one day be a great sword master, so he could travel and train others in the art, and also have create some worthwhile tales along the way. He recently set out to go south and learn what he can from the dwarves of their unusual weapon choices, hoping that he will be able to learn to defend himself from all sorts of attack.

Weapons:Alec uses a steel/mithrill alloy bladed Falcata sword and dagger, making it nearly unbreakable, which he inherited from his father. The hilt is wrapped in black leather, as is the scabbard which has silver fixtures. The Falcata is usually worn on the hip so it is easy to draw while on horse or Gryphon back. Unlike the picture below Alec's Falcata does not have a dragon on the end, it was once plain but when his father gave it to him Alec paid to have it altered to have a Eagle's head instead.

Dislikes: Rules, Strict or Angry People, Manipulating Others for Your Own Gain.

Weakness / Fear: His greatest fear is being stripped of his freedom and forced into a life with no choices. At such a young age Alec's obvious weakness is his naivety when his experience fails him, Alec will rely on other's who may lead him astray.

Animal Companions: None

Character's Physical Description: Alec is a tall young man who has inherited much of the look of a Feinster sailor from his mother's side of the family. He has lightly tanned skin all year round, which makes him noticeable in the town of Hedarth where among the fair skinned elves and short dwarves. Alec is all round sturdy and well-built from training since he was a young boy, which gives him quite a intimidating appearance, but his young face takes away from the idea of him as a menace. Even now Alec has the beginnings of laugh lines and he usually has a smile on his face. This shows he is not as threatening as he looks and his warm brown eyes often help break the barriers as people are quick to like him.

Dreams for the Future: To make his family proud and live an eventful life

Reason for Dreams: Like any young man, Alec wishes to escape the dull routine of a day-to-day life and go on a great adventure and be a hero.

Gryphon's Name: Aetius

Age: Unhatched yet. (Will hatch in F-14's RP and will age from there)

Gender: Male

Parents: Ethon (Father, Alive) & Aras (Mother, Alive)

History: Aetius egg was left in a nest to wait for the right time to hatch, like most of his kind, within the Southern parts of the Beor Mountains. He comes from a large, cream egg that was flecked with brown spots, like dust along the top. His family is a small one, his parents and another egg that has yet to hatch also. They roost in a peak close to two other families in the Beor Mountains, but his mother is thinking of moving the eggs to Spine as food is become scares. This is one of the largest clutches of Gryphons in the mountains and wildlife is starting to avoid the area.

Personality(This is what his Personality will be): Aetius is young and has a great desire to learn alot about the new world he has been brought into. He is interested in the other races of Alagaesia, particularly the elves, who he feels it would be a great pleasure to meet. It is easy to convince him to come along on an adventure as he is eager to see the world and he is wondering what is waiting for him out there. Aetius often worries for his kind and hopes that this recent offer present to them will give them a place in history. In the mean time he is content learn what he can of it before he must set out on his own path in life.

Colour: Dark Brown and White Plumage, Golden Fur on the Hind Legs.

Appearance(Again this will be his Appearance after the RP): Aetius has the head of aBonellie's Eagle with dark brown plumage fading into a lighter orangey-brown colour with white feathers on his underside. His beak is short, hooked, dark bronze in colour, while his eyes resemble a liquid gold. His wings are a lighter brown than his face and speckled white underneath. Aetius's hindquarters are a light, brown, short fur, leading into an average length tail with rusty brown fur on it's tip. He will quickly make it to ten-foot in wingspan which is a good sigh for one so young.

Dreams for future: To fly free in the lands and meet the other races of Alagaesia. To learn as much as he can in his time.

Reasons for dreams: Aetius has only ever known the mountains he grew up on and he grows bored of the same faces every day

Weakness / Fear: Fear is that his race will fade into the background without accomplishing anything of major importance. His weakness is that he will put himself in danger for the feeling that comes with it.
