[Star Wars/Inheritance]
The summarized approximate story of the [Star Wars/Inheritance] trilogy: [A New Hope/Eragon], [Empire Strikes Back/Eldest], and [Return of the Jedi/unknown].

[A New Hope/Eragon]
There is a young boy named [Luke/Eragon] who does not know who is father is. He lives in an out-of-the-way place called [Tatooine/Carvahall]. There he practices [moisture farming/hunting]. One day, when he is out [moisture farming/hunting], he notices a sudden commotion. There is a large burnt area, and in the center he finds a [droid/dragon egg]. He later finds out that the [droid/dragon egg] is a very important thing, he is now the only true living [Jedi/Dragon Rider]. Eventually, the Empire appears and burns down his house, killing his uncle who he had been living with. He leaves the place with a person who is more than he seems, [Obi Wan/Brom]. On his journey, he finds out that [Obi Wan/Brom] is a [Jedi/Dragon Rider]. All of them had supposedly been killed when [Palpatine/Galbatorix] turned against them. Eventually, [Obi Wan/Brom] dies saving him. He finds out, through mental contact, that there is someone being held hostage by the Empire and is being tortured to give the information of the [Resistance/Varden]. He rescues this person, who turns out to be [Leia/Arya]. From here, he goes and joins the [Resistance/Varden]. A battle soon follows, [Battle of Death Star/Battle of Tronjheim]. He plays a key role in the [Resistance/Varden]'s victory, but is wounded. He is saved by a mysterious consciousness and is asked by it to come to the lush and verdant [Dagobah/Du Weldenvarden] for further training in his life as a [Jedi/Dragon Rider]. It is here that the first book ends.


[Empire Strikes Back/Eldest]
[Luke/Eragon] recovers from his wound and spends time helping out the [Resistance/Varden] recover from the Empire's attack. Soon there is another little scuffle, [Battle of Hoth/Ajihad's Dying Fight]. Following this, after pledging his power to the [Resistance/Varden], he soon continues his journey and heads to [Dagobah/Du Weldenvarden]. There, he trains under the supervision of [Yoda/Oromis], who is strong as a [Jedi/Dragon Rider] but unable to battle any longer. Meanwhile, the [Resistance/Varden] relocate themselves, receiving help from [Surda/the Bothans], who are also against the Empire. They receive information about the impending attack of the Empire and prepare for battle. [Leia/Arya], along with others of the [Resistance/Varden] are in trouble by the Empire. [Luke/Eragon] senses this and is told that it would be better if he were to complete his training by [Yoda/Oromis]. He must go to his friends, so his mentor, [Yoda/Oromis] makes his promise that he will return once he is done with his duty. Thus, he leaves and comes to his friends' aid just as they begin the fighting. Everything is going well at [Cloud City/The Burning Sands] until someone of [Luke/Eragon]'s family turns up against him. It is [Darth Vader/Murtagh] and he is much stronger than [Luke/Eragon]. He defeats him, but instead of following the spirit of his Emperor [Palpatine/Galbatorix]'s words, he merely follows the wording and allows [Luke/Eragon] to live. The battle then ends as both sides pull back. It is here that the second book ends.

paolini didnt copy off the star wars.. in an interview i read he said that all fantsy books had the same things in them he just wrote his in a diffirent way.. and his is a better way in my opinion..

lol i watched like 2 of the movies i think and they were kinda boaring.. eragon books were better then them...

I thought it was kinda stupid when Leia (sp) turned out to be Luke's brother. How dumb can you go? *Jamacain voice*

They're sorta similiar, but I'm not a big fan of Star Wars and I like Eragon and Eldest alot so I don't think he copied off anybody.
