In Eragon, it only says she left never to be seen again. And there are many many ways to fake your own death. She could have known how to switch appearances with some one else and be masquerading as angela.

not neccisarily. If brom knew he could have been hiding it. I mean if they wanted him to know they both would have told him together but since he died he didnt get the chance. I realy think she is angela.

I really doubt that selena is angela, because when Eragon had the bones cast for him Angela said that only 2 others had.

Hmm.. psychologically it sounds kinda absurd..

Selena had always suffer and secretive in her whole life, and if she could somehow managed to live and 'pretend' to be another person,, at least perhaps she wouldn't be a 100% completly different woman.

Angela has always been cheerful and weird in a funny way. My brain just can't overcome the possiblity

Any one notice that if u take out the s in selena and replace it with a g and move it to before the n and replace the first e with an a and spell the name backwords, it spells angela? sort of strange...

I think it could be a possibility... She came to the varden when eragon did... if she is selena she might want to watch out for eragon or help him in anyway she can..... but with the fact that it said she came back from a long dissapearence and then died there or w/e... she could very well be just angela

Angela is not selena. she wasn,t trainerd by morzan to be that powerfull. and brom knew her well enough to miss her when she was gone, that means dead. Brom is his dad and his mom is dead.

i find it hard to believe that selena would be angela. despite the fact that she hung out with dragon riders, there is little other evidence that she was trained in magic.

i dont have the books in front of me but in one of them i remember someone telling eragon that morzan trained his wife in magic. small stuff though just so she could protect herself and do his erands or something i could be werong but i believe i remember correctley

and she could have used a trick the romans used
they asked to bury there king in a citys graveyard and then the leader jumped out and they massacred the city
so selena could have faked dead using the magic Morzan taught here and gone off and used those powers in her herbalist shop

We know that Selena's fate was a bad one. That isn't proof. and u know what? with your theory, ANYONE CAN BE SELENA!!!!!! I'm pretty sure that Selena IS dead, and we aren't supposed to question it. Kinda like Eragon will get power from the vault of souls. We are told it, and we aren't supposed to question it.

i don't think angela being selena is even possible. selena died and brom said its immpossible to bring people back from the dead because the spellcaster doing it will die.

angela coulden't be selena. selena is dead. angela doesen't have magic powers to change herself and she coulden't change herself by potion(its eragon not harry potter)

okay so i started this topic a while ago before my server crashed and everything died on my computer and i had to get a new name.

and i still hold true to my theorie about it. neither brom or eragon might have known tht ahe was who she was. even if brom knew, he might not told eragon for reasons of his own. just like he didnt tell eragon he was his father (a fact tht im sure most of us believe, or at least i do). i have browsed a coupl like this and i am almost sure she is.

Think: if selena saw what happened to murtagh with the scar, she would have wanted to save her other son from that horrible fate, and hidden him from the world. especially if he was broms son too. but then she grew to hate morzan and abandoned him and murtagh. like brom she would have to almost lose her identity, and become invisible. what better way than to die??

she would have to hide somewhere... carvahal? no to close. how about i become a herbalist in a big city? easy to hide there! notice too how she knows so many things about eragon.

she returned to Ur'rubaen and there, after a while, SHE DIED!! many people saw it, and its just not likely. she would know eragon was her son, and would probably behave very differently than angela does. not a chance.

If Selena's fortune was so terrible and if Selena is Angela why would Selena offer to read Eragon's future? Wouldn't she want to save her son from the same pain she endured?

well everyones fortunes are different. just beacuse my mopm is having a bad or a toothache doesnt mean i will have a bad day or a toothache now does it?

no, she left eragon with garrow and then she went back to uru'baen, where she died. idk if murtagh saw her die, but she did die in uru'baen
