Sweet Approach

IC: Samantha grumbled and mumbled to herself as she woke. Another night gone, another day wasted. she muttered in her mind. Her scar stretched a bit painfully as she got to her paws. Her stomach rumbled, and she nimbly dove into the waterhole and darted toward the tunnel that led to the ocean. She paused and flared her nostrils, flicking her tongue out to taste the surrounding water. Prey, southwest. She unfurled her wings and zipped forward, easily riding the currents in the salt-not-drink-water. She sighed as she caught sight of what she'd scented; a small bass. It was big, to be honest, but she'd caught bigger. Her sea-green-translucent-fish-scales flashed as she reared her head back to strike, jaws opened and her teeth bared. A shark sped forward from her left and snatched her meal right out from her nose. Enraged, she pursued the thief and overtook him quickly, stabbing him with shards of ice from her nostrils. He was pinned to the rocks, and she came in for the kill. She was holding him in her talons and heading back to her cave, nibbling contentedly at the shark's underbelly, when she saw a strange flash of red go across the surface of the water. Curious despite herself, she hid her prey and swam up to check it out. She slowed to a hover in the water, moving her wings slowly to stay stationary (and also hopefully disguise her with the surrounding sea-blue-green of the ocean), and cautiously peaked out. What she saw made her eyes widen with...what? Surprise? Pleasure? She couldn't tell for certain. _________________ Eka fricai un Shur'tugal. Wiol ono Rest in peace, ILS. You'll be greatly missed... Fenirexes flew low over the water, hoping that Mesaraih would be able to manage without hiim. He knew that he could, but he could not help feeling uneasy at times. A bit absently, he skimmed over the water to look for something to eat, the gnawing of hunger touching upon him in the subtlest of ways. Truthfully, he was thinking more about how lonely he was than the fish in the water, but by more luck than anything, he picked out a large shark who was lazily swimming high on the currents(of what kind he did not really know). With the shark in his mouth, he dived down into the ocean, submerging himself completely, and then flew out and settled himself on a jutting outcrop of rock, water spraying all around him and leaving sparkling droplets of water to slide down his body and wings as he bent down his neck to start eating. He thought he saw a small movement in the cave ahead of him, but decided to brush it off until after. _________________

IC: Sam raised her head a bit more out of the water, watching the ruby red creature as it dove down and caught a shark. It disappeared a moment before lifting into the air and settling on a rock outcropping. She swam slightly closer. It was really a dragon. Just like Violeta. Though it wasn't a lightning dragon, it was a dragon regardless. Should she approach it? She knew that some dragons served the tyrant king, Galbatorix. This one looked familiar to the red male she saw, flying overhead occasionally. But this one seemed friendly, and he was alone. She dove into the water and swam toward him. She paused and hovered a foot or two away, watching him from beneath the water. She poked her head up, her iridescent-pearl-blue eyes glittering with curiosity and wariness. She was almost directly in front of him, and knew that he would see her. She dove down again, out of sight, then came up to the surface a few feet to her right and peered out again. Her sea-green-translucent-fish-scales glittered with moisture and light from the sun. It was almost as if something was moving under there. And then, suddenly, the strange light was gone. Curious, he dove down into the water straight below him, looking around to see what he could find. At first, there seemed to be nothing out of the ordinary, until, almost before seeing, he sensed something around the rock. He turned carefully, wondering whether it would be hostile or not. _________________

She looked up and noticed that the red dragon was no longer there. She whirled around and darted behind a rock to hide, then held completely still. She saw a halo of red moments before she actually saw him. Her iridescent-pearl-blue-eyes widened and she backpedaled, wary. You can't breathe underwater, you idiot. Go back to the surface. she said, trying to sound firm and scolding but probably failing. She flicked her wings and darted forward, swimming underneath him and out into open water, her sea-green-translucent-fish-scales flashing in the sunlight when she moved. _________________ Eka fricai un Shur'tugal. Who are you? he asked, following her back to the surface. She seemed to be a female dragon, but he had hardly ever seen a dragon spend so much of their time under water, and there was something inexplicably different about her as well. _________________

It is rude to barge into a home and ask the name of the inhabitant before first introducing yourself. she scolded firmly, though not harshly. I'm Fenirexes, he added. He had never heard of any dragon before that would choose the coast as their home, and it increased his curiosity, but he decided to delay his questions until she told him who she was. _________________

Despite it's difference in appearance and character to most dragons he had met before, she was still beautiful and he was interested in what she had to say. It's nice to meet you, Sam. As off what I'm doing here, I suppose you could just say I wanted to take a little break from my troubles and go on a little vacation. _________________

She could feel herself relaxing out of the surly mood that she had woken up in this morning. The coast is a good place to go to unwind. I would show you around, maybe, but most of what I know is underwater, and no matter how long you can hold your breath, you can not breath underwater like I can. she said, and smiled mischievously, her iridescent-pearl-blue eyes glittering. You don't seem like other dragons, he said, examining her closely. He was a bit taken aback by the fact that she was talking to him in such a friendly manner, as if they were already friends, despite the fact that they had only just met each other. _________________

Not a pure-breed, or even a mix for that matter. There is another bloodline in my ancestry that weakens my Water and Ice heritage, but mostly, I am a Ice/Water Dragon. she said, banking around with an easy roll of her body. She hovered in front of him, her nostrils flaring as she took in his scent. Her iridescent-pearl-blue eyes glittered with mischief, and her delicate-petal-shaped ears twitched occasionally. I am more at home in the water than I am in the air. I can not breathe fire, and if I am in a warm climate for too long I become sluggish before going into a coma. she snorted lightly, sending bubbles dancing gently against his snout. She twisted away again. As she flitted away from Fenirexes, the thick roping scar at the hollow of her throat, shoulder, chest, sternum, edge of her wing membrane, and part of her side, flashed in the light of the sun. _________________ Eka fricai un Shur'tugal. He observed her as she continued to be playful, moving around the water effortlessly. Then, he noticed a scar that crossed a large part of her body. She stopped moving around and floated in place in the water so he could study it better; the scar was pale white against her translucent-fish-scales, which told that it had been dealt a while ago. Men. Sailors. They thought I was a deadly sea serpent or something when I came to the surface to look at them. They attacked me with fire and swords. Maybe a spear or two. I fought...then I woke up in my cave, and I had this scar. I don't know how I actually got it or how I got back to my cave...I just did. she finished, a bit lamely. It was a lot worse when it was fresh. Now it barely hurts, except when I'm near a warm object on that side. she said, snorting softly and sending bubbles whirling into the air. _________________ Eka fricai un Shur'tugal. It was unimaginable to him, not liking and even being weakened by heat or fire, and he was not sure he understood how Sam was able to bear it. However, he felt that if he expressed any of this he would appear rude, and he did not wish to seem so. She had been nice to him, and he didn't want her to think badly of him. Well, it's been nice talking to you, he said. Although I should probably head out now. _________________

Very well, I will lead you back to where you were. she said, and laughed. She twisted gracefully like an eel and slipped passed him, heading back toward the shore where he had first entered the water. She beat her wings and crested the surface, then beat them again and leapt into the air. She landed lightly on the ground and shook the water from her translucent-fish-scales, then sat and waited for Fenirexes to surface and join her. _________________ Eka fricai un Shur'tugal.
