Not being big headed or anything, but I reckon I'm a fast learner, and good at languages. :) Knowing a couple of other languages is always useful!

i only know english. i really want to learn german, but i would have to transfer to another school to do it... and i don't want that (there are three high schools in the pocatello school district). i can actually read german pretty well, and i know what some words mean just because i think they are a lot alike some words in english and i can usually figure out some others from the ones around them. my heritage is german and i just think german is the coolest!! ha ha.

i could NEVER learn spanish... or probably any other language for that matter... TOO HARD!!

I like German, I'm going to do a German GCSE, but it is confusing. I hate the fact you must change the word order- one sentence literally translates as "When it raining is, read I". Confusing!!! Learning words is easy, learning grammar is not!!!

People say "french is hard, english is hard, spanish is hard" well there are two points to that.

1. If you are being force to learn it then you might not like it if you are not in the mood of learning it.
2. 100% peer presure. If your friends hates french because he his getting low marks then he will be telling you that it is hard. Just try it yourself with a neutral mind to see if it is really that bad.

Note: French and Spanish are the same, I know because I know french and when I studied spanish I saw that they both shared a lot of things.

I know what you mean. I don't mean to boast, but I'm pretty good at German, and always get high marks. However, I find it hard, but that is what encourages me to learn it better! French doesn't interest me so much, but I still enjoy learning it.

English is hard.. But it sounds familiar. I have a problem remembering vocabulary and blank at proper grammar. That's why I never RP ing lol   I used to do the conversational speaking and I didn't pay attention to grammar as much. My college text books all in English and I can understand it perfectly.. I just don't look much at the pattern lol

lol you never see any fault?? lol—my native language is Indonesia. It's soooo easy it has NO grammar at all! well, no past tense, no present continues tense, no future, no if conditional, etc etc... all the words represented its meaning just literally: all in present tense, you only need to add some words to indicate the time or any conditional events.

lol, sounds good! What I hate about some languages though, is masculine and feminine. German has neuter as well, which is annoying!

I know! My mother taught me that, she was 4 years studying in Siegen, Germany.. But I'm not interesting at studying Dutch lol.. Once I tried learning Japanese, at the beginning it's practically easy, until it reached a point where the level is suddenly become very hard.

I think 3 languages are the most my brain holds. It's hard enough trying to remember the difference between french and German in lessons! I get the numbers confused a lot.

Well, if you learn things at different times in your life, they become second nature. Urdu was my first language, and I learned English when I was about 3 / 3 1/2, and Arabic when I was 6 or 7, and the others later in life. So my first 3 were down pat before I starred learning more!

lol, I only started German 2 years after French, which I started when I was 11 or so. Apparently it is easier to learn a language at a young age.

Before 13, if I recall correctly. Thats when the most of your language-receptive brain cells are still alive.

Note: French and Spanish are the same, I know because I know french and when I studied spanish I saw that they both shared a lot of things.

they're not the same but very similar.
in my opinion the to languages being similar makes it harder it learn
