Hawke and Elisa
Dang it! This is my last charry for a while, I swear it! No, but this really is my last one for a while. :P
Name: Hawke
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Skills:
'Hawkes' Vision: A side-affect of his experimentation, and because of when it happened, he has named it as it is. He can see around four or five seconds into the future, enough to anticipate an opponent's attack before it occurs. He can only 'see' the future, not hear it as well. Also, just because he can see an opponent's moves doesn't mean that he can react quickly enough to them if they are extremely quick. He can control the ability well, but his energy is drained gradually in a fight when using this ability.
Senses and Reflexes: Because of the Hawk blood mixed in with his own, his senses are heightened incredibly, his reflexes slightly. Because of this, his sight is as great as an Elf's and his hearing even greater. His reflexes are also very quick a human, and being a Rider quickens them even more.
Sword and Magic: One thing that truly stands out for him. His ability with a sword is matched by few. His technical skill with a blade is really good, and when compounded with his heightened senses and reflexes makes him a great swordsmen. His skill with magic is probably average for a human Dragon Rider.
Wind: The intended effect of the experimentation on him was to give him great control over the element that the animal that was infused into him has domain over. This gave him great control over wind. He can use wind to fly and can create mini-tornadoes. However, mini-tornadoes take great energy and often leave him very vulnerable afterwards. He usually uses wind to either push enemies back with gales or surround his body in a powerful but brief current of wind which offers maximum protection.
Race: Human Dragon Rider - Has infused blood of a Hawk
Eyes: Eyes: A dull blue
Hair: Shaggy black hair that falls to the base of his neck in the back and over his forehead in the front.
Home Village: Dras-Leona
Parents: Unknown
Siblings: Unknown
Personality: His personality around others is usually dull, and he only opens up to his dragon for the most part. He displays an interest in action and a good fight, which was one of the reasons why he volunteered to help escape from that experimentation building. Some may think of him as emotionless, but really, he just hasn't gotten used to being around people much because of his recent escape from cruel imprisonment. He uses logic and reason to solve most problems and thus remains more of a 'brain' person. He absolutely hates the water and won't even step in shallow pools of it. He is rather direct and to the point, and it shows in the way he fights. However, despite being almost independent, he cares deeply for the few friends he has and will do anything to protect them. He doesn't really care about the conflict between the Varden and the Empire but would side with the Varden if he had to. He can also be very cold towards others just as easily, however. Before Elisa had hatched for him, he had felt really no attachment to life. While he had broken out of his imprisonment, he had felt no real connection to anyone, for the people he had broken out with had fled the area quickly, leaving him alone. That is when he found Elisa's egg, and for that, he is extremely grateful to her and considers himself in her debt. This shows that while he may be cold or emotionless, he can be compassionate and caring as well. Furthermore, he is overprotective of Elisa
Character History: Not long after he was born, probably not even a year, he was stolen from his parents by a group they had never even seen before. During the crossfire, he was sure that his parents had been killed. The leader of the group, Gretchen, had confirmed so in the Ancient Language. He then had been taken to an Experimentation Center. He can only remember brief glimpses of his first few years there but he can remember them nonetheless. He knows that because he was young, they had infused hawk's blood within him at a young age, allowing it to grow and manifest as he grew older. He remembers what happened to him as of age eight vividly. That was when the actual experiments had taken place. They had messed with his body and examined the effects of the Hawk's blood, carefully watching it's progress as it matured within him. He knew that there were many other children there also being experimented on, but he had never met them until he was twelve. Then, at age fifteen, one of them had approached him with a plan of escape. The child who had thought of the idea in the first place had wolf's blood within him, and had appeared ravenous because of this, but Hawke (the name given to him after the experiments on his body) had eagerly went along with the plan, desperate for escape.
Four others had went along with it as well. It had been implemented when Hawke was sixteen, and at first, everything had went according to plan. Every day, guards had stuck two trays of food through a small slot in every cell, which held two people each. The actual prisoners were given drugs to suppress magic and the effects of their mutations. They stopped eating the food for three days and could feel their abilities returning. They had broken out through the use of their respective elements and released all of the prisoners, causing a riot. In the confusion, they confiscated several weapons from a secluded room that held said weapons and went to the front office with the riot, which consisted of about thirty or so people, which was big enough for the small building. They reached the main control room and killed the people there. That was when things had started to go terribly. Unfortunately, during the experiments of every person in the building, the scientists had planted a small unit in their cells. Upon the press of a button, the cells would radiate electricity which would slow the heart and inevitably kill the host. One specific scientist held the buttons to every individual prisoner, and about twenty of the prisoners died because of this. However, Hawke had found the scientist and killed him before taking all of the buttons. The ten or so prisoners left had killed many of the scientists because of the now gone restrictions on their power and held another one in a life or death situation. That scientist had went through all of the remotes that could kill each and every prisoner and cut them off, knowing full well that he would be killed if he had pressed the button for one of them, which would be all he would have time to do before he would be impaled.
The rest of it had been a success, and the ten surviving prisoners had escaped the building. However, things had ultimately ended up worse than Hawke had originally thought they would. He was now alone and forced to survive on his own. He had survived until a month ago when he collapsed in a forest, desperately searching for water. He was almost to the verge of giving up on living when he found a dragon egg, one of a silver color with dark gray veins running through the exterior of the shell. Hawke hadn't realized the stone's importance until later that night, the egg hatched and out came a silver hatchling. He had named his indirect lifesaver, Elisa.
Weapons: Recently, he has stolen a very fine sword, probably not of human make because of the metal that made it and it's details. It is a thin greatsword that stands almost as tall as himself, but he is able to swing in one hand almost effortlessly. The grip of the blade is wrapped in thick silk. The crossguard is a golden color and shines in the light, giving the sense that it is actually real gold, but Hawke is unsure about that detail. The blade itself is black and has several undecipherable runes running down the blade. The pommel contains a small sapphire. Because of the size and power of the blade, he often throws darts of wind out from his blade that lengthen and strengthen his blows.
Likes: Wind, swordsmanship, friends, and Elisa
Dislikes: Crowds of people, arrogance, ignorance
Weakness/Fears: He cannot swim, and he is afraid of something happening to Elisa because she is still small.
Animal Companions: None
Character's Physical Description: Hawke stands at around 6'1", and has a very toned frame, which is slightly obvious when compared to his weapon. His hair is black and slightly shaggy, falling around the base of his neck in the back and above his eyes in the front. His eyes are a dull blue but are getting livelier everyday with his growing connection to Elisa and his steadily increasing happiness. He wears a black and red cape and black trousers, and has very little facial hair as well. His sword is slung around his back on a strap that goes from his left shoulder to his right hip. Because he hasn't been a Rider for long, no real physical changes have occurred. He wears a silver pendent around his neck as well.
Dreams: He wishes to be content in life and travel with Elisa.
Reasons for Dreams: He wants to actually live and be able to dismiss his time as a prisoner.
Alignment: None really, but the Varden if he had to choose.
Dragon's Name: Elisa
Age: Around sevem months
Gender: Female
Parents: Unknown
Siblings: Unknown
Personality: She enjoys teasing Hawke, and has recently gotten to the point to where she can communicate fluidly mentally with him, which pleases the both of them greatly. She has a playful attitude that keeps Hawke amused and content with his life. Recently, he told her about his experiences before he had met her which saddened her greatly, and now she tries to please him whenever and however she can. She also has what Hawke refers to as the 'small dragon syndrome' in which she picks fights with those bigger and older than her, which leaves Hawke constantly looking our for her. Currently, she seems to have the opposite personality of Hawke, but she hopes to change him to be more playful, although he is playful with her and teases her.
Character History: When she hatched, she could call back on Hawke's wide-eyed, skeptical expression. She had hatched in the middle of a forest and snatched up a rabbit right next to her, which frightened Hawke. After coming into contact with his right palm, he was branded with the Gedway Ignasia and knocked unconscious for a few minutes, but of course, she had no reason why he had 'fallen asleep' at the time, and had poked around curiously, trying to find water and food wherever she could. Her Bond Partner had woken up soon only to fall asleep (for real, this time), and she curled up to his warm body. This was when their bonds of trust and compassion had first been established. She and him had mostly lived in the forest until about a week ago when Hawke finally approached the open world once more. Now, they are traveling from city to city using Hawke's flight, traveling mainly because Elisa is curious to meet others.
Color: Silver
Physical Appearance: Elisa stands just over Hawke's hip, which although he won't admit, he regrets because she is too large to stand on his shoulder. However, her wings are developing and she is beginning to fly easily now, but she obviously cannot carry Hawke on her as well. Her silver scales glow with a brilliant radiance when hit by light and her talons are a light gray, as well as the spines that line down her back. Despite her youth, her talons and teeth are sharp enough to cut through skin easily and do painful damage, but she is hardly a threat to anyone yet. Her silver eyes are large, curious, and bold, almost daring others to challenge her.
EDIT: After experimentation by Galbatorix recently, Elisa has grown in size equivalent to a dragon over a year old. She is possibly one of the most agile dragons in the land. Also, now that she has reached six months in age, she can breathe lightning. (She's a Lightning Dragon)
Dreams: To brighten Hawke and become stronger, possibly finding a true meaning in life.
Reasons for Dreams: She sympathizes him and his past and wishes to change it to be better.
Alignment: Whatever side Hawke is on.
