Star Wars Parallel
I don't know if this has been posted before, but I noticed an interesting parallel between the Eragon series and the Star Wars series.
Before you scoff and shun me, read on.
Eragon:Luke
Dragon egg:Death star plans
Brom:Obiwan
Durza captures Arya, Arya sends egg to Brom:Darth Vader boards ship and captures Princess Leia, Leia sends death star plans to Obiwan
(Oh God its late I forget his name he's Morzan's son and Eragon's friend):Han Solo
Saphira and Arya crash through the sapphire, giving Eragon the chance to finish Durza:Han Solo owns Darth Vader, giving Luke the time to destroy the Death Star
The list goes on, I could come up with more if I wasn't so damn tired. Thoughts?

I'm not too keen on Star Wars, but I see your point. By the way, Morzan's son and Eragon's friend is Murtagh. And you're right, the topic has already been made, but you came up with some new and interesting points that nobody else has noticed!

i find that the "ancient language" is parralle (spelled that wronge) to the hill mans language, in the book called blue sword... C.P could probabley be sued for plagerism of "blue sword"... but that would be bad... eragon i AWSOME.
has anybody read Blue sword?
also maby the reason CP made Zar'roc a red sword.. and elf vowed to not make swords agian (so eragon cant have a blue sword) is so that the plagerism isn't so obvious
only a thought... but i Really do not want CP to be sued

You're right Sham. There are many elements similar to Star Wars. There are also some similarities with the LOtR series also.
Being the genre of Science fiction, I think it's bound to have similarities. And we know from the interviews with CP that he is high in the SCI-Fi category.

Basically, you could say that about any book/film etc. Most storylines are similar to others anyway.

That's exactly my point. Since it spins off science fiction, there are always going to be similaties with either one or another story. At least I like to keep in mind that some story must have serve as a model for all others.

I just finished reading the first book. I was kind of surprised at how much is from books other than Star Wars. Then I went to Amazon to see if I was just imagining things and read some of the reviews from other people.
I'm still looking forward to the movie. Especially Saphira!
