OOC: The first application for Elcyon and Equinox's children!

Name: Railyn

Age: Hatchling

Skills: Railyn can breathe fire pretty well. She can force it into a steady, but long stream of burning flame. It can shoot pretty far, farther than most dragons can do. She has inherited her mother's ability to breathe a shadow breath too. Rai doesn’t know what she can do with it, exactly. She does, however, intend to find out what it means. Rai can do a few combat moves that her mother and father taught her. She was eager to learn and can fight both in the air and on land. Her best technique is her 360-tail whip.

Eyes: Yellow/gold, pale as the moon

Siblings: a brother, Luxray and a sister, Incindea.

Character Personality: Railyn is quite an obnoxious dragon. She doesn’t like to do what she’s told and will often do everything the opposite of what her parents tell her. Since she is second oldest in the clutch, Rai attempts to make herself look stronger than her older sister. Rai’s the exact opposite of her mother. While El is shy, quiet, and giving, Rai is loud and doesn’t care who knows what’s on her mind. She believes that if she doesn’t like something or disagrees, she will let everyone know so there’s no confusion. Rai also loves to protect her family and friends fiercely, and in doing so fighting. She will fight tooth and nail in order to keep the piece between her family and the world so that no other fighting will take place. Under this façade of burliness, Rai has a tender and artistic side. Like her mother, she enjoys to read and write. She had caught Elcyon writing in a journal one day and from that moment on, Rai had to know what was going on. She’s also extremely nosy and will demand to know what is going on if someone’s keeping secrets from her.

Character History: Railyn’s egg was laid on the island Illium, where Elcyon was born a long time ago. She was second in the clutch, after Incindea and before Luxray. From the moment she was born, Railyn was getting into a ton of trouble. Rai would sniff around where her nose didn’t belong and snoop in on what her parents were talking about. One day, she spotted her mother writing in a journal and demanded to know what she was doing. El taught her how to write and draw and read. She even made Rai her own journal to record her own personal thoughts and ideas. Rai wasn’t shy about sharing her accomplishments. She would always show off whenever Incindea was around, to prove to her big sister that she was just as old and important as she was. Rai was even the first one to fly. She hated coming in last, and was quite competitive. However, she made a terrible mistake that suddenly got her into trouble more often than once. One day, Rai followed El into the forest, though she wasn’t allowed to. After a while, Rai couldn’t find her mother anymore. In fact, she had disappeared completely. Rai felt terribly lost, until she found the Tree of Prosperity, although she hadn’t known what it was called then. She was able to approach the tree without feeling sick, and she had almost touched it, when Elcyon found her. El had given her quite the scolding, and forced Rai to go straight home. Rai didn’t listen. She demanded to know why this specific tree was off-limits and from there, El had no choice but to tell her inquisitive daughter the curse, the darkness, and the history of the tree and why it was so dangerous. Rai listened intensively at her mother’s words, without saying a word, all the while wondering just what happened all those years ago.

Weapons: Her claws, teeth, and combinations of breath.

Likes: To lead, to read, to write, and to talk.

Dislikes: Evil, being banned from something, and being left behind.

Animal Companions: None

Character Physical Description: Railyn is a very feminine female dragon, quite beautiful and attractive. Her scales are blue with silver fading from her sides to her belly that shines moonlit silver in the night. The blue scales the tint to dark blue on her back. Her wingspan is relatively large and wide, the top is blue but on the bottom it’s just as silver as her belly. Her eyes reflect that of the moon when it is fullest; a pale, golden/yellow color that seems to shimmer just like her scales. Rai’s tail is also very long, graceful, and deadly.

Dreams for the Future: She wants to see everything her mother and father has seen, and she wants to know what her true name is.

Reasons for Dreams: When she was younger than she already is, Rai’s mother Elcyon told her stories of Alagaesia and of all the adventures she went on with her best buddy Phalynx, and how she met Equinox, Shayara, Ramoth, Solarae, Hobsyllwin, Aeraldi, and many more. Railyn has also heard that dragons can discover what their true name is and she is very curious to learn hers. The true name would make her feel more confident about herself in all that she did, though she wouldn’t admit it to anyone.
