What part will they play in book 4. I wonder

One of them could be the next rider. Whatever happens, it seems they will probably play a big part in the next book.

oh no problem. I just figured that because everyone assumes Arya but she is too obvious of a choice I also considered Nasuada because everyone says she and Murtagh will get together but that doesn't seem likely

I highly doubt it. If they did they would have talked to Nasuada or stayed with the Varden.

I (surprisingly) agree with gomensigh, while Arya may know a lot of magic and be a good swordsman the dragon rider have hundreds of secrets that they gathered over thousands of years that they don't share with outsiders. Also can you imagine how awkward it would be to Eragon mentor Arya, not to mention the other problems of getting any rider ready to fight Galby in such limited time.

i think the strangers do know the some kind of secret. has anybody thought that they might be a galby's wife and his daughter i know galby is no big on marriage but he can have slaves and all. i think they are going to be an important part in book 4. coz we know whoever hate empire goes to varden right? so they were describe that they were torture, physically and might be sexually abused and they were looking like though and warrior like. so they must be important if they were prisoners and don't forget angela only tells fortune when solebum speak to them.

because galby is very self centered person and keeping his personality in mind he dont care of lesser beings like women, kids and all. he only cares right now to get saphira so he can use her to make other dragon and dragon riders under his control. and remember that womens mind was like iron when eragon tried to touch her and saphira also felt something and she was scared of saphira i think they have been contact with galby's dragon so they flinch. and also in first book brom told eragon that the person who can shield there mind are handful of people in al.

may be they are from kuasta where brom was originally was and may be they are related to him or something. i cant put a finger yet but something about there behavior made me think that they have to related to galby or some other very important person.

I think these strangers come back as fortune tellers maybe - but can tell the future better Angela did, like they would know what would happen to Eragon in a days time and things.

CP has said that we will see more of them. But weather if that will be in the book or in a new series remains to be seen.

Paolini said that all of Galbatorix's relatives were dead, and they can't be the next Rider. Neither of them.

I think CP said that they have a plot in a different series he plans on making.

So they might not be in this Inheritance series, and come in, in some other series. It would have been cool to see them a Galbatorix's sisters or something - but unfortunately CP has said all his relatives are dead.

Yes, but it does rule out the two stranger which was eragon+arya's point.

But adding to that CP has also said alot more about the next rider. Which rules out most the main characters. And according to my opinion every one besides Arya.

The will have a role in the last book if I remember it correct. And I also believe that they will have book of their own in the future if CP would continue to write in Alagesia.

@gomenesigh. The strangers really do not have a chance of being the next rider(s). Arya has the best chance of being the next rider in my opinion.

I find it pretty sad for how they were used in Inheritance... Even if it was saving Roran, they still should have had a bigger role...

I'll have a look once I get Inheritance as well.
