Does anyone have any idea what the Vault of Souls is...? It's the only part of Angela's prediction that is a total mystery to me

Presuming where dead people go to rest, hence the vault and souls part. The vault part suggests it is locked, and eragon's true name will open it

Most likely some old forgotten magic. Or Galbatorix's magical name.

mayby...or mayby he will revive someone to help him, like brom or vreal... hmm Mayby he absorbs souls of the dead like he does to his surroundings.

I think the vault of souls is located in vroengard. When eragon gets there he has to say his real name to unlock it. I think he will find his real name on the real eragons swrd that ha may find under the menoa tree. When he finally does unlock it i think saphira and eragon will be given all of the knowledge and power of the dead that reside in the vault. This would mean that eragon could completely turn elf or some other changes will happen.
Another idea i had ties into him and arya. When he is given all this wisdom and knowledge maybe arya realises that he has all the experience and wisdom he didnt have earlier. This means they would fit together.
Finally i think eragon faces galby and defeats him with his fav word, brisingr. Him and arya then sale off together at the end

I mean L.O.T.R is practically the sameas this trilogy. The vault is just like when aragorn goes to get the ghosts. They both have an elf in them and that elf is in king of a relationship. Also the start is kinda the same as it starts in a small village when some new thing comes to it (ring/dragon). You can then figure some other things from that usch as brom will rise again like Gandalf.

Eragon will probably get there in the mid-end of the book, which is where and when the histories of his parents and the past riders will be explained, before he faces Galbatorix for the last (and first!) time.

If it'll be the actual souls of the specific people we think of, or souls at all, remains to be seen.

i think, its were he almosts gives up, like hes running from galby, and gets there, "when all hope is lost, go to the vault of souls, call you name to open it." (mister werecat) he almost gives up and the end of the book is there.

i think it could be there, but maybe some where significant, like a place that is important in rider history, more so then vroengard. sumtin not thought important, maybe near where brom died, meeti his soul as sum suchest.

Perhaps it is under the ruins of Ilirea, (Uru'bean), and has something to do with where the old riders are buried? Also, it being near Uru'bean would give Galbatorix direct access to it, perhaps the root of his ever-growing power?

My theory however (to be picked at openly) is that the vault of souls will allow Eragon to learn to use magic from all of the souls that have died. I dont think he will be able to control them like a sorcerer or anything but he will be able to pull from thier energies like he could the ants and other living beings. This would give him a larger base to pull his energy from and make him more powerful... also it could allow him to make contact with people like Brom or Eragon the first rider.

possibly, i still think hes gonna almost give up, or sumdim. though he could have vrael talk to him or sumdim. the vault of souls could be on that mountain where vrael died! and thtas why he went there! it could have sum signifacant stuff to do with his mom, or with the riders!
