ya but i dont know if you guys remember, in i think it was eldest, it said that the dragon eggs only hatched when they felt it was the right time, mostly when there was enough food, and Galbotorix stole eggs that were meant for riders and also if an egg was entrusted to become a dragon for a rider then a certain enchantment was placed over it so the last dragon has to be tame.

Yes, that's probably very likely, but we don't know that for sure. It might not have the spell on it for some reason. It's still possible as nothing has yet been properly confirmed.

true. if its locked up there is no food, there for won't hatch. but i think thes spell gets casted when they take it. not later on. i'm sure the parents want it done then and there so they are present and knows nothing wrong is said

okay so i think murtag+thorn will turn good and saphira and thorn will get togethr, then murtag and eragon rally the elves and the varden and they attack galby , but the third egg breaks or just before it breaks some one steals it like roran or arya and it haches. with the third egg safe and all the dragons on the good side they combine all their powers or something but are still too weak and at the last moment gladear and the morning sage guy come out of nowhere and him and galby have a big fight gladear and the elf win but they die from being too old. so then all the dragons live in peace and new riders are formed and eragon is king.

So if Galbatorix so desperately wanted a dragon-- using food theory why didn't he just stuck up loads of food in the treasury,, and calmly wait for the egg to eventually hatch as a baby dragon,, and MAKE someone (his choosen rider) intentionally touch the baby dragon ???

because that would their would be no book because he could have done that with all 3 eggs

LOL! After going over the book I found the excerpt in which Brom tells Eragon that the wild dragons of old may have determined where to live and mate depending on the availiability of food. If it weren't for the fact that we have no confirmation that the wild dragons are still in Alagaesia, yes, it would be a lot easier to just eat all Galbatorix's supply of food and let him starve.

a spell was set over it to keep him from hatching until the right rider came along.

Back to the topic,, I think whoever dragon that would come next is going to come from an egg hatch. What I'm not very sure is-- how many dragon egg are now left in the entire Alagaesia?? Galbatorix still own one in his castle. And no chance for it to hatch there by itself (because no food in the treasury).. And so I think, whoever this 'infant' dragon is, should be waiting for a Rider to hatch

Personally, I think that skrewkin wasn't forced into slavery, but somewhat like hipnotized because it chose Galby over it's origanal rider. Galby could have said somethuing like he was better than his original rider and could ofer more power and we will be a higher rank rider if u come with me, but he must have used magic.

The elves originally, and then when the Riders were permanently established their elders, put a spell on the hatchlings inside the eggs given to the Rider's to keep them from hatching until the person meant to be their Rider came into their presence. Brom told Eragon that in the first book at the beginnning of their journey. I remember because Eragon said something like," You mean that Saphira might not have hatched for me?"

And then Brom said, this I'm sure he said," Quite possibly if she hadn't liked you."

"Layered within the enchantment Queen Tarmunora oversaw was the mechanism that allows a hatchling to be linked with his or her Rider. When a dragon decides to give an egg to the Riders, certain words are said over the egg─which I shall teach you later─that prevents the dragon inside from hatching until it is brought into contact with the person with whom it decides to bond. As dragons can remain in their eggs indefinitely, time is of no concern, nor is the infant harmed. You yourself are an example of this Saphira."

So there it is, CP gave us that piece of information through two different characters.

That's totally correct; that's why it says the Varden hunted than the candidiates for which the egg would hatch; I believe thuis information was given to us through Ajihad when Eragon first arrived at Farthen Dûr.

As Firetongue says, rumors are flying around about the egg being green because Arya eyes are green, as well as her magic. There is no confirmation whatsoever by CP of this information being correct.

Look, i have heard many sites say that they have been reasured by CP that the dragon will be green. Even on Inheritance forums.com, they have a site color of a green dragon.
