OOC: Mind if I join?

IC: The closest dragon to Gornath's call suddenly stopped in midflight and executed a 180 degree turn. She laughed lightly, and thought, He's lucky I decided to stay on the islands a few more days. She began a swift flight in the direction of the island.

The young, star-colored dragoness was Phalynx, so it was no surprise when her scales began to radiate with silver light, and her eyes glowed a blinding gold. It would be an intimidating sight to anyone on the ground, which was what she was counting on.

Phal flared her wings and roared explosively when she came directly overhead of the urgals at the mouth of the cave. The urgals all ducked and covered their heads, startled, and some ran a short distance. Before their spellcasters could react, Phal blasted them with a fire resembling burning starlight. Her attack cleared the entrance of the cave, and she worked her way in, clawing and slashing. Her magic vision allowed her to successfully dodge the mages' attacks, and she was soon in the chamber with Gornath.

You called? she said to him, her eyes sparkling with humor. She continued her onslought, and smacked an urgal thirty feet into the air with her tail when it ventured too close.

Gornath knew that h would have to make sure everything was in order and that there was nothing histile in those caves as it would be quite while before they made it back to the surfce of the island, so he went to onne of the caves that Phalynx hadsaid something had been moving in and began to check it out. He searchd high and low and could find nothing, he came back out of the cave and asked her, "Are you sure you saw something move in that cave?"





OOC: maby make the being you saw a shadow creature, you seem to like that, as I am out of ideas and we can go from there...And that could be why Phal saw it and Gornath did not.

OOC: lol, works for me.

IC: Phal nodded. It is quite far in the back of the caves. Hmm, I shall go and investigate. I'm certain I saw something back there, I just can't tell what it is yet, she said.

Phalynx flew forward and entered the narrow tunnels. The walls were far too close together for her to fly, so she was forced to walk into the darkness. The black area swallowed her silver form, and she seemed to disappear.

Phal continued walking towards the source of the movement, following the tunnels. Suddenly, everything went black, and she froze. Phal let a stream of starfire escape into the cave, and the blackness was immediately broken up. Something disrupted my vision for a moment, she half-growled, half-whispered back to Gornath, Something doesn't want us in these caves.

As soon as she said that, Phal heard a threatening scuffling noise in front of her. She backed up a few paces and restarted her sight to see what it was. She jerked her head back just in time when a spidery appendage flew out at her face. She gazed in horror at the cave, which was literally covered in small spider/crab/monster things.

OOC: lol, ever seen the movie Cloverfield? The little critters from that movie are what I'm basing these on, except made of shadow. hee hee, they're creepy.

IC: Phalynx bathed the tunnels in silver flame, trying to destroy the advancing swarm. However, there were too many of them, and they had begun to leap onto her back. Phal shook them off, keeping her wings folded tightly for their safety, and slashed the fallen creatures.

The silver dragoness backed away, overwhelmed by the constant stream of shadow creatures that were snapping and slashing at her forelegs and face. Her starfire was very effective, but so were their numbers. She finally retreated outside of the tunnels.

Okay, she said, panting, Got any good extermination plans? I have a feeling those things aren't going to let us in. Phal grinned at Gornath, and ruffled her now-loosened wings.

OOC: Ummm..... no.... they were pretty much extremely vicious and attacked ruthlessly... lol But I know what we can do.

IC: Phal nodded. If those things are being controlled by someone, then I suggest we find that someone. Come with me, there's a smaller, more secretive tunnel down there, and there are no creatures to bar the way. I'm guessing that our mystery controller could be somewhere in that tunnel, she said, motioning down to the bottom of the stone, just above the cave floor.

Phal clipped her wings to lose altitude and then flared them out again to slow herself. She hovered in front of the tunnel, which she now realized was behind an outcropping of rock. It was well-hidden, but nothing could be hidden from her forever. She folded her wings and landed at the entrance. It would be a tight fit for Gornath, and she wouldn't be able to fly, but it would work.

Gornath followed after Phal, and barely managed to get inside, he said, "We better hurry, because if they come after us, I can't turn to defend myself." He followed Phal down the long narrow tunnel and came into a very secluded chamber that was easily large enough for both Phal and Gornath to gly without touching.

Gornath watched as Phalynx began to glow and walk toward the shades, as she did one of them pointed at her and said something in an unknown tongue and a tenticaled(sp?) shadow beast came and was about to land on Phalynx, when he tackled it, he ignored the many cuts inflicted upon him by its tentacles, he has to keep Phalynx safe, for she was the one who had to stop the gate to the shadow relm. He said, "If you can handel the shades I will not allow any of these shadow beasts to harm you, I will hold them off, but you must stop the shades!"

OOC: i'm going to join if that's alright and can I bring Kit into this one or do you just want Shyara? also, i don't know if i will be on, so if I'm not just answer my question, please, and go on with your turns and i'll get in when i can.

Shyara, I would like to keep onnly dragons here

OOC: okay

IC: Shyara was flying out over the ocean by herself. Kit and Shyara wanted some alone time back at their house and Shyara was eager to explore areas she had never been to before. She figured that she was around the island of Sharktooth, from the maps she had seen. She was gliding gracefully when she sensed a strong amount of magic being used. She dropped down into the salt water and swam toward the island.
As she neared the island she saw in front of her a very large fish swim by so she ducked under water for a snack. She wasn't as fast as the fish but she was bigger and had more stamina, she could also hold her breath for a very long time. The fish swam into a cave in the rock face of the island, it was big enough for her to follow so she did. It became darker but she could still see well because of her dragonic eyes. She followed the fish in farther and soon it became black. She tried to turn around but she could not find the way she had come, she couldn't see anything. She was about to panic when she realized something about the water. It was more ariated on one side, so she turned that way and went, thinking that it would lead out of the cave/tunnel.
She could feel the tunnel taking an upward turn, different from the downward that she had felt before. As the water became more ariated she could start to see light in front of her. Her head burst out of the water and she looked around, This is not the ocean, this is a cave. The wall were covered with a glowing rock and that's where the light came from. Shyara picked on up and looked at it. It looked like a large diamond, but not diamond she had seen glowed like this. She did her best and managed to put six in the pack she always kept on her. It was designed so that she could use it for her stuff. Suddenly she felt an itch on her side and she rubbed up against the wall of glowing-crystal-diamond. Her scales scratched it easily since they are the hardest she, or anyone she's met, knows of. Some of the dust landed on her and stuck to her wet body, this made the darkness where ever she walked retreat quickly. It was brighter that anything she could think of, even Phalynx and light abilities, but didn't hurt her eyes when she was this close to it. Shyara decided to get wet again, then she rubbed her whole body against the glowing-crystal-diamond and became a light in the darkness. You could not tell she was there unless you were standing within ten feet of her, everything else she would be blinding light.
She was about to get back into the water and get back out to sea when she heard a roar. She looked around her and could see no exit, even though she had lite the entire cavern up; it was just an empty cavern with no exits. She went to the side that she had heard the roar from and touched her nose to the wall. IT WENT RIGHT THROUGH IT. She pulled her nose back then stuck her head completely through and brought it back. This is natural magic! I didn't even feel it. No magician could have done this. She heard the roar again, and it was coming from behind the Magic Wall. It was a dragon's, one of her kind and it was in trouble. She rushed through into the tunnel, a blinding light. She followed the roars, and tried to remember the way back. As she got nearer to the source of the sound she recognized it. There were two distinct roars, one from Gornath and one from Phalynx, each dragon has his/her's own unique roar.
She turned the corner and enter a cavern, just big enough for four dragons to fit semi-comfortable. There were nine shades fighting with Gornath and Phal, and bunch of little shadow type creatures that ran away from the light Shyara had. She knew the other two dragons would not be able to tell that it was her because of the light she was emanating. Phal, Gornath, it is me, Shyara, shield your eyes anyway you can. This light will blind you till I get closer. Phal, you might be able to use your special vision to kill the shades now that they are blinded. If I come closer they will be able to see and continue fighting, so I will remain here, this light is keeping these dark-ghost-shadows away for now.

OOC: I hope this isn't too long

They chamber that Shyara came out of is way way back. it is going to take a while for Gornath to find it. And i was thinking that we could use these, Star-Stones to create a barrier to keep the darkness from coming back. but the reason Shyara didn't say anything about it to the others is partailly because there are still shades and because that would offer a solution to the problem and there would be no reason to continue the story, which i'd like to do. Plus Shyara can't remember exactly where the cave was and it is protected by a natural magic, that Shyara couldn't even detect.

OOC:The rp isn't going to end soon, because I think Phal is going to go into the shadow "relm" with Shyara and Gornath is going to find his way to whatever is causeing all of this.

OOC: okay, by the time Gornath would get back, the portal will be closed and you will be alone. and one more thing, Shyara is the dragon, Shyra is the Elf maybe I shouldn't've picked names that close

OOC: LOL I don't think im explaining it correctly, I mean that there is going to be another portal Gornath is going to find it. WHen he does he will them meet up with the other two.

OOC: okay. umm you might was to edit and say how Gornath found the Star-Stone cavern since Shyara didn't lead him to it. And that what i name the rock, Star-Stone. oh and i'd like to point this out to; the Star-Stone has no magic properties, just the room it is in is camouflaged by magic that is undetectable.

IC: Shyara jumped through the portal right behind Phalynx, but did not see her when she came out the other end. Shyara used her 'magic nose' to double check the portal exit and found that her and Phal did not come out at the same spot. A Shade must've changed the exits when I was in there. Shyara walked around alittle in the cavern she ended up in and found that this one, was completely sealed; she tested ever inch but not exit at all, now that the portal had closed. She roared, and it echoed off the walls not going any farther. She tried to call for help, but that too bounced off the wall; no one could hear her, she was completely alone.

She used her 'magic nose' to sense the magic flowing around her and found that the cavern she was in was above a very large subterranean lake, its immense cavern was through ten feet of solid rock beneath her; She couldn't feel anything in the rock around or above her so she figured it was solid, much much thicker than underneath her. Shyara quieter herself and focused all her energy into her Fire-Lung then realeased it in a stream of blood colored fire. The fire was concentrated and hot enough that it started to melt the rock moments after touching it. Though she was making good progress, it would still take her another hour or two to make a hole big enough for her to get out of.

OOC: lol, Phal's in a different place entirely. It may take her a while to meet up with the others.

IC: Phalynx's heart stopped for an instant when she came out the other side of the portal. There was nothing but intense darkness, no matter where she looked. She illuminated her scales, but not even her light could pierce it. The Shadow Realm... so you've decided to take me here, she hissed to the shades that she knew were around her. The darkness was occasionally lit by blackish-purple lightning that seemed to dart around clouds of the dark mist-clouds. The thunder was low and menacing, a symbol of the power that dwelled in this place.

Phal turned on her sight, and in an instant she could see the magic and the shadows. However, there was no light in this place, other than the faint bursts of dark lightning. She could only see where the darkness was deeper, or where the magic flowed. She suddenly sensed movement to her right and spun out of the way as a shade flashed right past her, carried on the currents by magic. There was no floor in this place, so Phal was constantly hovering. She turned her head from side to side, sweeping the area for more signs of danger. She could see some of the shades through the darkness, preparing to attack.

They're not all here. Three of them must have taken the portal to another area. They must still be out there, trying to open the door, Phal thought. Suddenly she remembered Shyara. She had sensed the dragoness leaping into the portal behind her, and now cursed the fact that she hadn't closed it after she jumped in. Shyara had probably ended up wherever the other three shades had, or worse, in the Shadow Realm where she would be blind.

OOC: Remember that the order is Me, Draco, then you Kit.

IC:When he heard that there was another huge threat to his friends he began to glow with the light of his species he told Shyara, Lead me to this monster, and I will help you destroy it. We must make this place safe for the future generations. In a flash he was off down the tunnel.

OOC: Pass turn.

OOC: The current order seems fine, voenth.

IC: Phalynx drifted onward, propelled by her rather oversized wings. The coast was clear for now, but she knew that the shade she had bitten in half would be back with reinforcements before long. Before that time came, she wanted to get a good look at whatever was causing the large pool of shadow.

When she drew near enough, she could make out the individual shapes of the shadow beasts, all gathering around something. Staying well out of sight, she flew a little closer to find out what that something was. Phal saw it in the center of the throng. It was a rip in the shadow, a rip into which light was pouring. Rather than shrinking back from it, as Phal would have preferred, the shadow creatures were all rushing into the portal at once. Luckily they were blocking the exit from each other, becoming so crowded that they clogged it in their rush to escape. Phal laughed contemptuously at the idiotic beasts. At least she and her friends had that going for them.

Okay, so that's where they're getting out. But where do I get out? Phal wondered. She sighed. There was only one thing to do.

With a mighty flap of her wings to hurdle forward and a terrifying roar, Phalynx lit herself up like a star and plunged right into the midst of shadow beasts. They either shrank back in fear or pain from the light, or milled about in confusion. Either way, it worked to her advantage. She was able to use her powers to manipulate the magic of the portal and open it just a little bit more for her, though she made sure to clear the way of shadow creatures with starfire so they wouldn't press forward. The way clear, she leapt through the portal, closing it as much as she could after her.

Phalynx panted, satisfied with herself, and then looked around. She was in a pitch black, very claustrophobic cave. The only ways out were a tiny tunnel too small for her to fit through, and another, larger tunnel that was completely flooded and led down.

OOC: Hey, this weekend I probably won't get a chance to get on, but Monday I will for sure. You'll just have to skip me, or wait, what ever works best, I will not be offended but sorry guys anyway. oh yeah, and I'm joined up with 17+ RPs so if these sound the same, they are

Gornath continued down the tunnel using his "white light" to allow him to see. He came to the edge of a clif inside the monsterous cave. His light wouldn't reach, so he kicked some stoned down ,and heard a splash. This must be where the beast lives. He thought to himself. He called loudly so tht everything would hear Come and face you supposed master of the deep, Fight me oh slayer of the sea. Face me for I am one of the masters of the air! Having said that he jumped and flew as high as the cave would allow and he waited for a response.

OOC: lol, and watchit, Gornath gona get angry

IC: Phal examined the water-filled tunnel, wondering what creatures lurked beyond it. She could not see anything especially dangerous with her sight, but then, she could only see about three feet beyond the eventual exit of the tunnel. From what she could tell, it opened into an underground lake.

Phalynx took a deep breath, and dove fluidly into the water. She hated swimming. Her wings were so large that they dragged in the water, making her slow and awkward. The water itself was nice, but trying to swim very fast in it was agonizing. Luckily, Phal could take her time. She was used to going on little oxygen because of her time spent flying miles up.

The silver dragoness finally reached the end of the narrow tunnel, and was met with the sight of a massive tentacle resting inches from the top of it. Uh oh... she thought, and began swimming as fast as she could towards the surface.

OOC: Don't you think you are making Gornath a little too powerful and undefeatable? Even my new character Arkel would consider the squid gigantic and In my earlier post I said that Shyara was alittle bigger than its eye. and Gornath is going after it alone.

OOC: not quite alone, remember phal is there, and Gornath is a magical creatuer, the squid however is not, it is just big. I didn't say he bit the tentacle off either, i said he bit it and was burning it.

OOC: All dragons are magical. and you forgot about the squid now being blind and that Gornath's mouth couldn't go through the whole thing. Have you ever Watched the 2nd Pirates of the Carribbean, the kracken like that except 20 times bigger, and not stupid.

OOC: thats what I was saying, he bit it, but didn't get through it, thats why he had to burn it, and thats why it went away from him.

OOC: How 'bout we just take out its tentacles one-by-one, and then go for what's left? (Kinda like a videogame) That'd be more realistic than just diving right in the middle.

OOC: sounds good.

OOC:dracoaestas it is you turn.

Gornath continued to follow after the kraken. He knew that he wouldn't stand any chance unless he got rid of the tentacles. He swam to one and began to use "white fire" on it. He heard the monster scream in pain and thought quietly to himself, f I can get rid of this one it will only have a few smaller ones to deal with which I hope Phal and Shyara, if they cant they really should leave. Half an hower later he was still trying to burn through the tentacle. He thought, This monster must be thousands of years old.

OOC: We are talking about a giant squit f\right, or are we talking about like the kraken from Pirated of the Karrabean(sp), because a squid has 2 long tentacles & like 6 short ones.

OOC: A squid, but it has lived in a cave lake, so it probably has a few special adaptations to help it survive

OOC: Actually, in mythology the kraken is a supergiant squid, not an octopus. Pirates of the Carribean took a few creative liberties with theirs. And, squid have 2 large tentacles and 8 smaller ones. (They have ten)

IC: Phalynx immediately swam to one of the smaller tentacles after she had located Gornath. He, too, was working on getting rid of the beast's appendages. It wouldn't be able to fight off the dragons very well without them.

Phal began blasting at the smaller tentacle with starfire and digging at the squishy flesh. Soon she had cut a deep furrow into it, but was forced to dodge away from a slap by one of the other tentacles. The kraken had realized what was going on, and was flailing its tentacles around its body to try to wack the dragons off of it. Phal was agile and flexible enough to swerve around the attacks, but it was limiting the effectiveness of her blows.

OOC: your turn V

OOC: I think it is your turn, I went right before Draco.

OOC: I guess your right.

IC: Shyara swam to the next, smaller tentacle and started ripping into it. She clawed and tried her fire again, but still couldn't get it come out again. She bit into the flesh and was shaking back and forth violently when another tentacle wrapped around her suddenly. Then it flexed its mantle and shot down farther into the depths with great speed. It released a huge cloud of black ink, completely blocking out the light the dragons were giving off. Shyara struggled helplessly as she watched the other dragons get left behind as she was dragged under. Help me! she cried out, I'm going to need to breath soon. Swim down, it squirted out black ink and thrust itself downward.

OOC: Man I have an awesome new avvy & sig, lol off topic!

IC:

Gornath heard the distresed call of Shyara. He used his wings to propell hmself toward the dark cloud of ink he knew that Shyara was in. He let loose a huge burst of energy toward the cloud and it instantly started to disperse. He grabbed the distressed dragoness and attepmted to haul her up to the surface, but to non avail. For the monster had her around the waist in a death grip. He tried with all his might to bite through the tentacle, but its muslces were like hard cords of steel. He gave up trying to pull her free and began to try to use magic. He finally gave up trying to get her gree, for the pressure was too great and he had to go get some air.

OOC: So are you going to explain how you got Shyara from the squid's clutches and how you swam down through and underneath the ink several hundred feet just as fast as the squid who is made for living in the water?

OOC: Nah, lol just how hes swimming after the squid with magical abilities, & how he didn;t getrid of but moved the ink away from Shyara. Only that!

OOC: But the squid has her in a death grip. there is no way he can JUST free her. and the squid dived over 500 ft after he squirted the ink. quit making Gornath all-powerful, it is getting irritating. I don't like saying that to a friend but its the truth.

OOC: I'm not, & I thought she got free of the "death-grip". If I was making him all-powerful the squid would be dead...

OOC: no, it says No where does it say she got out.

OOC: Guys, relax. Now, voenth, Kit does have a point. According to your rps and bio, Gornath is very strong, very fast in the air, and has very powerful magical abilities. Maybe its time you either pick less strengths or find some flaws with your charry. Everyone has them, right? Why don't you be more specific with yours?

IC: Phalynx swam quickly to the surface to get some air as soon as she saw Shyara getting dragged down, for she knew she would need it. With her powerful lungs filled, she could last for an especially long time because of her practice getting low oxygen in high altitudes.

Phal dove under the water and tried to figure out a way to rescue her friend. She knew she wouldn't be strong enough to break the squid's grip, and she wasn't very fast in the water because of her overly large wings, but there had to be another way.

The starry dragoness suddenly remembered something. The squid was right above the tunnel she had swam out of earlier. Hold on, Shyara, I'll be there as soon as I can. Gornath, if you can, try to give Shyara some air. Blow some into your cupped wing as a supply. It'll be mostly already breathed air, but at least it'll be something! she cried as she flew up and out of the water. She emerged with a huge splash of black, sparkling liquid and flew as fast as she could into the tunnel above the great cavern.

Using her sight to guide her, like her own internal map, she made it back to the cave where they had fought the shade. The adrenaline and the desperation to save her friend's life made her fly at unbelievable speeds. She searched for the remains of the shadow realm portal and reopened it. It took a large amount of her energy to open it so quickly and crudely, but it was worth it. Phal darted into the shadow realm and back to the huge croud of shadow creatures, who were fighting to reopen the portal she had closed.

Phalynx opened it once more, allowing shadow creatures to pour out of the portal and into the tunnel after her. When she had enough, she closed the portal and began fleeing for her life as the shadow creatures chased her murderously.

OOC: Not a whole lot to write right now.

IC: Shyara resisted struggling, it wasted oxygen and and squid just squeezed harder. Already one of her wings had broken and her ribs were about to give in. Out of Shyara right eye she could see Phalynx coming through the water from below and behind where the blackest shadows she had seen. They were spewing forth into the water as the ink had.

OOC: Hey, what if the shadows kill the squid, they could do it rather easily?

OOC: I am sorry, didn't really realize, and don;t mean to I will try not to make my charries so "invencible".

IC:
Gornath heard what Phal did, and blew the air into his wings, he began to sink when he saw a tentacle come out of nowhere and hit him so hard that he was hurled out of the water and hit the rocks on the sides. He lay there unconscious.

Pass-turn.

OOC: That's okay, voenth. All powerful charries don't seem very fun, anyway. It's much more fun (and dramatic!) to have weaknesses for your enemies to take advantage of, flaws to explore and exploit, etc. Mwahaha! And there aren't very many shadow creatures, and they'll be against us dragons too, so this is mainly just for freeing Shyara and maybe doing a little more damage to the squid thing.

IC: Phalynx emerged from the tunnel and saw that Shyara was still ensared. Gornath seemed to have been knocked onto the rocks by the lake, so Shyara must be close to drowning. Phal breathed silver flame ahead of her, prompting the shadow creatures to follow even more determinably.

Phal hit the base of the tentacle that was holding Shyara. A few of the shadow creatures immediately percieved their new threat and began ripping at the tentacle once they had landed on it. The rest continued following Phal. The silver dragoness clambered along the tentacle underwater towards Shyara. Some of the shadow creatures attacked the tentacle as they swam, and a few even went back to fight the main body of the beast.

Phal eventually reached Shyara and busied herself defending the trapped dragoness from the shadow creatures that were still trying to attack them. The rest of the shadow creatures continued hacking away at the base of the tentacle. These creatures had jaws and blades sharp enough to cut through dragonscale like it was butter, so the fleshy skin of the squid was no problem whatsoever to them. In mere moments they had hacked through most of the muscle, causing the arm's grip to slightly weaken. It was enough.

Phalynx began to encourage Shyara to try to escape while she simultaneously pulled apart the tentacle wrapped around her friend and blasted away shadow creatures with starfire.

OOC: Your turn Kit.

OOC: Sorry, we started remodeling our house Friday, so i haven't really had a chance to get on.

IC: Shyara was close to unconsciousness, which would lead to almost immediate death, when Phal put her plan into action. The squid was releasing its grip, but Shyara didn't struggle to get loose as hard, because she needed to save her energy and oxygen; she had been under water for a good forty-five minutes.

Finally its grip fell away when the combined efforts of the shadow creatures and Phalynx had succeeded in removing the arm. Shyara spread her wings and flapped madly to get to the surface. She was twenty feet from the air she desperately needed, when she out of oxygen and passed out and began a slow descention back down.

OOC: Oh, Nice hope its going well!

IC:
Gornath had been sloly but surely regaining his consciousness. His head throbbed all over. He sllowly rose to his feet and saw Phalanx dive into the water. He jumped in after her swimming dowanwad slowly, because of his head injury. He saw Shyara swimming as fast as she could toward the surface and he though tto himself, I have to help her get out of the water. He swam as fast as he could, which was not very fast in his condition, and got under Shyara and began to help push her to the surface.

Gornath followed Shyara, but did not dierctly attack the squid't head, he instead attacked the small tentacled and kept them from getting Shyara around the waist again. It took him a long time, but he felt a great satisfaction every time he bit or burned through one.

OOC: Pass-Turn.

Aye, you can't kep this up Phal. Saig Gornath as he dove at one of the creatures, hti lungs were about to bust frmo want of air, but he had a job to do, and he would never give up. He blasted another shadow creature with "White Fire" and began to tear at it with his sharp claws.

OOC: Sorry, I'm having trouble, just got done with a math test, and I'm almost braindead...

OOC: lol completely understandable voenth.

IC: Phal reluctantly followed Shyara to the surface, wincing as her limbs paddled the water. She burst into the cool air with more choking, gritting her teeth with the pain of the broken bones. It's not like... I'm going to die. It just hurts a lot. I'll heal before I... come back though, she said, panting heavily. She understood Shyara's concern for herself, and realized that she should probably take it easy for a while. The two dragons were strong, and could handle a couple shadow creatures.

The silver dragoness swam to the shoreline and climbed out on the rocks, limping. She set herself down carefully near a rock wall and heaved a tired sigh. She began to concentrate on the magic around her, wondering if she could heal herself. She eventually manipulated the magic into swirling over her ribs, which she could see through her hide. She saw the ugly-looking breaks, and then realized with shock that too much activity would have caused one of them to pierce her left lung. Okay, I guess Shyara just may have saved my life there, she said with a tiny laugh. She slowly changed the magic into healing magic, and worked it onto her wounds.

The most dangerous break (the one threatening a lung) was healed first, and then the other major fractures. The cracked ones she repaired last, and she had just enough concentration and energy left to heal up the bruises on the ribs. Phalynx let the magic go, and let out a long breath. She decided to wait until her friends rejoined her and give herself some rest.

OOC: Just so you guys know, normal (pure) shadow creatures cannot be harmed at all by physical attacks. Though since you probably don't want to edit, we can make these ones the non-normal, partially physical ones.

IC: Phalynx noticed a patch of ice suddenly grow on the surface of the lake. Oh no, she thought, worried. Gornath's ice breath had obviously not worked quite as planned. She stood and flapped over to the top of the icy patch, hovering. Despite her exhaustion, flying was extremely easy with such large wings and her level of conditioning. She let her starfire gently bathe the ice and water, heating it and melting the ice. Whenever it melted through to a shadow creature, it pained it. Unfortunately, Phal's fatigue made it so that she could only injure the shadow creatures a little, and she was careful not to un-encase the beasts enough so that they could escape.

Shyara could finish freeing Gornath, so Phal fluttered back to shore, satisfied in the help she had offered. She desperately needed to rest if she was to continue fighting.

With a deep breath Gornath rose unsteadily to his feet. He shakily flew up to the hole and made it in. He said, You two go on ahead, I will catch you in a few minutes, I am larger, and would only slow you down, go on ahead. Gornath lay down at the mouth of the hole and went promptly to sleep.
