Skills: - Ronin's main skill lies with his blade. He's practiced in magic but would rather settle things sword to sword. He taught himself how to fight using a stick to defend himself from the bigger kids in his village. After a while, he developed his own style which required a custom-forged blade.

Ronin also taught himself magic. From a young age, Ronin has been able to feel the flow of the world. He's been able to sense how things could change if a little bit of energy and concentration were used. He discovered that this is a key element of magic when he was fifteen and lit his bonfire without saying a word. He is very good at altering the world around him using magic, but knows nothing of the Ancient Language, nor the danger that not using the language possesses.

Parents: - Endril was Ronin's father. He beat Ronin's mother to death when Ronin was two. He was hanged and Ronin was orphaned. Nobody took him in, but the local butcher made sure he always had food and knew how to hunt.

Siblings: - None

Character Personality: Ronin is complex. As a young child, he never saw the evil in anything. He was optimistic and was always smiling; always happy. He understood his situation but had been told his parents had died in a fire. Homelessness didn't affect his mood at that age. Then one day a group of older kids surrounded him behind the butcher's. They pushed him around, beat him up, and told him the truth. Then they left him there, alone. Something in his mind cracked, and the next day he ambushed the bigger kids, one or two at a time, and beat them mercilessly within an inch of their lives. He showed no mercy, even as they begged. He showed no remorse. By this point his optimistic nature had completely shattered. He tries to think logically before diving into any situation. He tries to be friendly to those he meets, but usually just comes off as awkward. He still wants to believe that there's good in the world, and disagrees with the lust for power that holds Galbatorix. He is interested in becoming a part of the Varden, and would accept it gladly if he ended up becoming a Dragon Rider, but mostly he just wants a friend in this large, lonely world.

Character History: As previously stated, Ronin's father killed his mother when he was two. He quickly adapted to fending for himself and with the help of the local butcher, Sam, built a little roof behind the butcher's shop to sleep under. Sam looked after him, but never fully took the child in as his own. One day when he was about 6, while Ronin was playing at being a Dragon Rider Hero from the stories Sam had told him, a group of older boys ganged up on him and beat him up. They told him the truth about his father and destroyed the cheery little boy Ronin had been up to that point. The next day all seven boys were beaten nearly to death with the stick Ronin had been using the day before. The village elders called a town meeting and decided to give him a few years, to see how he grew up. Ronin continued to get into fights, sometimes it was because he saw someone doing something wrong, other times he was just relieving stress. Sam was the only person Ronin ever talked to; the only person he ever trusted. By the time he was twelve, the elders decided that enough was enough, and kicked Ronin out of the town. Ronin looked to Sam for help, but only saw regret in the old man's eyes. Thanks to the hunting and cooking skills Sam had taught him, Ronin didn't starve out in the woods. He taught himself the way of the sword, intending to fight against the armies of Galbatorix, and eventually made enough gold off of paid fights to buy a custom forged blade. To this day he roams the lands of the Empire, earning his keep in paid fights and causing trouble for the local soldiers.

Weapons: The only weapon Ronin carries is his blade. It's a 40" katana with an intricate iron hilt guard. The blade itself is reinforced steel with a fire-blackened flat edge. There are few nicks or cuts, as Ronin keeps his sword in top condition. The sheath is made of iron.

Dislikes: - soldiers, alcohol (the aftermath, mostly), men hitting women, Galbatorix

Weakness / Fear: - he fears never finding a true friend. his weakness is cute girls with pretty eyes and a kind demeanor.

Character's Physical Description: Ronin is about 6'2" with long dark brown hair and blue eyes. The eyes are his most striking feature, as they seem both cold and emotionless in one moment, and then become lively and full of fire the next. He seems scrawny at first. He doesn't have much visible muscle. His face is noble-looking for his upbringing. He keeps as clean as he can for being homeless, and can usually be seen wearing leather slacks, moccasins, and a lightweight cotton tunic.

Dreams for the Future: - To find a reason to continue living

Reason for Dreams: - He's had a hard life and just wants to find a reason to continue living, to continue seeing the value in his own life.

Alignment/side: - Varden, but not officially a part of the organization.
