Hey guys this is a section where if your considering buying a new system and are needing some advice on whether or not you should buy it, you can ask for help.
Please don't make this become a flame war. I don't want everyone bickering over which system is better, just give some pro's and con's of the system.

I myself am considering getting a PS3 for Uncharted 1 and 2, MGS4, MODnation racers, Warhawk, Final Fantasy versus 13, Infamous, Ratchet, possibly Demon's Souls, and more.
I already own a 360, but I loved the ps2 and want to go back to my Sony roots.

Please help me out and use this topic if you need help.

Well, I can honestly say that FFXIII Versus is the reason that I got a PS3.
I'm a huge fan of the Final Fantasy series.

By Ratchet, do you mean Ratchet and Clank? or something else?

There's a new Ratchet and Clank game coming out soon for PS3 and I can't wait.

I got my PS3 a while ago even though it's technically for Christmas. So far, I haven't had any problems with it and some of the stuff on there is pretty good.

Cons I would say is that you can't use your old controllers, they have to be wireless, only the 60GB model plays PS2 games and you can't use external memory cards (meaning that you can't use your current save files to play ps1/ps2 model games, you have to make new ones and the new ones can't be used anywhere else, though there may be a way around this)

I have had a few software problems, my internet connection is really slow on it for some reason so downloading updates takes FOREVER, especially the first one when you initially turn on the console, and when I downloaded VidZone (a free music video streaming program sony's introduced to the console) it didn't work. However, deleting it and reinstalling it totally solves the problem.

If you're going to move it to another T.V. at any point - consult the manual, since the home screen won't display if you don't do a specific thing. I thought mine was broken.




This may all seem very negative, but it doesn't take away from the fact that I love the PS3 as a console, and I'm seriously looking forward to Versus next year.

If you have the money to buy one... I say, go for it.

I did already know about the inability to play ps2 games.

Also another game that I'm interested in is LBP.

Is the new one already out?
I thought it was out soon, but not yet.

I know there's already one out, but I didn't think they'd released the second one.

I've not yet played little big planet, though I have a friend who was pretty obsessed with it and I like to think he has good taste, so it's probably pretty good.

Crack in time is the newest out I believe got a good review from IGN.

One of the reasons I'm more interested in FF versus13 is that I prefer action RPGs, so I think I will enjoy it more than FF 13.

Yeahh, I heard it's called a Crack in Time, it's got its own section on Playstation Home.

Ah yes, the other benefit of the PS3 over the xbox is free online play, though you probably already knew that.

I think the plotline for Versus looks much better than the plot for 13, though I'm still looking forward to playing 13 when it comes out.

I agree about the plot of the two FF games.

While 360 cost for online play I prefer the setup, but thats just my opinion and I haven't experienced PS3 online that much.

I have to agree about the setup, though I haven't really used Multiplayer on my PS3 yet, XBOX live does have more features.
I use it when I go to see my Boyfriend, and it sees awesome but I'm a tight git and I don't want to spend £40 a year :']

Its really not that bad for me cause I use it alot, so I get my moneys worth, but It would be nice if it was free.

I guess part of the reason I don't like it is cause I'd have to ask my mum, though I guess if I really wanted it (and I had an X-Box) I could save up my EMA. But I really have too many consoles to be plugging in to my telly as it is and I'm getting some (prepare for an oxymoron here) new "vintage" consoles too.

I got a new N64 last christmas (unused, limited edition Pikachu version chuffed!)

And I'm going to be getting a new SNES and hopefully a new Gamecube too soon.

I'm a huge Nintendo fan.

Gamecube was my first system, but I prefer Sony and Microsoft.

I love Gamecube because I loved Sonic Adventure 2 (Battle).

I never had one though. I used to play on my cousins, which is why I need to get a new one.

I mainly liked a dirt bike game and a few star wars titles. Oh, and the medal of honor series.
