my cousins dog, joe, just died. She doesnt know yet, cause shes at a softball turnament. But she loved that dog like a brother, it was like part of their family. well we think joe had a heart attack, maybe. but i dont know what im gonna say when she tells me, i know im gonna say im sorry, but what can i do to heal her pain? i have no idea

I would tell her that it is ok to cry and tell her that it is a natural part of life and that she should be thank ful that it was a natural death not like puting the dog to sleep

When I get upset, my mom and sister always have a quote for me. I use this one alot.

'Don't cry because it is over. Smile because it happened.

When we moved, I would always smile when I thought of it. You can say the things most people do. "He's in a better place now." "Everything will be okay." Or you can always say these. "I know how much you have missed him. Just think, now he IS in a better place. He doesn't have a care now, none at all. You'll be able to see him again. Don't worry.

Then comfort her the best you can.
