OOC: lol, Phalynx to the rescue!

IC: Phalynx felt the call from her friend, Voenth, in the desert. She always knew when she was needed in Alagaesia, and luckily she was already above the burning sands, her scales glowing like a star. Why do these things suddenly pop up everywhere after I defeat one of them in the East? It's like they were waiting to see if I could do it, and now they're angry that I could, she thought, somewhat exasperated.

An extremely bright star had appeared by now above the rider and his young dragon. It suddenly brightened many times over as it fell to the earth. Phalynx snapped open her wings and bathed the entrance to the hole with starfire. The creature inside shrieked, but she could see it escaping. She landed near the entrance to the tunnel, and sniffed the blood at the entrance. Interesting. This thing seems less shadowy and more fleshy than usual. It can bleed, she said, mostly to herself. She turned to Voenth and Braith, lifting her head.

Hello Voenth and Braith. How have you been getting on? she greeted the pair happily. Braith seemed much larger since the last time she'd seen him, and he seemed healthy and fit as well. She was glad to see her friends weren't in bad shape.

OOC: How long has it been since Braith's hatching, if he's fully grown?

OOC: I will guess its been about 22 years. Because he is bigger than most dragons alive. Its what makes up for his not having any special abilities.

IC:
Braith didn't recognize the dragoness that burned the shadow beast, but she seemed nice enough, though not as nice as Seren. He wished he had more abilities like that monsterous flame that was just launched from her maw. She was a sight to see.


Voenth was glad that his long-time friends was there to help them, he didn't know why, she was just always there when it had to do with shadow beasts she was always around, he began to explain their delima, " We were on our way to go see Anthor and Gornath to meet the elves to discuss what we need to do about the latest outbreaks or Raz'zac when we noticed that all of the gazzel were fleeing from the desert. Then we saw this mountain. It is tangable, but at the same time not. I think it is a monsterous door to the shadow relm. It is time we finished them off. I and Braith have decieded to go in and kill them in their own home.

Danagon saw the black blur in the sand. Then the star. Plalynx. He thought. Andep wouldn't be too happy, but lets hope he gets along with Phalynx. Danagon looked at Drenor and Eliza. Then he looked back down. Another dragon, male by the looks of it with a Rider. "Shall we visit Phal?"

Andep saw the big-black-shadow-monster go in to the sand. I guess we should. Andep was still uneased that he, like probably a majority of the dragons who had met her, had thought she was a beauty and wanted her to be his mate. Then Eliza came and Andep fell in love. Theres another dragon. Male. Andep quickly was enraged and looked at Eliza. I am yours, my love That settled Andep. He then remembered the monster. He quickly used his eyes to look through the sand. It was scratchy, but he could make out the figure still descending. Then it stopped, and started digging the way towards the mountain. Andep went back to his normal eyes and landed down by Phal.


"Greeting, Phalynx the Star Dragon. My brother speaks highly of you." Drenor sat on Eliza who followed Andep. She was still in her white form. "What was that creature!?" He then looked over at the other dragon. "Well Met." Danagon and Andep said with him.


Eliza quickly came back to reality and said Well met. A little late. She had been dreaming about Andep. His perfect green scales, how his head was so bold. Then she saw the silver dragon. So thats Phalynx. The one who has a better silver color than me. Eliza knew she was beautiful and looked at Andep. I am yours my love. And then she looked back at the dragons and repeated the two questions buzzing through all of their minds. What is that monster, and where did that mountain come from?

OOC: Ah, 22 years. That makes things interesting. And not all the dragons here have to have special abilities, voenth. Phal's special for a very important reason, not just randomly.

IC: Phalynx surveyed everyone, thinking for a moment. Alright, so it looks like the shadow creatures are trying to come back into our world. Or, maybe they're trying to get to Faefnir and Star Gazer, she said. She wondered if the others knew that Faefnir and Star were deep in a trance in Faefnir's fortress, and had been that way for twelve years. The Fortress was well-protected, but perhaps the shadow creatures were trying nonetheless.

That beast in the sand was a shadow creature. And I am definately not letting them come into our world. With my brother no longer around protecting Alagaesia, it is my duty to protect it. I am going to destroy them, and you may join me if you wish. You do not have to, though, Phalynx said, raising her head a little imperiously. Over the past twelve years, she had become more of a leader to the dragons of the world, and she was taking her mission deeply to heart. The reason she had her powers was so that she would always be able to watch over Alagaesia and the lands beyond.

Now then, I'm going to go after that thing. If you wish to help, then go investigate that mountain further and find out what you can. I do not suggest engaging the enemy, however. Only your riders, with light magic, can harm the shadow beasts. Maybe. Those ones look a little more solid and "our world-ish" than usual, so maybe other forms of magic can harm them as well, Phal said, nodding her head to the blood on the ground. With no further word, she leaped into the hole after the creature, not wasting any more time. Hopefully it wouldn't be able to alert the others. Phal could see it ahead of her, and she could see the swarm of others in an underground cave some ten miles away. If she didn't move fast enough, they would be warned.

OOC: I believe that is it Aorian's turn.

"Andep!" Danagon cried. Andep flew in to the hollow mountain, dissapearing. Eliza!Drenor yelled as Eliza chased after him. Danagon and Drenor looked at each other. They ran as fast as they could in to the mountain. "What are they doing!" Danagon yelled. He had lost contact with Andep, as Drenor with Eliza. He felled a dragons concsiusness.Phaylnx, what's happening!?

What are you doing!?Braith! He is being lured in to the mountain, he is being drawn toward those things! Eliza and Andep continued flying in the dark. Eliza turned silver. Hopefully Braith or Phaylnx could pick her out.


OOC: If you want me to edit, tell me. I wasn't sure if my dragons were supposed to be lured in too or what.

OOC: Its ok with me, just please don't have your dragons meet up with him, this is really going to affect him, he is going to learn alot, they cna however meet up with Voenth if it is all the same to you.

Andep stopped at Voenth. "WHats happening?" Why is Braith doing that?Is he hurt? Danagon and Drenor[color=#0000000] "Will someone tell me what is going on!" Danagon shouted. Don't you ever do that again. [/color]

Danagon, Drenor! Danagon and Drenor looked at each other. "Skol." They said together. "Voenth, I hope Braith is ok." Andep and Eliza went out of the mountain towards where they heard Skol's cry for help.

OOC: If you really want to. JUst say he ran off or something like that.

OOC: Star Gazer it is your turn.

OOC: Star Gazer you have to post, or you will be skipped.

IC:
Braith finally succeded in covering himself with fire, then he began to hit the wall with all of his might.

Voenth continued to search for Braith.

OOC: Pass-Turn.

OOC: Star Gazer, it is your turn, you will be skipped again if you don't post.

OOC:Skipped.

IC:
Voenth heard Phal and said, There is another way, but ti is completely blocked off by a door, I have tried everything and I will not work, I will come to you. He ran forward both his swords drawn, both had an oddly colored aura around them, Let'hjartha had a sea-blue color surrounding it, and Rathur'gata had a black aura around it. He attacked the shadow beasts by infusing some magic with his blades. It took alot of energy out of him, but it got him to Phalynx. He said, "Sorry I am late, Braith has dissappeared. I have no idea as to where he might be.

OOC:Here goes something odd.

IC:
Braith's eyes began to slowly turn from orange to red. His breathing became labored, his claws began to lengthen, his teeth even became sharper. He had a wild look in his blood red eyes. He began to roar loudly, and the fire that had englufed his orange body in had turned blood red. He had a wild look on his face. It seemed that he had gone crazy, and that he had gone bezerk and kill anything that he saw. He began to thrash aganst the wall, and finally broke free.

OOC: I believe Star Gazer has forgotten this RP, should we skip her untill she asks to join again Draco?

OOC: Yeah, go ahead. If she wants to join, she still can, but we'll keep going until then.

OOC: Sounds good, but if and when we find Braith, well he is berzerk...

IC:
Voenth nimbly jumped upin Phalynx's bach and watched with wonder at the shadow beasts that were fallind down dead from the gamma radiation Phal tols him she was using on her. He thought to himself, Heh she uses her seeing abilities as I use y hypnosis abilities. He shashed with his enchanted blades at any shadow beast that came too close for comfort. He and Phalynx were a team, untill they were confrontedby the largest shadow beast he had ever seen. Almost immediately, Voenth had been practically knocked sensless by the huge tentacles that were literally everywhere. They were cornered, he and Phalynx were doing well, but not well enough to kill the beast, for every tentacle they destroyed two came in its place.

Braith walked away from the mound of rubble that had been the huge wall that had sealed him inside. He was foaming at the mouth and wanted to eat. He saw some shadow beasts nearby and swiftly burned them to death, enjoying every second of their painful deaths, their squealing like music to his ears. He had gone past bezerk ,he had become a blood-luster.

OOC: OOOO, nice I lke it Braith going bezerk upon a shadow beast! WONDERFUL!!!

IC:
Voenth began to attempt to hold off some to the tentacles and heal Phalynx at the same time. It was very hard and left him very weak at the end, but somehow he managed it. He began to draw energy from Let'hjartha and Rathur'gata to try to fent off the huge tentacles and help Phalynx, when he saw Braith. He had red eyes and was larger than earlier. He was foaming atthe mouth, as if he had some sort of disease, he leapt ypon anything that came close enough and burned it to death, for his entire bodt was englfed in flame.

Braith continued to kill anything that he came across, then he saw it, a huge shadow beast Now, this is a real fight! Roared Braith. He leapt upon the beast, but was quickly repelled by its huge tentackes. Braith began to circle the beast in an attempt to suprise it.

"No problem, but I don't know how long Brith can hold that monster off." Said Voenth worridly.

By this time Braith had gone past the regular bezerk. He felt no pain, nor did he tire. He just fought. He attacked the beast, no matter the dreadful wounds inflicted upon him.

OOC:Pass...

OOC: Pass with Voenth, he is unconscious.

IC:
With a huge roar, Braith finally got free of the stones. Instead of attackign the elf, he hurled himself at the silver dragon, not really doing much damage, but letting her know, that she was at least in his mind outmatched. He took to the air after the silver dragon. He left the elf to rot, he could always come back for him.

OOC: You ready to end this RP??

IC:
Braith continued to chase the silver dragon. It seemed that she always kept barely out of his reach. He began to get tired. He began to slow doen, his moves less accurate, and the flapping of his wings became irregular. He slowly spiraled to the earth, completely worn out. Then he saw the elf again. He began to draogn himself toward him in an atteppt to kill at least one of his enemies.

Voenth began to come bakc to consciousness slowly but surely. His vision flickered a few times, each time showing the orange dragon, Braith followin gPhalynx. The last one, though, showed only the orange dragon comeing toward him.

OOC: Probably after we kill the evil beasties.

IC: Phal realized her ploy was no longer working. Braith was getting too tired to go after her, now, and was aiming for easier prey. Come on, Braith, that's your rider! she said into his mind, exasperated that he should keep up this state for such a long time. She knew he had no control over it, but the length of the transformation was beginning to wear on her.

The silver dragoness turned around and flashed past Braith, barely reaching Voenth in time. She carefully picked him up in her foreclaws, and then leapt backward into the air, pumping her wings hard. She didn't want to risk going forward in case Braith lunged at her.

OOC: I don't wana end it yet, pleast try to think of something to keep it going, I am in the middle of exam studying, so I am kinda Brain-fried....

IC:
Voenth was terrifyed when he felt himself being lifted from the ground, but his fears soon subsided when he saw that it was Phalyx who had him. He weakly mumbled, "Thankyou." Then once again passed into the void.

Braith roared in anger when his prey was snatched from him, but when he heard the silver dragon say something about a rider, his anger began to subside. He lost the will to fight, or to be fought aganst. He lost his zeal to kill the elf and the dragon. His eyes began to turn back to their origional color. He fell to the ground, thuroughly exhausted. He said, W-Where am I? He looked over to see Voenth lying in Phalynx's fore-claws out cold. He tried to get up, but was too tired. He fell back in exhaustion.

OOC: Oh, don't worry, it'll take a long time to kill all the evil beasties. I'll try to think of something to do after that.

IC: Braith, Phal said in relief, It's good to have you back, my friend. You used your "berzerker mode" to kill a large shadow beast, but in your rage you saw me and Voenth as enemies. I'm not sure why, but Voenth fell off my back and was knocked out, Phal said, turning around and landing next to the now docile Braith.

She carefully set Voenth down near his dragon and sniffed him over. Huh. I don't know what happened. Perhaps you can find out? she suggested, knowing that the dragon would know more about his rider than she. Maye this had happened before, she didn't know.

Phal glanced at the bulge in the desert ground, now broken on the top like a hatching egg. But what monstrosities are ready to hatch out of that? she thought in worry.

"Its simple, really, I got dizzy from the fast climb in altitude. Normally, Braith and I fly about thirty feet above the trees, I got dizzy because of the speed." Said Voenth with a grogy smile.

I- I am truly sorry for my behavior, Phalynx and you too Voenth, I lost control, I saw only enemies trying to kill me, that is why I tried to kill you. I wanted to stop, but was just unable. I am sorry ... Said Braith, his head hung low in shame. He got up, but fell back down again. The earth beneath them began to shake, as if the world were splitting apart, all its own.

OOC: Im A New Home, it this the story set in the future about the shadows gona try to overrun the world??

OOC: I've been thinking about that. This can be their first attack; their first attempt to escape their realm. We'll stop them, but they'll have gained more leverage. This rp isn't quite as far into the future as the actual war, and I'm gonna start that one, hee hee. Maybe as an RPGC topic.

IC: Phalynx bent her head, It is alright, Braith. Don't worry about it. And Voenth, I'm sorry. I didn't even realize. I always fly around like that, so I didn't realize what I was doing, she said apologetically. Phal was used to rapid altitude changes, and very high altitude. She had long forgotten how normal creatures felt at that height, or moving too swiftly in height.

She glanced at the sun, which was slowly lowering itself towards the horizon. Once you regain your strength, we should investigate that place again, but with more caution. The shadow beasts are obviously trying to emerge, she said with contempt. She would see to it that they were stopped, as she had in the past.

I will make it. Said Braith as he slowly got up. Don't worry about me, I can still fight. He kne wthat if ther ewas any hard fighting, then hw would easily get beaten, bu the would not let that show in front of Phalynx or Voenth. He lifted the elf onto his back and went to look into the cave and see what was down there. What he saw scared him. Literally thousands of shadow creatures were pouring out of the earth. He pulled Voenth back and said to Phalynx, Well, we have our cork cut out for us, don't we.

"Ah, they are no trouble, you know what is trouble, your dragon when he goes crazy." Said Voenth with a smile to show he was joking. He was on edge just as much as Braith, but he wouldn't let it show.

OOC: Ok, lolz, I have an idea for mine, lolz! BTW Nice Avvy!!!

OOC: lol thank you. It's a new pic of my little dragon. Yay!

IC: Phal was stricken with how many shadow beasts she saw within the bulge. Thousands upon thousands were pouring into the main cavern, from somewhere below. It was too far down to see the source. From what she could see, it looked like a virtual volcano of shadow, erupting into the fading desert light.

If you are sure, Braith. I am ready as well. I've been ready for this for a long time, she said. Phal was willing to do anything to stop the shadows from coming into their world. She knew that they had to stop them, or they would overtake Alagaesia. Phal raised her wings, and the last winds of the daylight caught the undersides, raising her upper body off the sandy ground. She gave a light flap, lifting herself from the earth and into the air above.

Braith followrd Phalynx's exampel and prepaired himself for th efight of their lives. He began to humm contentedly, he loved to fight and would get all the fighting he ever could want very very soon.

Voenth drew Let'hjarth and said some words in the ancient language to bless himself, Phalynx, and Braith. The got ready to kill.

OOC: Pass, lolz you are gona love my new idea for RPGC!

OOC: Really? I am interested to see what you are plotting, voenth.

IC: Phalynx flew high, high enough to see directly into the bulge without having to look through things. It made her view of the beasts sligtly clearer. Alright. I'll attack from directly above. You two can attack from more to the side, she said calmly, moving to a position directly above the beasts. Phal swallowed her anxiousness and fear; there was no room for that in this mission. If the three of them died on this desperate stand against thousands of shadow beasts, so be it. They had to stop them. Phal knew that this mission was reckless, and could easily end in their deaths, but none of that mattered any more.

She took up her position, high in the darkening sky. The last rays of sunlight were finally filtered out, and the sun sank out of sight. Their battle would begin at night. Phal suddenly lit her scales like a beacon of silver light, looking like a star in the dusky sky. She drew the attention of all the shadow beasts below, who winced at the sudden bright light as if it were fire. Are you ready? she said to the other two, preparing to lock her wings into a dive.

"Phalynx, come over here, we can keep them at bay frmo a distance and conserve energy, for when the sun comes up, we cannot allow them to love untill tomorrow night, we would be slaughtered." Said Voenth as he and Braith moved over on the rim of the cavern to give Phalynx some space.

Phalynx, we need some help, do you know of anyone that we can call upon for help, anyone with Light abilities? Other than yourself of course. Said Braith as he blasted a huge fire ball into the wrighing masses of shadow beasts.

OOC: Pass, sorry.

OOC:Was Braith and Voenth on that RP?

OOC: nrm, I forget, I guess they weren't. But they've probably heard about it I'm guessing. Here, I'll change what she said.

"Sure, we will go get it, are you sure you will be ok withoug us?" Asked Voenth as he again munted Braith. He waited for her answer.

Yes, are you sure you can handel them while we are gone, I would hate to come back and see your body. Said Braith as he prepaired to foy toward the fortress.

OOC: Pass...

"Actually, I think he ment liek infuse soem of the star stone into his body itself, so he can defend himself from shadow-beasts when I am not around, I have perminantly infused my swords with the stone, now I can kill shadow beasts witih a siangle swipe, even the entirely shadow ones." Said Voenth as he watched.

Yes, that is what I ment, I need to have some protection from shadows. Said Braith.

OOC: Pass, and BTW going to be gone for like a week, sorry...

OOC: Voenth, I don't think he'd be able to kill the shadow beasts in a single sword-swipe, not the larger ones at least... Only if the sword hit a vital part, like the neck or heart or something... We don't want to make this too easy, lol.

IC: Phal nodded. Infusing it with your body would give you a defense against the pure shadow ones' attacks, but it wouldn't help you attack them more. To do that, you'd need to infuse it with your claws, but your claws lose their outer layers as they grow and it'd eventually wear off. But infusing it with your body could help. Unfortunately, there's no way to permanently make your fire into light magic fire, not without some very long, complicated, and very, very draining spell, she said, dodging around another attack by a crab-like shadow beast. She turned her head and blasted away a larger one, and then glanced outside. There was still more time that they had to defend, but with Braith and Voenth now more effective against the shadow beasts, it would be easier.

OOC: Sorry, I thought you understood, it was like one of the really small ones, sorry for misleading you, BTW, I am back!

IC:
Voenth jumped down and threw Let'hjartha like a boomerang(did they have those?) and it hit one shadow beast, then went back to his hand. It was very odd and took some energy to force thhe sword to come back to his hand, but it worked and that was all that mattered to him.

Hmm, well a defence is better than nothing, maby I can find something or someone who can help me. Said Braith as he flew down and incinerated a shadow-beast.

OOC: Pass.

OOC: lol yeah that's fine then. Welcome back!

IC: I'm sure we can find a way to do that. And yes, a little is better than nothing, Phal said as she spun downward to blast yet another shadow beast. It was burned away by the intense light. But several more immediately leaped to replace it, and as soon as she had killed those, more had replaced them. There were too many; Phalynx was praying for sunrise soon. There were about two hours left until the sun shone over the land. Then they would have the strength enough to make their move. Phal began the silent countdown in her mind, checking the "clock" every five minutes or so. The sky outside was lightening slowly but surely. Just a little more time, and then we attack their source, Phal shouted encouragingly.

"I hope we live that long." Said Voenth as he continued to slash at the ever more numerous shadow beasts. He continued to attack though he knew that it was useless untill day-light came.

Braith merely grunted as he continued to try to hold the shadow beasts at bay.

OOC: Sorry, pass.

"And so it starts." Said Voenth as he stood up. He was not fully refreshed, but with the help of some plants and inscts, he wasfeeling much better. He cast a small spell that surrounded the two dragons in a light, it was not much, but it would help. He drew his swords, which were still infised with star stone and roared out his challange, "Come face me you shadows, I am Voenth, scared of nothing, sone of None, I was killing your kind before you even crawled out of the deepest hole in Hell!" He ran at the shadow beasts and began to slash and cu tanything that came within his reach.

OOC: That was kinda fierce, lolz.
