Hey there ya go that can prove another way dragons could once existed... what if raptors evolved from dragons... leaving them with wings but not being able to fly. but i have been saying this for a while that if you take the look and body plan of some other dinosaurs, it could look similar to a dragon

The proper wording is "feathery." And I make that statement because if you look at the skeleton of a dragon and that of a bird, they are almost exactly alike, minus the front legs and the triangular skull.

Well it is possible we never came across any proff of dragons yet.... the contidents of the earth move around like so many centimeters a year... scientists say that the contidents were once oll connected ... it is posible that what is now ocean was once land and maybe some evidence of dragons were lost to the ocean. And since we havent explored much of the ocens at all... well we could be missing lots

That's one of the most intelligent theories I've heard in this topic yet. It's entirely possible that most of the proof of dragons hasn't been found due to the break-up of Pangea. (Pangea is the term used to describe the single mass of land the continents formed before they broke apart.)

Komodo Dragons to bulky to fly??? Look at Saphira for cryin' out loud. For all we know, Komodo Dragons and other such reptiles evolved that way.

I dunno, maybe they evolved into land animals because of that meteor theory that scientists have. You know, the one they think caused dinosaurs to go extinct. 'Course, somebody on here said earlier that dragons existed after dinosaurs were gone. Guess we'll never know. At least not until some scientist makes the break through of a lifetime. Or even more simple, Komodo Dragons aren't related to dragons, but dragons do exist anyway. It's entirely possible that dragons exist, but for some reason have evolved or degenerated into some lesser creature. Just because we humans have made some astonishing discoveries of late doesn't mean we know all the secrets of the universe.

also to add to this, with the contidents moving around, scientists say that antartica was once a vast forest.... we have barley begun to explore there, maybe somthing could be there as well

See? That's the sort of stuff I'm talking about. Just because we discover some stuff, doesn't mean we know everything. More than likely we won't know all the worlds secrets, that's what makes life fascinating. Living every day to the fullest and filling it with the things that interest you the most, that way you could die knowing you at least learned some things you otherwise wouldn't have known before.

we know MOST of what is out there. I don't think that we would have missed something as big as DRAGONS. Even if there was a thick forest, flying dragons would have had a range bigger than just Antartica!!! The range would have been VAST!!!

all the more reason to continue searching. we are sure to find something eventually.

For all we know the bodies of a few dragons might have gotten trapped in between the two continental plates that form the Himalayas.

Okay, here's the deal. We can't prove that dragons exist, while you other folks can't prove they don't and never did, just by saying,"I've never seen it or heard of it, so therefore it can't exist." So how about we drop it for a second and go find evidence that proves our point, then we can come back and debate about it some more. (This post was originally much longer, but my computer screwed up and didn't post it correctly. So I decided to send the same message, but to shorten it.)

look. In this topic we must get out of our little fantasy worlds and our little bubbles and we must be practical and logical. This is easier for some than others, and some might not even be able to do this at all. The thing is that THERE IS NO EVIDENCE TO EVEN SUGGEST THE EXISTENCE OF DRAGONS. Thus the only practical and logical conclusion to draw would be that THEY NEVER EXISTED!!!

It could be posible. Anything is. But they could be alive on a different planet, we aren't sure whats out there but their is a possability that they are alive!

If we who believe dragons did and do exist live in a bubble of fantasy, how about you people who live in black and white (fact and no fact) step out of your bubble of blah, and take a look around the world of imagination. Wonder about the things that could be done with just a few improvements on modern technology. Do things like that, and you'll be right up there with all the great thinkers, even if you don't get recognized.

They have different names for Dragons as well, like Drako and Drakon. But everyone believs in different things, some may say there fake and some may say their real. But nobody knows for sure.

I'm sorry. If that was directed to me, i have to laugh. I spend more time daydreaming than watching tv or even being on here, and that's saying something. I don't "live" in reality, it's just that I know when I have to step out of my fantasy bubble and be realistic and logical. and my analogy about a bubble of fantacy was that you are living in one and the real, logical world is on the outside. I was going for fish. they had fins which turned into toes gradually to be able to go0 onto land to avoid predators. it started off temporary, then they just moved onto land to avoid predators altogether.

but then there were predators. And they all turned on each other and only trusted their kind.

How did ppl come up with dragons if they never existed?
In my opinion dragons must have existed long long ago and peole must've got cofused and made up stuff as they breathe out fire,coz superstitions or false beliefs are mostly made by people it never really happens they r just a coincidence.

the same way the came up with elves, dwarves, magic, orrcs etc. people with great imaginations put them in books, if theyt got that from scientific observations then we would know about tem in real life! how could things possibly exist from people books that are totly fantasy? what are the chances of that?!

yea well thats what alot of us are trying to say to they ones who belive they never existed is that there are animals that we have found fossiles of or that are still alive, that can be very closely related to a dragon....

well i would cosider a dragon larger than a pteradatyl and 4 legs that could fly... there could be a way they could breath fire that is realistic, but they dont have to breath fire to be a dragon

Dragons do exist, there are komodo Dragons in the world, and there are flying Lizards that grow up to be about 4-7 ft long.
Either if they are the kind you expected they do exist. They just cant talk, give you magic abilites, grow 20 ft high, or breath flames. Like most peoples idea of a "Dragon" is.
