Re: AVATAR: The Legend of Korra
I like watching Korra as soon as possible, so I always suffer through the commercials. Some commercials are certainly better than others, though.
It certainly is. There's definitely stuff there I'd like to see, but I can't ever see myself going.

Re: AVATAR: The Legend of Korra
I normally have to wait until the day after the episode airs to find it online somewhere. I don't watch it on the nick website though, they interrupt their stream with commercials. I just find one of the free, reliable sites that carry Avatar. I was actually rewatching the first season on one of those sites the other day, but I got distracted halfway through and didn't finish.
I'm not sure what I would do at ComiCon if I ever got to go. Unless maybe it's sometime before Doctor Who ends. Then I would definitely go to their panel.

Re: AVATAR: The Legend of Korra
I'm not really sure what I would go see either. I have some new stuff to share. Book 2 will premiere on Friday, September 13th at 7:00pm EDT. This was given along with a trailer on Yahoo! TV.There's an animated web series about Bolin and Mako on Nick.com. It focuses on them when they were younger and living in the streets. I couldn't watch it when I tried because the video refused to buffer, but here's the link.

Yes!!! That's less than a month away! Finally! XD
That trailer was great, I loved the part where Bolin asked someone to deflate him and the chick just overkilled on the ice spears. XD

Re: AVATAR: The Legend of Korra
Well, the hour-long premiere of Book 2 was last night. I was very impressed. I was happy to find that the pacing issue of Book 1 (especially Book 1's premiere) seemed to have been fixed in the transition. I greatly enjoyed the episodes. What did you guys think?
And, as a topic of discussion, do you guys think Unalaq is a bad guy? Or does he have good intentions but is going about it the wrong way?

Re: AVATAR: The Legend of Korra
I watched it Saturday after it premiered, and I heartily agree. It was an epic premiere, it was everything I was hoping for.
It's really too early to say if he's a real bad guy, but I do get the feeling that he has motives beyond what he's telling. I would have to watch it again, but I'm pretty sure he had a hand in what got Korra's dad banished from the north.
Also, Bolin and Korra's cousin. Oh my. XD "Why are you engaging in physical contact with another woman?" Pretty much any scene where they talked to each other made me laugh. XD

Re: AVATAR: The Legend of Korra
Yeah, that was funny. Also, "You amuse me. I shall make you mine." I feel like it's a good idea to bring the South back to its spiritual roots (I mean, not having evil spirits attack is a good thing), but I definitely think Unalaq is going about it the wrong way from what we've seen so far. Another thing that's been bothering me - and maybe it would be clearer if I watched it again - but why did opening the spirit portal help restore balance? I know it does, but I don't recall them saying how.

Re: AVATAR: The Legend of Korra
Now that you mention it, I don't remember them mentioning that eithe. O.o I'll have to watch it again myself, I guess. XD
Yeah, that part isn't so bad. But deposing his brother and bringing a military force into it? To be honest, the first thing I said when that part happened was, "But everything changed when the Water Tribe attacked." Lol, I literally said it out loud, sitting alone in my room with only my computer to hear me. XD
This may just be me and my fangirl excitement over here, but I feel like this season is already promising big, fantastic things and will live up to it.
Also, what's up with Jinora, I wonder. O.o

Re: AVATAR: The Legend of Korra
I did watch it again, and I still didn't get an explanation for it. I guess it's just something we'll have to accept. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed that Unalaq just turned out to be a straight-up villain, basically. I was okay with the concept of him rigging the trial, but getting Tonraq banished too? Really? And, additionally, it looks like the airdate may be changing? As of this post, this page shows new episodes airing in the middle of the week and on Nicktoons instead of Nick. Which s'ucks because I don't get Nicktoons with my current TV subscription. Hopefully it's just a scheduling error, but I suppose we'll find out next week.

Re: AVATAR: The Legend of Korra
It could be a scheduling error and they're showing where they're showing reruns from last season on that channel during the week. But either way, it's not too terrible. I can hook you up with a couple of sites that have the new episodes up the day after they air, that's how I've stayed caught up.
Yeah, I already guessed that he rigged the trial (I just don't trust him, and when he "suggested" that judge because he knew he was honest, I got suspicious XD ) and I had suspected he had something to do with Tonraq's banishment, so I wasn't *too* surprised.
caterpillar Eska. x.x First the necklace and then her at the end looking all freaky. x.x Not to mention Pabu's face when Bolin and him turned up wearing those robes. XD
I also liked that family photo of Aang, Katara, and their kids, but I didn't get a long enough look at it. I'll have to find a screenshot of it.

Re: AVATAR: The Legend of Korra
It did turn out to be a scheduling error. Although Korra has been moved to 8:30 Friday nights instead of 7:00. Although, they're airing Beginnings, Parts 1 and 2 together in an 8:00-9:00 block on the 18th, which will be cool. It's not really that I was surprised, per se... It's more that I'm kind of disappointed that they just made Unalaq into a straight-up villain, rather than keeping it "morally gray," so to speak. Yeah, Eska's reaction was pretty funny in Civil Wars, Part 2. Although it felt a little tired in Peacekeepers. Here's a screen of that picture. If for some reason it won't hotlink directly to the screenshot, it's on this page.So Peacekeepers was an okay episode overall. I don't really know what it was about it, but I didn't enjoy it as much as Civil Wars, Part 2. One thing that bugged me though is that Desna and Eska were supposed to keep Korra alive, but they didn't even try to help her against that spirit. Anyway, here's the description for the next epsiode, The Sting: When Triad activity threatens to put Future Industries out of business, Mako performs an investigation and uncovers a conspiracy.I wonder why Korra isn't mentioned...? Of course, Tenzin hasn't been mentioned in some of the descriptions either, and he's been in them, so it may not mean anything.

Re: AVATAR: The Legend of Korra
Geez, Bumi looked a *lot* like Sokka when he was young. Guess that explains why they act so much alike. XD And their daughter (can't remember what her name is) looks like a miniature Katara.
They probably didn't think there was much they could do. That spirit was *huge*, and even Korra couldn't tame it while in the Avatar State.
The writers are probably thinking that once you betray your brother for greedy purposes, there's no gray area for you. XD Of course it's still early in the season. We know what he did, but we haven't heard the why. We all just assume that he's a real bad dude. Even if it turns out he thought he was doing right, I'm still gonna think he's creepy and definitely untrustworthy.

Re: AVATAR: The Legend of Korra
SPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILER
Holy spirits of Light and Chaos, Batman! Did y'all see last night's eps? :-0 That was definitely one of the best/most interesting Avatar episodes ever. The only complaint I have is that it was too fast. I wanted to see more of Wan's training with Rava (Brava?).
I would definitely be okay with it if they decided to expand on that and show some more of it later, even if it's not in Korra's era.

Re: AVATAR: The Legend of Korra
I did enjoy Beginnings overall. I have some issues with it (like the fact that it kind of retconned a bunch of the mythos from AtLA) but they were very solid. And there's a nice connection to an earlier episode: http://piandao.org/screenshots/spirits/ ... 2-2080.jpgAnyway, here's the description for the next episode: Korra seeks Tenzin's help to enter the spirit world for the first time.Which sounds like a good episode. I've been waiting for Tenzin to move out of the B-plot. Unfortunately, it airs the on the first of November, so we have a one week hiatus to wait through.

Re: AVATAR: The Legend of Korra
That's not such a terrible wait, and I was kind of expecting it after such a major episode.
Now that I see that screen shot after watching it, I know what I'm looking at now. XD The first time they showed it I just got a brief glance at it. Now I can see it's Rava *and* the first Avatar.
Can't wait for Friday

Nope, it's not too long and it'll be over tonight! Coming in to post the description for the episode following tonight's, called "A New Spiritual Age": Korra enters the spirit world and struggles with the Avatar's relationship with the spirits.

I haven't seen the episode, but it makes me kind of nervous. Wonder if they're gonna shake things up majorly, or if they're just teasing us with that description. O.o
Guess I'll know tomorrow, lol XD
