Wil payed the man and left. He looked at his purchase. hmph, another worthless, rusted set. He thought to himself. He'd just purchased the fourth set of armor in less than two days and all four sets were rusty and wouldn't do for his next job as a mercenary. I'm supposed to fight that guy in this worthless junk? Wil thought. He got back to the shack he was renting. He threw the armor on a chair and stood there. For a fourteen year old, he made a very good living as a mercenary. Kagraign, are you still well out there? He thought. Yes, I've found an oasis out here with all the food and water I could want. Stay as long as you like. Kagraign replied. Wil threw off the dark cloak he'd adorned since coming to this desert city and slumped onto his bed. Not very many people here liked mercenaries, for most of them were brigands of thugs bought by Galbatorix to keep power in the desert. Wil had always protested to everyone who knew him that he'd work for anyone but Galbatorix, but most failed to see the big picture. Just then, a figure walked into Wil's shack. Wil stood and put his hand on Mor'ranr out of habit. "Can I help you?" he asked.

" Not realy." Reb replied smilling. "But the question is, can this help you?" Reb said lying a set of Elvish armor right infront of him. " I had it made for you, out of friendship." Reb said then shook Wil's hand. She smiled, and pulled her flowy skirt into the doorway, and then took a seat in the corner of the shack. She took a look around. " Star Gazer go to a secluded place and stay." Reb comanded mentaly.

Wil knelt and inspected the armor. "Made of...mithril or steel. Very fine work. Very flexible. Thank you Reb. This will be very good armor. You could open your own shop with this kind of work. But I know, the thrill of adventure would haunt you forever if you settled. I'm getting anxious to travel just for being here for four days. What would a year do?" Wil asked. He shuddered at the thought. "My friend, Lucia, is out buying supplies for the journey right now. She's got her own special armor to use, so don't worry. Have I not told you about her? She's traveled with me since she caught me feeding Kagraign a couple weeks before we fled Therinsford. She somehow acquired armor and a very thin, very lethal sword just days before we left, and she begged and blackmailed to get to go with me. I wouldn't trade her for all of Galbatorix' gold. She's my very best friend and I don't know what I'd do without her." Wil said. Then he went over to the small table, held up some salted pork and offered it to Reb. "You hungry?" he asked.

" Very interesting." Reb replied, then was lost in deep thought. How could someone just walk up and find a dragon rider feeding his dragon? " NOt very easily." Star Gazer answered.

Wil could read the look on Reb's face. He hastily added, "I took a chance and fed him in a clearing. She'd been suspicous of me disappearing for quite a while. One day she followed me and that's when she caught me. It wasn't like I was feeding him in the middle of the village."

" I trust you." Reb said, then got back up, and looked at the rusty armour questioningly.

Wil noticed her looking at the four sets of rusty armor. "Those are failed attempts at purchasing armor." Wil said. "I'll probably find a place to sell it later on. Or I'll make it into something else and sell it then" he finished.

" Well then it is just as well that I brought you the armour I had made for you then huh?" Reb asked smilling. She then took a little tour of the hut.
