have u ever noticed that somewhere in some of the books it will say that artmeis doesn't like one thing but then he will go and do it in another book. Example it says in book one that artmeis cracked his knuckles as he got ready to work, but then in eternity code it says that jon spiro cracked his knuckes i thing that artemis despises.is that a sign of how he changed or am i just be paranoid.

I never noticed that. Hehe... I was reading one of Eoin Colfer's other books (The Supernaturalist) and it has one of the main character's name as Stefan Bashkir... the same name that Artemis used when he won... I believe it was... a chess tournament.

Maybe I should just pay more attention to the books for things like that.

I read Artemis Fowl some days ago... in a little quest of mine to read a huge ton of fantasy books... I wasn't completely captured by his writing style. He sometimes vaguely refers to himself (the writer) and at other times mentions facts to the reader in a totally detached way which makes the book feel slightly amateurish - however I still think its a great book to read and I will continue through the series soon

Hmmm... I tried to read The Opal Deception a few weeks ago... It just flat out bored me. . I was quite upset with Eoin Colfer about that one.

lol... it would be good if someone could write a story with a similar concept but with a better construction and style.

I haven't read that one yet. i am waiting for it to either come out in paperback or for my library to get it in. i have no clue which one will come first.

lol you know all the books that I want to read are all on loan and reserved in my public library.... but at school, they are all there cos nobody wants to borrow books lol

It always seems that when i am checking something else out and i don't want to get that book it is there but then when i want to get it it is gone.

Ive only read one but it was pretty good

I read the one with the gold cover (can't remember the name) and it was pretty good. Now I am reading the eternity code (red cover) and so far it is quite good.
I just hate Artemis Fowl so much, he's so precocious and stuck up!

Well, here eternity code has a read cover, so there must be different cover in different places.

The American versions are different from the ones in other places. For instances, Opal Deception is amber/ornage here and blue everywhere else. How do I know this? I travel.

I love these books, and Eoin Colfer's others, like the Wish List and the Supernaturalist.

Artemis Fowl is a big wuss in the first book and Opal Deception. Can't beleive he managed to kidnap a fairy anyhow... And who believes in fairies anymore... I think elves are cool, the ones in the Inheritance Trilogy anyway. They kick butt...

No eternity code has a red cover, artemis fowl is gold, the arctic incident silver and the opal deseption is blue. I am a big eion colfer fan, though the opal deception wasnt very good. i was disapointed! but i still enjoyed them.
I wish i was as clever as him!!! and as rich! imagine all the books i could buy lol!

*shakes head a Isidar* In the different countries the covers of the books are different. In the U.S. the cover of Eternity Code was blue.

You guys should read Supernaturalist. It's also by Eoin Colfer. It's a really good book...I might even venture to say it's better than Artemis Fowl. But that's my opinion.

Arctic Circle isn't that good for an Artemis Fowl book. You should try the others: they're a lot better. And Supernaturalist isn't really like them, nor is The Wish List, another book by Eoin Colfer which I found disturbingly weird.

LOL maybe because you only read the Artemis Fowl books? The different styles really jump out at you if you read some of Eoin Colfer's other books.

I can't wait until book 5 comes out in sep. 12. I think it's suppose to be about time-traveling demons trying to take over the world and it may also have some big battles. that I am not sure.
