Post The Female Characters in the Inheritance Trilogy
I was just thinking, this is one of the few novels where the women are just as strong as the men. paolini gives justice to women in his novels, and i commend him for that. you barely encounter damsels in distress... and without the women, lets face it... Eragon is a goner... his female dragon is always there to protect him.

youve got a good leader nasuada, a brave and skilled elf arya, and well islanzadi is not so bad herself, and a fantastic dragon, a beautiful, wild beast that can combine ferocity and gentleness in one.

i suppose she's just expressing gratitude for good female role models
and not a book where only the men are heroes
i agree
no sexism is good

Well, the damsel in distress was a method thought up in the medieval ages and was continued up until the 19th century. If Paolini had written a damsel in distress, many would be disappointed.

Ahh but he did..Remimber? It book one Eragon saved Arya from the shade. But then in the rest she is powerfull so he had a few sections when the males come to the rescue.

People always think that men r stronger and smarter and better than women, but in some ways it's the opposite. I like how CP puts both men and women at power in his books, and that a lot 2 expect out of someone so young. But it's also nice that he put in a little classic damsel in destress in book 1 too.

In the book Im writing called Secrets book one: The Forgotten Heir the main charcter is an elf girl who is the last relative of an ancient queena and she saves this dood in an enemy dungeon. Cause when she is captured by the ervil people she is in the same place as him and when people come to rescue her she takes him too, even though he is one of the bad doods, but he said he quit on the evil guy. The only reason is cause shew likes him though. . . I'm not telling the ending. . . read it when it comes out! That's a long ways away though. . . I just finished chapter 2, but on another book I'm done. It's lost on a broken computer though. . . but anyway, Im gald CP makes women powerful too!
