I just thought of something realllly out there: if the final battle is in Farthen Dur (the dwarf mountain thing) then once the big crystal (whats it called again? i cant remember...) is put together by Saphira, a couple days before the battle, Eragon, Arya, and everyone else that can do magic, can put energy into the crystal so that in the final battle, when its eragon against galbatorix, efagon has access to alot of energy, therefore beating galby by endurance...

Or out side of the city but I don't think it will matter where it takes place, Eragon still wins.

Not a bad idea, maybe there was energy in it and maybe its in the shards and perhaps saphira uses its own energy to fix it.....

Its most probably going to be in Uru'baen (With a ^ on top of the u), because the Varden are attacking from the South while the Elves are attacking from the north. They will all converge at Uru'baen where Eragon will gather energy from all the people of the land to summon up more power than even Galby can muster. Just my thought

it was a pretty good theory tho..... but no i dnt think the battle will b in Farthen Dur it mite b on the plans of the Hadrac as the elves have to have fighting space as do the Varden n Dwarves ( i think in the final battle the hole of the Dwarven nation will join in the fighting, as will the elves) i dnt think Eagon's army will b big enough to beat Galby's but if Eragon some how finds the power to kill Galby thn his army will disintergrate(sp) n surrender, if Murtagh dnt take control.... or cause trouble.

In the case of battles, most of the time you want the enemy to attack you so you gain the defensive bonuses (ie Terrain, helpful people, more morale). Since the Elves and Varden are already at a huge disadvantage, I'm sure they will want to take advantage of the forests or the lands of Surda, where they can maximize their damage output, and minimize their losses.

However, if the Dwarves and the Varden attacked from Surda while the Elves attack from the north, Galb's army will have to split or defend at a one central place which would most likely be Urubaen. If the former occurred, Galb can only be in one place at once, so it would be likely that Murtagh will take one half while Galb takes another. It would be very unlikely that the Elves, Varden, and Dwarves can win on the offense just because of the rider disadvantage. Though if the later occurred, Murtagh and Galb would be at the same place which could spell destruction for the Elven, Dwarven, and Varden forces.

From the situations, the only way to make a successful attack is to train the 4th rider, but it will not be a even match then, since Murtagh and Galb are trained much better than Eragon and whatever rider he brings along.

i knida like that but that does noit seem like something chris would come up with maybe instead there is a big sruggle and eragon wins just by being lucky or actually becomes that powerful enought to win the battle.

i dont think he will have to garther energy at all i mean he could be that powerful where he just beat galbytraiox without any help. i mean there is the saying
good will always triumph over evil
that say could some into play and after all the years of storing energy galby could just be weaker because of that saying. so in the end eragon wins right??

the final battle will not be in Urubaen. there will be a battle, but it's not going to be the final confrontation. the final battle between eragon and Saphira and Galbatorix and Shruikan will take place at Doru Araeba. don't ask me how i know, i just do. Doru Araeba is just too perfect a place for Galbatorix to meet his downfall.

ok well isidar mithrim is what ur talking about,or the star sapphire,ne ways maybe they carry the shards with them instead of the battle taking place there 0_o
