Who in here homeschools? I just started TODAY!!!!!!! I'm so happy!

I have home schooled all my life. I like it. I am starting public next year. Part time. My mom says that she won't be able to teach me math next year because it has gotten to complicated.

the greatest part of homeschool is that you can eat, or drink, or chew gum, or go to the bathroom, or watch TV, or talk on the phone as you work. If you're really good. you cann do them all at once

i was homeshcooled for half a year.

I am in seventh. I will be in eighth next year. I know. We get out earlyer then everyone else. I get to sleep in until 8:30. It rocks.

i would NEVER want to be homeschooled with my parents!!

My mom was a teacher before she had kids. So she knows what she is doing. Well I guess you get used to it. I only have one friend and shes moving. So I guess public shools are better in some ways.

public schools build up ur social side. homeschool doesnt. unless u have friends come over and learn with you

I've beeen public schooled all of my life. It's good because I don't know where I'd go for social-ness outside of it. Other than that, it pretty much sucks.

Im a freshman this year i don't think i could stand beign with my mom or dad all day, i would go mad. lol

I've been homeschooled most of my life, before that I went to private muslim schools. But I'm hecka behind in my studies because my moms been either pregnant or just had a kid or something, plus, I'm just lazy!

Looks like for the moment that I am the only one that is in a private. You might be wondering why he is not in a public school, well the reason is that there are no public schools that I could go at, the publics are all arabic schools.

In highschool I went to private Catholic school and there were only girls... Pretty fun, though! Wearing long socks and short skirt lol most of our girls were hot, even I admit it..

Yes I guess. But over time you get used to it. And you get a stronger relationship with them. Your not so disstant. I like it. It is easier for me to talk to her.

The only non-public schools we have around here are the catholic ones, which are really expensive. And then our board of edu. decided to segregate our classes by sex, so i have to spend all day in a room full of boys... So in a way public school here is worse for your social skills, as well as for you intelligence ;P

I just had finals, grrr. My Geometry class, which is 2 years ahead, sucks. But those are things you get in public schools, more funding,better paid, better teachers, gov. regulated stuff.

My mom wanted me to go to an private school a while back, which I shot down. I like public school.

yeah i get Bs in my classes im not very smart but i play alot of sports so the teachers like me they all used to play sports stuff like that. so any way they take it easy on me.

Yes, but at public schools people get bullied, you get detentions, you have to wear a horrible, ugly uniform (well you do here anyway), you have to stand outside in the freezing cold at break, and all the teachers shove you out the door when you go in the art block to stand by the radiator!

I still like going to a public school, it brings out your social side. Private schools are too expensive.

I have to wear ¨same clothes only when I was going into dancing lessons-but i was the only one wih tie (maybe a have a photo somewhere a should looked for it but if I will found it close your eyes it should be the worse thing you will ever see )

Ive been in public all my life, i know people in my class since like i was 4. I soo want to be homeschooled but its harder in high school.

Being Homeschooled would absoultly SUCK i mean no friends and its not all fun and games like chewing gum and all that while ur working unless ur parents dont care about ur education....well i most likely perfer public i dont like all those private preps......

I've been public schooled all my life, and I like it!! this is my 13th year in the public school... (school system here is a bit strange, it's divided into: 3 years, from 3 to 6 years old/ 5 years, from 6 to 11, like a primary school/ 3 years, from 11 to 14, like a secondary school, and after you can choose which school attend... 5 years or 3 years, like an high school... I chose 5 years ) however I could choose only a public or a privat school, not homeschool, because here in Italy we can't do it...


But in our school we haven't to wear any uniform!!! We can wear every sort of clothes!!! ^^

I like homeschoolling.

I'm very annoyed now, why do I have to wear uniform? Everyone else gets to wear whatever they want, or even just a plain white shirt wouldn't be so bad, but I have to go round in STRIPES! grrr...

I am sorry. I friend had to wear a uniform before she moved. It was cool. You would wear a white shirt, navy blue or tan pants. Or you could wear a skirt. She liked it.

I think it's not so bad wear an uniform... every morning you haven't the problem of : "what can I wear today?"

have you been homeschooled before shadeslayer? Because I'm not and I would like to be. The people I know who are homeschooled are so much better, socially and mentally. for those who go to public or private school, they're all peer pressured into acting like d***heads. And I go to a private school lol. I can say its much better than public school, but i still dont think much of it.


my school has uniforms. Because we have uniforms, i wish i could have no uniform lol. But i guess having no uniform would have problems of its own

Actually im not a d***head i actually have skipped a grade and could have skipped another i have many friends (6 best friends) and 20-30 friends and im not mental

It's just the typical stereotypes- home schooled people are loners, private schools are for stuck up poofs and public schools are for rough vandalising d*** heads. You can say all nurses are women, but that doesn't make it true. Whatever you are a geek, rebel, complete d*** head or whatever depends on your personality, not what school you go to!

However I will say that all people who do go to public or private school ARE affected in some way or other by peer pressure. I question those who say otherwise. I myself go to private school lol. And i hate the way all the students attempt to achieve coolness. and to shadeslayer, I'm not aiming the comment I made at anyone. I can't believe you actually thought it was aimed at you, especially considering you... jumped a grade. Its nice to see you have six best friends. to change my initial statement, I will say that all public and private schools have their own little cool circles which pressure all students to act like d***heads. some people don't, which is why they are not 'cool' to some people lol.

Who? who jumped 2 grades ? I missed something here... SO COOL!! You can accelerate!! I was 17 when I graduate high school, what about you? (I mean, when you graduate, I know you're now mostly 13-15)

Shadeslayer jumped a grade, and he said he could have jumped two grades. I jumped a grade too. I'll graduate high school at 16... yeah now i'm 14. I turned 14 some days ago. I wish i stayed 13 lol. But i also can't wait to get out of high school... I hope uni will be better, cos high school isnt much.

What about college? Sixth form?

lol it really sucks to be younger than everyone else, esp. in high school. most of my friends will be able to drive next year, and they started working last year. i can only start work at the end of this year and wont be able to drive till i'm out of school!

its not so bad. i act a little older then my age so i feel like im not so young.

It's not sucks at all!! Lol.. I'm younger than my friends, usually they were born at 82-83 while I was born at 84 so... i'm younger It's very fun you can "steal some age" that means when you graduate (college) you're still quite young and have more chance to succeed than your friends... Or, if you failed or delay your study (dont' wish for it), you can still graduate at the same age with your friends!! Trust me they're more of benefit than the loss of being young!

I guess when you're younger, you'd like to be older, and when you're old, you'd like to be younger. If that makes sense...

i'v no problem with getting older. in fact i must be older to unleish my plans to get rich and TAKE DOWN THE TABACO EMPIRE AND RULE THE BUISNESS WORLD AND CONTROL EVERYTHING IN MY PATH AS I CARVE MY HISTORY INTO THE STONE OF SCIENCE!!!!
