In Brisingr, when Eragon visited his tent, Jeod told him that his job was finding unknown/secret areas or entrances into cities. He said since the cities were extremely old, he had no doubt that they existed, there was only the problem of finding them. Will he find something that is potentially advantageous to the Varden? CP tends to have a recurring theme that stuff he mentions have bigger parts than they would seem. I'm thinking that Jeod will find something useful, probably an entrance into one of the big cities. Anybody else?

Maybe a secret tunnel into uru'baen.

It's obvious he's going to find an entrance into Uru'baen, and this is where Eragon and Saphira will first confront Galbatorix and Shruikan.

no offence but I can't see why Eragon and Saphira need to find a way into Uru'baen from the ground when they can just fly over the walls, nor can I imagine that Saphira would fit in any hidden entranceway.

They would need a secret entrance into uru'baen to steal the last egg.

How would you suggest that they steal an egg which is so well hidden that even Brom gave up even the faintest hope of even finding out it's location. we don't even know if they egg is in Uru'baen if I was Galby I would hide it somewhere a lot less obvious. Even if they did break into Uru'baen and the egg was there and they did capture it and escape and it hatched for someone it would still be of no help to Eragon and Saphira because the dragon would be too small to be of any use in a fight. For a variety of reasons that I won't list here I doubt that there will be a time-lapse that will allow the dragon to become useful so I can't see why CP would put such a pointless chapter in an already (I hope) large book.

Actually it's a lot longer than you think. Saphira was almost a month old before they even left Carvahall. Saphira was around six months old during the battle of farthen dur. The varden don't have half a year they are in the middle of invading the empire if they stop pressing their attack then the empire will attack and probably take Surda.

That is a fairly big point you know. Saving the entire race of dragons. Also saying that is had nothing else to do is not a reason for dragon to hatch and to gain a rider and then to fight Galby. *Because there's nothing else for it to do.*

There might be an entrance right into the place were Galby is hiding the egg.

Which is so unbelievably unlikely that it will never happen. Besides Jeod has already found one secret entrance into Uru'baen there's not much chance of him finding another.

I know it is far fetched. Maybe Joed won't find anything.
