Math problems!!!!!(...)
Well I know many people wont like this topic if they hate school but im posting ti anyway because there are people who do like it and may want to do it.
Here are the rules
You can make any question as long as it math realted
You cannot post another question if the current one is not answerd or is "skipped"
Try to make them not to hard like 8th grade math would be the highest if you have one you are unsure of pm it to me.
Happy math solving!
First problem
The square root of 64 is what?

that's a stupid question Eragon109 It could be anything. Well, there's loads of answers for that, but this works:
P=8
n=10
Next question:
give the formula for finding the circumference of a circle (I don't think there's a symbol for pi on keyboards, so just write pi instead)

Ok, I got one. Imagine a rectangle. One of the long sides is labeled 4x and one of the short sides is labeled 3. Write an expression for the perimeter of the rectangle. (This doesn't mean the answer, just an expression). This should be easy.

kind of a riddle:
"My oldest is twice as old as my youngest."
"I am four times as old as my oldest, but that sounds young
cuz my wife is seven times as old as my youngest."
"But in reality she is 4 years younger than me."
What are our ages from old to young?

What are our ages from old to young?
Hemm... 3 variables...
oldest = x
youngest = y
myself = I
my wife = W
Equation:
x = 2y I = 4x w = 7y w = I - 4
therefore I = 7y+4
x=2y
I=4x
------- +
x+I = 2y + 4x
x+(7y+4) = 2y + 4x
5y -3x + 4 = 0
Because x=2y , thus:
Y=4
X=8
W=28
I=32

S^2=A
A=196
sqrt(196) = S
S = 14
P = 4(S) (because its a square)
P = 56
56.
Evaluate the expression without using a calculator..
log 243 ^ 2
3
(Log base 3 of 243 ^ 2)

Do you know about ABC formula?? It's very powerful to solve a problem like this, especially for problems that can't be solve with (x+...)(x-...) The problem is.. I'm not sure I type the right formula--coz the last time I used it was about 4-5 years ago !!
.....................___
x1,2 = -b ± \/4ac
.................2a
..........................._____
x1,2 = -(-16) ± \/4.2.60
.................2.2
......................___
x1,2 = 16 ± \/480
.................4
x1= 9,477
x2= -1,477

a. 10 out of 25, so that would be a chance of 2 out of 5
b. since it would seem too easy to just be the same as answer a... I think you mean first taking out 1 red one, THEN take a blue one, so that would be:
10 out of 24, which is 5 out of 12 simplified..

=(x.2x)+(x.-10)+(-12x)+60
=2x²-10x-12x+60
=2x²-22x+60
Lil Killer how is this..? Am I count right?? I know the formula is.. something like
[ x² + (a+b)x + a.b ]
But I remember there's some exception. If you got a number on x² (in these problem set was 2x²), it applied a totally different formula to figured the root, but I forgot how..
Anyway, my previous answer was false... It seems I mistaken the formula a bit.. You can asked your teacher about the formula I wrote above and find out the right one !

1km = 1000m
1m = 10 dm
so 1km = 10000 dm
and 12km = 120000dm

Am I count right?? I know the formula is.. something like [ x² + (a+b)x + a.b ] But I remember there's some exception. If you got a number on x² (in these problem set was 2x²), it applied a totally different formula to figured the root, but I forgot how.. Anyway, my previous answer was false... It seems I mistaken the formula a bit.. You can asked your teacher about the formula I wrote above and find out the right one !
Looks like calculating with discriminant (no idea what's the name in English)...it's quiet easy when you know how

x = -10
4x-10+6 = -34
3x-10-4 = -34

well, this is part of some coursework we had to do.
Imagine 9 little 1cm square cubes. They are stacked into a larger 3x3x3 cube. This big cube is painted blue. This is repeated with big 4x4x4 and 5x5x5 cubes which are painted blue. What is the nth term formula for how many small cubes have 2 blue painted sides? (If you have a logical mind, you don't need maths for this, just common sense. If you're good at maths, but not common sense, use maths. If you're not good at either, go away lol jk) Oh yeah, and if the cube is 3x3x3 it is the 3rd term, if it is 4x4x4 it is the 4th term and so on...

it's a formula, that has n in it and some numbers and stuff, so no. If you give up, just say.

4x4
top: 2*4
side: 2*4
bottom: 2*4
total is 8*3 = 24
5x5
top: 3*4
side: 3*4
bottom: 3*4
total is 12*3 = 36

What's the difference between grades and years? oh, hang on, i found a table:
http://www.education-otherwise.org/Triv ... 0Chart.htm
Where it says KS1 is where year 1 is and it just goes up from there.
That means america's grade 1 is england's year 2. America's grade 8 must be england's year 9. Ok, that means I'm year 9/8th grade.

Sorry, honey but to multiply with matrix has a completely different way to solve..
~Wrong Answer~
PS: I studied this on my 10th (or 11th) year if anyone give up I'd happy to tell you so you'll be the first in your year who knows how to solve this :p

Yep, Matrices are miltiplied first row, first column, first row second column. Second row, first column, second row, second column, etc. Long process, for no reason. Matrices Sux0rz

ok, I've got a nice bit of high-level trigonometry. If you need a clue, ask me. find the side marked x.
ps. sorry for the messiness lol , the measurements are 8m on the left, 5m on the right and the angle is 43. x is on the bottom

Awww, why does it have to be 43 ? Why can't it just be 45 ?
Now I have to calculate more..
