Daris
Name: - Daris
Age:- 1260
Gender: - Male
Skills: Daris is a dragon who can change his elements quickly from anything to anything else. One moment he can be breathing fire, the next water, ice, or any of the other elements he can use. Daris's flame is edged in green even when it's a flame of ice, or water. When it's one of poison it is green completely, while the rest of the elements colors show in the middle of of the 'flame'. The elements he can use are: Light, Dark, Spirit, Air, Fire, Water, Ice, Poison, and Natural (stone, wood, stuff like that.) Which element he uses depends on who, or what he is fighting, and their weaknesses. And while he has all these elements he is not the strongest with using them. Any who has any of these things as a natural element is many times stronger than Daris could ever dream of being.
Weaknesses: - Daris's claws are extremely sharp, but unless the one he attacks is very vulnerable his flames do very little damage. He is not a very powerful dragon, and his scales can easily be ripped by other dragons.
Race: - Dragon
Scales: - Green
Eyes: - Phosphorescent green
Home Village: - He grew up alone in an unknown area of the Spine
Parents: - Doesn't remember them
Siblings: - Dzroginion (although his younger brother doesn't know it) Maybe more that he doesn't know of.
Character Personality: Daris is not a fun loving, or very cheerful dragon. But while he is not cheerful, he is not grumpy either. He doesn't look down on anybody, and he doesn't look up to anybody. Greed is practically non existent in him as the long years have burned it away. Daris is wise, and has often taught younger dragons how to fight, but he never allows them to praise or honor him, and he never praises them. Daris is a very down to earth type of figure, always seeming to be one with perfect manners. He has always considered himself average, and isn't too prideful, yet at the same time he doesn't ever have self pity for being "average." Daris treats all others as equals. Be they hatchlings, or mighty lords/ladies, or a peasant. He treats them all as if he lived exactly the same way as them, and they the same as him. Daris hates bullies, and is never a bully himself, except to bullies. He has a protective mindset, and will let no harm come to those who are under his care. While he treats others as if they were equal with him in life, he is still polite when he does it, and gives people them their proper titles, and of course uses "Ma'am, and sir" and other things to that effect. The strongest thing about about Daris is his heart of compassion. If he sees any who need help, or are in pain then he is willing to help them. Living alone a few hundred years in the Spine strengthened his compassion, rather than making it non existent by the time he met others. Daris is always willing to give from what he has. Fire for warmth, or ice in the hottest summer days, or whatever is asked of him. Although he never laughs, Daris is always able to find something to make a grieving heart be happy. Unlike his brother, he hates killing for pay, or just to do it. Daris only kills when it is necessary.
Character History: Daris's egg was layed at the same time as his brother's, but they had two completely different paths from then on. While the dragon riders took Dzroginion's egg--which didn't hatch for a thousand more years--Daris's parents kept his. One day they were attacked, and forced to flee. Over the Spine of the world while they were flying, Daris's mother (who was carrying his egg) dropped the green egg by accident. His parents searched a week, but could not find him, and the day after they gave up and flew away Daris hatched. Nothing but plants lived in this part of the Spine, and plants were the only thing the young hatchling could eat. For the next two hundred years Daris lived alone in the Spine, eating vegetables--he never gave it up by the way. He has vowed never to eat meat, and he never has done it before. Daris learned as he grew of the various elements he could control, and used them to help the plants near him to thrive. When Daris reached two hundred forty-seven he had his first encounter with another living, breathing creature. A young, badly wounded human once upon a time dragon rider girl fell from the sky off of her dying dragon, who lived only long enough to beg Daris to care for his rider. Daris did, and it was at that moment that he realized how good it felt to care for someone else. When she was healed, Daris flew the young once upon a time rider to Vroengard, where dragonriders cared for her. After helping the young rider Daris could no longer live in solitude in the Spine, and was soon training young dragons to fight, and many other skills. Then Galbatorix came. When Galbatorix began ruling Daris went back to his life of solitude in the Spine, but had a hard time living it and so showed himself once again. Up until that time Daris had never killed, but when he showed himself he was nearly killed, and would have been had he not killed. After killing Daris once again went into solitude. He hated himself for the longest time, until he realized that he would have died if was supposed to. He had lived, and that meant he still had a purpose in life. And so at the age of one thousand two hundred forty-seven--exactly one thousand years after meeting the first living breathing being in his life, he left the spine, only to meet the same person, still alive, but dying of age. The once upon a time rider--who's name was Jolia--gave Daris a reason to live, and told him to care for the people, and creatures of Alagaesia. Jolia died a few days later, and Daris took, and buried her beside her dragon in the spine where they had first met, and he set out to relieve people from the hard times they faced in the world.
Weapons: Sharp ivory colored teeth, and claws. He will use his wings to batter--although he prefers not to--and his elemental fire.
Likes: - Being small. He can deceive others easier with his size.
Dislikes: - Riddles--he thinks they're childish.
Animal Companions: - None
Character's Physical Description: Daris nearly looks identical to his brother, except he is a little shorter. He has no hard, ivory-like spikes on his back or neck, but does on his head. His not very hard spikes appear to be hairlike from a distance, although they do stand up like most spikes. His shortest point on his back is six ft after reaching that height he stopped growing. Daris's wingspan stretch to a length that makes him perfectly balanced. His claws are not extra large like his brother's, but they are sharp, and able to tear through the thickest stone, or hardest gem easily.
Dreams for the Future: - To see Galbatorix dead
Reason for Dreams: - Because he thinks that Galbatorix is annoying, and isn't fit to rule, although he doesn't want the Varden to be in control either.
Alignment/side: - He is against Galbatorix, but not sided with the Varden.
