OOC: Anyone may join (I encourage anyone that had rped with Augustus at some time), though I must warn you, this story may have a sad ending!!! By the way, I'd really appreciate it if we all stayed as active as possible. I know we all have lives, and I understand if you can't post for a couple days a few times, though please be sure you can post at least once or twice a week. I hope I didn't sound mean saying that

IC: Augustus, on his way to one of the most dragon populated places in Du Weldenvarden (before the fall, that is), thought back to yesterday, when he got into an argument his rider, Paconio. It wasn't the main reason he left, though it was one of the two.

It all started on a regular warm sunny day. Paconio and Augustus were laying side-by-side in the very little sun light that came through the trees. For the past few days before that, Augustus had been wondering who his parents were. Paconio always just said something like "Maybe we'll go look for them tomorrow", and he would forget it. This started to agitate Augustus, and inside a well guarded part of his mind, Augustus planned when he was going to leave.

That night, when Augustus got ready to leave, Paconio jumped outside, saying, "Augustus, where are you going?". When Augustus told him where he was going, Paconio said "Gus, please don't go. How do you know your parents are still alive? Chances are this will end badly, and you will never be the same person"

Augustus snorted, saying Paconio, I have to do this. You had the virtue of growing up with your parents. I want to at the very least meet mine. You can not stop me.

Paconio dropped to his knees, and cried out tearfully, "Augustus, can you not see I am begging you? You were with me since hatching. I am your family now, and I always will be. I will not let you do this to your self. Where ever you go, I am going to follow you"

That is where you are wrong, my friend Augustus said as he tripped Paconio with his tail and jumped into the sky faster than any of Paconio's little bird friends could, even if they had years of practice.

As he flew away from Paconio, a pit of guilt built up inside of him. How could he betray his closest ally, his RIDER?! The guilt was smashed to bits by his determined side. He wasn't about to let a little guilt send him home crying. He had acquired a source of information about where dragons would be if they were in Du Weldenvarden from one of the birds in Paconio's army. It was a mountain in the east of the large forest. He figured if his parents were alive, they would be there.

Done reliving the past, Augustus changed his course slightly, noticing he would fly right past this mountain if he were still in his previous position. Out of no where, birds with yellow tags from every direction covered his entire body. They did not attack, but instead, they weighed him down. Augustus very well knew these birds were under Paconio's command, though he still shook them off as roughly as he could. Birds and feathers flew in all directions, creating a scene of chaos.

The birds, apparently not so fond of being thrown, began pecking Augustus. He fell to the ground, though he was able to hover just enough so he wouldn't hurt himself falling. He screamed in pure frustration to everybody within a mile radius with his mind, not happy that he was being stopped.

OOC: lol it's okay to want people to be active, Ben.

IC: Solarae paced through the forest, ambling at a relaxed speed. She had no reason to hurry or even walk very fast. Du Weldenvarden was usually very peaceful. Well, peaceful when I'm not here, she thought with a laugh, remembering all the times she had gone on adventures in the dimly lit, lush green forest. She had made friends here, and gone on subsequent journeys with all of them. She had fought battles, made discoveries, and learned new things. Du Weldenvarden seemed a very enlightening place nowadays.

Solarae snorted. With all the visits she was making to her friends Paconio and Gus's house, the forest was starting to feel almost as welcoming as the deserts, or her old home near the banks of the Edda River, or the stone city of the Tribe dragons. Solarae had a plethora of places to make herself at home these days, and she was extremely grateful for it. Many simply wandered from place to place, never having any home other than the place they were born. It was a nice feeling to have more than one such location.

Soft greenery bent under the weight of the brightly colored dragoness's footsteps. The rich smells flooded past her nostrils, leaving a pleasant tingling and an itching feeling to go running after some item of prey. Hmph. Dumb tantalizing scents of the forest, tempting me to get fat. I just ate! she thought in mock annoyance, though this didn't spoil her cheerful mood in the least.

Solarae continued her walk through the trees, until she heard the sounds of someone arguing up ahead. The faint scent of a dragon briefly crossed her nose, and she heard wingbeats fading into the distance. Solarae frowned, pausing to try to hear more. The sounds faded though, until a few birds suddenly rushed from their hiding places and fluttered frantically up into the sunlight beyond the trees. Solarae began trotting towards the area she had last heard the commotion, wondering what was up.

When she reached the clearing ahead, she was startled to see a miserable-looking Paconio, Gus nowhere to be found. Paconio? What's wrong, buddy? Where did Gus go? she asked with concern, walking carefully up to the rider.

OOC: Lol, you have Phal's color there

IC: Augustus, now happy that he had assistance, said to Paconio, Hop on, you certainly can't run the entire way. He eagerly tossed Paconio onto his back with his head, ready to go find some stuff with his friends. What ever lied ahead, he knew Paconio and Solarae would be there every step of the way. I know where to go, I was informed of some mountain in the east. Apparently at some point many dragons lived there Augustus explained to Paconio and Solarae, excitement obviously in his voice.

OOC: Argh! I have too many rps to reply to! I'm getting all mixed up! lol. Oh no, I have five charries now... How am I gonna deal with that?! lol

IC: Solarae laughed as Gus insisted Paconio climb aboard. Apparently all conflict had been resolved. She took flight and fluttered above the trees, entering, for the second time, into the bright sunlit world above. A sea of green stretched out to every horizon, and an arch of blue filled everything above her. Solarae felt at once how noticeable and bright her scales must seem.

She glanced at Gus with a worried look when he spoke of a mountain to the east, where many dragons used to live. A mountain? Do you... do you know what mountain this is, by any chance? she questioned, going over all the lone mountains she knew of in the eastern parts of Du Weldenvarden.

OOC: Lol, I would say I feel your pain, but that would be lying

IC:You know... I really have no idea what mountain, the only thing I was told was that it would be the first mountain we see, so I'm thinking it's that one Augustus said, pointing to a mountain far in the east. From there, it looked like nothing more than a boulder, but if you were close up it was rather large for a mountain, and there would be a cave opening at the bottom, of witch Augustus knew not of.

Augustus flew up into the air after Solarae, feeling restless already. "Maybe we should name the mountain ourselves if we don't find a proper name? How about Gus Hill?" Paconio laughed, already getting his comical side back.

OOC: May I join?

Sera flew low over the great forest of Du Weldenvarden. She didn’t know exactly why, but she had some odd sort of feeling that was nagging at her, sort of calling her to the mountains in the eastern part of Du Weldenvarden. So, she was going.

The sleek blue dragoness flapped her small wings at a high rate to stay in the air. She cursed to herself, she was not made for flying, she was a swimmer, and there were none like her, but in the air and on land, she was ungainly and horribly slow, but she was not one to complain. She knew she was gifted, though why she did not know, she suspected that many of the reasons was because she was the protector of the sea, but that was another story.

Sera watched as the trees passed beneath her, though she was slow in the air, the land seemed to shoot past her, as if she was flying at some sort of super fast speed. She gave a toothy grin to a herd of deer as she flew over, relishing in their fear of her, and they feared her why? Of course, it was because she was a dragon, the most powerful of the races. She proudly continued on her flight, neither resting, nor eating. She was on a mission, one she really had no clue about.

The blue dragoness continued flying, until she heard something in the distance, it sounded like the wing beats of another dragon, so the curious blue dragoness immediately changed course and flew to them. She recognized the two dragons, one a small orange dragoness, was the fierce dragon: Solarae. The other was her friend, though she did not know his as well: Gus. On Gus’s back was the elf, Paochino. Sera roared a happy “hello” to the group and increased the flapping of her wings to catch them. She said in a slightly exasperated tone, Hey Solarae, Gus, Paochino, long time no see! Where have you been?

OOC: No, I do not permit you to join! *Sarcasm*

IC: "My ancestors found our green friend's egg apparently right at the mouth of a cave of a large mountain in the east. If anything, this mountain could shed light on a little bit of his history" Paconio said, eying the mountain with interest the whole while. As a child, Paconio's relatives would usually be singing about an emerald that came from deep within the belly of a beast whenever he came to visit. Although he did not know it then, they were talking about Augustus.

Augustus and Paconio both turned as Sera joined them. They had met up before, but they never had the chance to get the chance to know each other. "Hi Sera" Paconio said, eager to take to the friendly side and cover Augustus's behind.

Augustus gratefully accepted Paconio's covering, and took the time to think things over, like who his ancestors might be, what they were like, who his parents are, whether they are deceased or not, and most of all, who his siblings were. When Augustus was a hatchling, he thought that he might have brothers and sisters. He always wondered what they looked like, and how they acted. Excitement rushed through his system when he realized that it might all happen that day, and you could actually see a wave of it go through him, starting at his head and ending at his tail.

It is ok. laughed the blue draogness as she flew after the orange dragon and the blue. She roared happily, glad to be among friends and on yet another adventure.

OOC: Pass.

OOC: I'm thinking of changing the topic name, it doesn't seem very fitting. Is that okay with everyone?

OOC: Fine with me.

OOC: It's your topic, Ben.

IC: Solarae grinned when Gus announced his calculation. Oh, I could get there faster. But, you know, I wouldn't want you to strain yourselves, she said in an extremely arrogant voice, but then showed her joking attitude by a long series of laughs. I'm just kidding. Hopefully this flight gives us the opportunity to hunt. It's surprising how hungry I get, she remarked.

Solarae snorted at Sera's comment. If it was by the ocean, then me and Gus would have to fly farther. Majority rules, so ha, she said with a teasing smile. Her face turned more thoughtful when she considered what they would find. Seriously, I think I remember hearing about this cave before, or something. I don't remember. But yeah, supposedly it can give us a few answers, she commented.

OOC: *glares at voenth* Dolphins. Are. Amazing.

IC: Solarae frowned thoughtfully, trying to remember if her parents had ever mentioned other family members. She couldn't. Maybe. It'd definately be cool. If so, then you'd probably be on my mom's side of the family, the one without the fanghur blood, she replied, nodding as she thought about it. She glanced at Sera after catching her piece of meat and taking a large bite. Thanks. Fish are okay, but I prefer land food to anything else. The warm blood, the tough skin; it's very nice to the tongue, she replied.

OOC: Just make sure they're not in my tuna and I'm fine

IC:Augustus caught his meat swiftly, swallowing it whole. He licked his lips, getting any remaining flavor off of his face. He raised an eye ridge at the speak of sea-food. I've never had fish He said, wondering what it tasted like. He licked his lips again, making a note to try it sometime. He jumped out of his food thoughts with a start, noticing he was 'zoning-out'. He frowned, not satisfied with his short attention span.

He drifted off to the side of the group, saying, This mountain better at least hold some kind of information on me or a certain someone's bird friend is going bye bye. He said the last part jokingly, trying to 'break the ice' with everyone. Paconio both laughed and cried at the same time. He then rubbed his palms together, whatever was in the cave/mountain had better hold the information they needed...

OOC: Draco= worst person in the world to be talking about eating cetaceans in front of. *hisses* Got it? Okay. I've made my point.

IC: Solarae laughed. If walrus weigh a lot, how do you expect me to be able to get one to a spot I can eat it? I'm not a good swimmer, that's for sure, and there's no way I could drag anything super heavy over land for any large distance, she replied. She would stick with her own variety of food for the time being.

The orange dragoness glanced back at their destination, surprised by how close they had gotten in such a relatively short amount of time. They would be there shortly, in her estimation. Well, Gus, you ready to do some investigating? she asked her friend with a grin.

OOC: Oops, sowwy

IC:I'm ready if you are! Said Gus, speeding up even further. I always was a bad estimator... Oh well, the less time the better! He said quickly, noticing the mountain was within a moments reach. He dived downward, landing on the ground and allowing Paconio off of his back. Before them was a gigantic opening to a dark cave. Out from the darkness came a figure. It was too dark to see any details other than it was a rather muscular and tall two-legs. Augustus growled lowly, not wanting to draw any nearer.

"Why hello green one, we've been expecting you for quite some time now..." The figure said, almost whispered. "I know what you're here for..."

Augustus let smoke fill everyone's field of vision. If you know what we're here for, than there must be a catch, isn't there? he asked most threateningly.

Solarae's jaw dropped open and hung there, her eyes wide and outraged. Oh! Oh! Oh, you did not just challenge me! You did not just do that! You know what?! I will enter this cavern, I will kick your sorry butts, and I will emerge victorious. Bring it on! she screeched in an outraged, indignant voice. There was no way anyone was saying they would kill her and get away with it. No way.

I'd like to see you try and keep me out! I would really love to see that! she shouted as she marched straight forward and into the cave, to determined to check to see if her friends were following. It is on, now!

OOC: That was awesomely fun to write. I love Solarae.

OOC: Lol, it sounds quite like Solarae to do that

IC:As the cave's darkness enveloped him, Augustus lit a small fire. What he saw was amazing. The walls were perfectly round, smooth, nothing was out of place at all. Wow... I never imagined someone could do something as perfect as this... He said in utter awe, but then he realized he wasn't there to marvel at walls. He took on a more determined attitude, thinking of what he would find at the end of the cave.

After awhile, the cave led into a large square area. Skeletons littered the area, giving it an eerie appearance. In the center of the room stood a strong and powerful looking elf, but it wasn't the figure from outside of the cave. "Many have faced me, but none have survived. Fight me if you wish, or turn back now..." He rasped. The elf's voice sounded as if it hadn't been uses in a long, long time.

"I challenge you" Said Paconio as he stepped forward, sword drawn. He stood directly across from the elder elf, fully prepared for the fight of his life. The two then clashed swords with a loud twang. Paconio was surprised at the other elf's speed, thinking that the elf was probably equally as good as himself.

Nooo! We are here for me, not you, you don't need to fight for me! Augustus yelled at Paconio, about to jump in to stop him.

Actually, I do, Gus. Who knows how many people are in here? You could get seriously hurt. Paconio said slowly, trying to concentrate on his fighting as best as he could.

Well I can't allow you to get hurt for me Augustus said, jumping into the middle of the fight.

Paconio said in reply, Gus... I didn't want to do this but... He then lightly pushed the three further into the cave with magic, relieved to get some time to fight, alone.

OOC: Sorry for taking so long to reply... My idiot brother got on the internet and deleted all of my work in here

Srea looked at the green dragon and said, This is far more than just a labyrinth, this is a test. if I had to guess, your "friend" in on the other side of this, also, Solarae, no ofense, but this is more my element, I will go first. said the blue dragoness as she struck out, walking at a rapid pace toward the unknown. She looked about and noticed that there were foot-prints, of some creature. She said nothing to the others, but she felt a presence nearby.

The creature moved, it smelled the intruders, this had been his first meal in years, this would be good, oh so good.

Oh, you guys can lead all you want, but if you want any shortcuts, don't hesitate to ask, Solarae replied, not really caring that the much younger dragoness was demanding to lead. To demonstrate her offer of finding a shortcut, Solarae's body turned into a raging inferno, and she jumped forward, clawing and biting her way through a stone wall that her intense heat melted into a molten goo. When she reached the other side, Solarae ceased her fire and turned around with a grin. And that is what I mean, right there, she said proudly to herself.

OOC: Random stuff going through my brain: "And this is why, this is why, this is why I'm hot!" rofl!

OOC: Solarae is the funniest dragon ever!

IC:I'm not so sure that what I'm looking for is at the end of this, Sera Augustus said. I think that the person outside would have more of a challenge for three dragons, not to mention a rider, but something is in here, I can sense it...

Augustus stared with his jaw wide open as Solarae melted herself right through the wall. Now, why didn't I think of that? He asked to nobody in particular. Now we just have to figure out what our next challenge is... Surely he would have more than one challenge, considering how powerful all of us are together He stepped through the hole Solarae made, complementing her with a pat on the back with his wing.

"See, you're not good enough, you're just like the rest" The elder elf said after he kicked Paconio back and against a wall. He walked up to the young elf, aimed his sword for his neck, and swung. The sword connected with Paconio's cloaked sword, witch he now uncloaked and continued the fight with.

He felt a slight drain in energy as one of the elder elf's wards broke. Paconio's sword now came about an inch closer to the elf every time, but was either deflected by the elf himself, or the wards.

OOC: What?!?!

EDIT: lol nice. I was thinking that was a little weird, with pretty much this look: . lol

btw, I agree. Solarae is so fun to write.

OOC:Sorry about that, I was letting my brother's friend get on the comp and he messed with it

OOC: Sera is a small dragon, not large at all, so I doubt Solarae could
get under her legs, but no real need to edit, just lettin ya know.

OOC: Solarae's only as tall as a person when she stands as tall as she can, so she can get under most things.

OOC: Great, now this is reminding me of The Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone. lol

IC: Solarae jumped on the arm of the massive beast, ripping and clawing at it with her talons and teeth. She scored great furrows on the beast's hide, but it's size made the wounds seem insignificant. Because it was flailing around, she could not get to its face and deal more severe damage. Gus joined her in the attack at the same time, both trying to kill the huge minotaur.

Solarae was still struggling towards the beast's face, when Sera charged it and bowled it over, knocking Solarae to the ground. She flipped in the air and landed on her feet, but frowned when Sera created a huge wall of ice and blocked them from the fight. Sera! We can defeat it more easily together! Solarae cried, just slightly annoyed from being out one fight, but more concerned about the blue dragon.

OOC: Lol, I guess Paconio forcing the others along the tunnel inspired this idea

IC:Gus stared in shock as Sera kept them away from the minotaur. Same situation, different person... Augustus said, noticing that Paconio had done pretty much the same thing. Well there's no point in trying to break this ice, it looks pretty solid Augustus said to Solarae, lightly clawing at the wall. It actually hurt his claw more than it hurt the wall to do it!

Well, it looks like we're not going to get through this ice even if our lives depended on it, Said Gus. And I know this may seem cruel, but I think we should move on... He added.

OOC: Lol

IC:
Sera bit into the minotaur's thick hide, but never got past the leathery skin. The powerful beast shoved her across the room and commensed to charge her with its large, and sharpened horns. Sera roared angrily and managed to hold off the sharp, goading horns. She breathed a powerful blast of ice and frozt the already wet floor in front of the minotaur, causing it to comically slip around.

Gus was almost relieved when Solarae melted a hole. The strange smell was still worrying him, but having a decent sized amount of a rock wall between them made Gus feel relaxed, just a little. He looked to Solarae after jumping through the hole, and asked, Should we just keep going in the same direction? He looked down either way, not noticing anything particular... He didn't know what the difference was, but he knew that mazes were very tricky...

OOC: Sorry, it's short!

OOC: Lol, OOO, Sera bout to either die a horrible death or win over a monster! Yay!

IC:
Sera fought back the minotaur, each time it charged, but her ice lung was weakening, and she could ot do this forever. The minotaur continued to come toward her and slash with its long sharp horns. It was beyond angry, totally uncaring about what happened to it, then it saw its chance. It backed up, and lowered its head. It charged! It hit Sera, driving her through five walls, and injuring her badly. They stopped next to the other two dragons, but only Sera was still alive, and only barely at that, she had managed to stabb him in the neck with her claws, killing it instantly.

OOC: YAY!!!

OOC: Pass, don't heal Sera just yet, she is gona have some perminant damage from this and I am thinking about taking her white and ice fire away, only thinking atm though.

OOC: Really? That's quite dramatic.

IC: Solarae watched Gus as he paced back and forth. You know what? Your rider knows how to heal people. I'll go get'em. You stay here and keep an eye on this one, she decided, jumping up and trotting off. I'll find Paconio in a couple minutes, just don't get eaten while I'm gone, she called back as she raced down the tunnel.

Solarace kept her eyes wide for any signs of unwelcome encounters, and kept her nostrils even wider for their scents. More important, though, was her need to catch Paconio's scent. The elf could be anywhere in the maze, but Solarae decided to start with the beginning, where they had left him. Then she would pick up his scent, locate him, and lead him to their friends.

OOC: Yea,pass until Paconio gets there to "save" Sera. hehe.

OOC: go ahead with your post, Draco, I will post once Sera is healed some.
