Family Ties
OOC: This rp will just be for Silver and I at the moment.
IC: Kalo stayed low, his long, muscular neck held almost parallel to the ground as he remained in his stance of submission to the King. Galbatorix had finally forgiven (or was no longer punishing him for) his transgressions in trying to retrieve the Eldunari of Leanbrara, especially since his most recent mission with the newcomers Sylverta and Lakris had been more successful. Gaining the King's trust again had not been easy, but he was finally being rewarded with another mission. It wasn't quite as simple as he had hoped for, however.
The pale bronze and icy-silver dragon gave a sidelong glance toward his kin. Next to him was a small, sleek, lightly-built dragoness, scales a pale icy-green. His younger sister Reechani was finally going on a mission of her own ("released upon the world," as she liked to put it), under the supervision of Kalo. He was more experienced as an assassin, and had some advantages over her, but he was no longer sure if he would remain the better asssassin for long. Reechani had been modified by Galbatorix himself to be a weapon, after all, and she knew it. However, she still needed training and guidance from Kalo, a responsibility he would never take lightly.
"You may rise now, Kalo and Reechani. Your services are most invaluable to me, you know. I would be most displeased if you were to somehow fail," Galbatorix concluded, a slow smile appearing for a short time on his face. Kalo lifted himself into a standing position and gave a nod. We will not disappoint you, he murmurred, turning his head to try and catch some of Reechani's thoughts on their mission. They were to head to the islands of the north, where there were rumors of an old dragon and rider pair hiding out amidst the forests of the interior of one of the islands. Kalo was a bit apprehensive about the mission, for it was in his old homeland, and he wasn't sure how he would feel about returning. But a mission was a mission, and he would make sure it was completed no matter what. The bronze shifted around and began pacing slowly out of Galbatorix's throne room, aware of the massive dragon eyeing him from behind. He no longer felt the unease he used to around Shruikan; he was too accustomed to him now.

Re: Family Ties
The young, pale-green dragoness struggled to keep her head low as Galbatorix spoke. Reechani could barely contain her excitement at what was about to happen, she had been so tired of training for so long. No matter how many times in the past she tried to convince the king that she was ready, he never consented to let her go on a real mission. 'I wont let you down', the pale-green's response was almost immediate, such was the extent of her enthusiasm.
Normally she would have been slightly annoyed with the situation, she had always wanted to take on her first mission alone to prove herself, but as long as it was Kalo she went with, she didn't really mind. Besides, if it was what Galbatorix thought was best, who was she to question it, after all, she was finally being unleashed upon the world. She rose slowly and her dark venom green eyes glinted in her excitement, she was ready to hunt and to kill in the name of her King, whoever this Dragon and Rider were, they stood no chance against her, especially when her brother flew with her.
She turned her head as she caught movement out of the corner of her eye and made eye contact with the pale bronze, his gaze looked thoughtful, but she paid it no mind further than that. Her thoughts were consumed with fantastic images of how she would take down the Dragon she was being sent after, imagining every possible way it could be done as she slowly followed Kalo out of the throne room. She reached out and nudged his mind gently before speaking to him only, 'How long do you think it will be before we find them?' Though she tried, she was unable to keep her true feelings out of her voice, and she knew that her brother would pick up on it. She was excited and eager to prove herself, but she was nervous as well, it was her first mission and she did not want to displease Galbatorix.

Re: Family Ties
Kalo led the way from the throne room, taking one of the side passages that would lead them away from Uru'baen and under the huge cliff near it, eventually exiting in a secret tunnel farther from the city. It was one frequently used by the King's dragons so that the civilians would remain unaware of their existence. He felt his sister's mental probe and glanced back. His tailtip twitched in carefully guarded amusement as he saw excitement on her features yet again, and twitched a second time at her tone when she spoke. Reechani, always the confident, controlled soldier, was finally showing some excitement and even... yes, it was slight anxiety. Of course she would want to perform well on her first mission. She had been altered and honed into what Galbatorix believed to be a perfect killing machine, but there was always room for error even in the King's work.
It depends on how easy they are to track. There are many islands to the north, and many contain an abundance of hiding places where they may be ensconced. Luckily, we have training and my limited knowledge of the area to guide us, he responded, his voice low and calm. He was also eager to see how his sister would perform--proud of the fact that she was actually being sent on a mission--but he was much better at guarding his emotions than her. If she deserved praise he would give it, but no amiability until then. They had a job to do.
After several minutes of walking through total darkness, directed only by Kalo's memory of the exact route to take in the tunnels, they emerged from the hidden and magically-guarded exit of the tunnel, situated directly over a cliff face. Only a flying creature could use this passageway. Kalo leaned out over the sheer rock, getting enough room to unfurl his pale bronze and silver-clouded wings, and with a powerful downthrust and a kick of his well-muscled hind limbs, he surged into the air and rose rapidly into the sky with a series of quick power strokes. They wouldn't travel very quickly to the islands, for neither dragon was suited to long distance travel, but it wouldn't matter. The bronze doubted their quarry would relocate any time soon. After reaching cloud level he paused to circle, allowing his sister to catch up.
