Karma for Beginners
I found this one under my desk in math, it's not even truly finished, there's this little box in the front cover that says that it's not done being edited and all that fun stuff, and on the back there's the marketing strategy lol... I'll post a pic of it latter maybe...

We read this book called Killer Angels by some guy. It was a horrendously dry and boring book about the Civil War.

Re: Worst book you've ever read?
So one of the worst books I've ever read is the last of a series called Gregor The Overlander by Suzanne Collins. It was an awesome series until the last few pages of the last book. It completly ruined everything for me. CRAPPY ENDING. I literaly threw the book out the window.

Re: Worst book you've ever read?
The worst book I have possibly ever read (and there are many books that I read so it's a toughy, ) would probably be the book I had to read for English; Slaughterhouse Five. I mean, sure the writing style was good, but the way the story went was just terrible! It kept jumping around everywhere and it had no end really! This guy is "time traveling" but only during the course of his life. He gets captured by aliens and the aliens tell him that the only beings to really think there is such thing as free will would be the humans. All in all, I would definately not recommend someone to read that book.
I like the Cirque du Freak series, but the last book really stunk! It should not have ended like that!

some stupid goosebump book about an evil snowman, who in the end turned out to be the good guys. it was weird, stupid, and very badly written with a ton of grammar mistakes.
@dragongirl: was it called maniac magee or something like that? I think I read that book in fifth grade lol.

Red: Maybe it was an eggplant car or something? Or was that something else entirely? My memory escapes me right now, lol.
Another book I didn't enjoy was Inkheart. I couldn't even bear to finish that. Turns out I didn't even make it to the point where the conflict kicked in.

Re: Worst book you've ever read?
I loved Inkspell the book, and the movie changes EVERYTHING so I suppose if you see the movie first you may like it more. And they have to have a last name. RESA IS MY FAVORITE CHARRY, mostly because she doesn't talk =P.
Wasn't Maniac Magee written by like a newberry author?
I usually do my research on a book before I buy it, so I don't really hate many books I read. Im trying to remember one I heard was absolutely TERRIBLE.

I can't believe I used to like those books. Now everyone but Butler (rezident badass) and the horse annoys me. The series went downhill after the blue book. Those owl books are high on my list... corny and average storytelling. Gahoolee or something? (which I think they're making a movie of more proof that hollywood has been dead since 1988) Oh, I've got one. Scorpion (?) by Nancy Farmer. Incoherent and silly.

Alex: Sorry
Haha, the only character I remember was Holly the Elf and Artemis ... Are you talking about Guardians of Ga'Hoole? Rima has like the whole series! Granted, she was like 10 when she read them.
House of the Scorpion? That was also bad. It's kind of fuzzy in my memory, though XD

Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony.
Artemis Fowl (the first book) was an amazing read, The Artic Incident was ok, The Eternity Code was passable, The Opal Deception barely kept my attention (I read it simply because I read the others and wanted to keep up to date with the series), The Lost Colony was so bad that I swore that I would never read another book by Eoin Colfer again.
A friend of mine who read The Time Paradox claimed that there were hints that Artemis would hook up with Holly... sorry that is so perverted and it basically clinches the deal. That book is a definite no.

Re: Worst book you've ever read?
I was just reminded of another utterly horrible book. The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay. It was about some kid in South Africa who grew up to be a boxer and it was about his life story and all. I couldn't really understand most of the historical aspects because I'm not much learned in African history. Plus it was dry and boring and really had no kind of plot.

Re: Worst book you've ever read?
All those damn horror stories by R.L Stine (Goosebumps, Point Horror etc.)
They're not in the slightest bit scary, and before you say anything, I know they're kids books, but even when I was really young I found them predictable, bland and with all the atmosphere of a plate of boiled cabbage.
I know he's succesful, but he should just stop and do the horror industry a favour.

Any book where you choose your own turn of events.
If you would like to put the robot back together, turn to page 14. If you would like to water flowers in the greenhouse, turn to page 87. If you would like to loop a noose around your neck, please read on.

Re: Worst book you've ever read?
The first three Artemis Fowl books were really funny. However, as soon as he turned nice, I absolutely despised them. Ugh. Way cooler when he was evil, 'cause at least there were some funny parts.
I have the whole Guardians of Ga'hoole series. lol I started when I was younger so I had to finish the series, even though it's not especially great. It's okay, somewhat entertaining. Mainly I like the last book, 'cause I like how everything was resolved. lol
One thing I really hate though is any book that is anticlimatic. Anything that builds up and then kinda just trails off... I hate that! Like Max, the most recent Maximum Ride book, was pretty good up until the ending, which was extremely anticlimatic.
I think it's funny how so many choose-your-own-adventure books have such gruesome deaths, and yet they're for kids. "You fall towards the boiling vatt of acid" THE END. lol

Re: Worst book you've ever read?
*Blinks* Um...I liked Inkheart. Granted, I mostly read it because I'm obsessed with Dustfinger, but still. Although I stopped reading once he came back to life or whatever happened *I don't recall exactly* so that might say something about the series outside of the one character. ^_^
Hm...well...worst book I ever read? Let's see...Ah! Yes! Blue Moon or Evermore, whichever came first. It was in this series, I don't even remember what it was called, but I think the author was Alison Noel? It was terrible, utterly terrible. I read the first book, or the first few chapters anyway, and was very disappointed. The girls were all Mary Sues, the boys were Gary Stus. It was disgusting. Preppy highschool kids walking about and drooling over each other, angsting over problems that were just, well, stupid. The plot was very cliche, as well. I think it was a failed attempt to rip off some other series.

Re: Worst book you've ever read?
Ahhh, gomen...there should be a 'like' button...
I just read "Sword of Truth" book one, and it was pretty bad in some areas, but pretty good in others. The only really lame thing about it was that the author wouldn't shut up about what colour eyes the characters have. I swear, every single time Kahlan was mentioned, he said 'her green eyes' this, 'her green eyes' that...so annoying.
But The Beyonders is the most annoying book I've read recently. I love my librarian, but she gives lame suggestions sometimes (Twilight, Beyonders....that sort of thing). Basically this book is full of cliches. And a thirteen year old with a love interest, which I find disgusting. And it's the whole 'ooh, modern-day kid gets warped into medieval world and is the only one who can save the poor, helpless, blithering adults by defeating someone who's more than twice his age because he's SO awesome' plotline. Urg.

Re: Worst book you've ever read?
Urg. I read a book called "The Name of the Star" which wasn't my usual genre, but I gave it a chance, and although I really hated the main character it still held my attention. It was funny, rather a lot so, and it had what seemed to be a pretty cool plot. And then I get to the part where they get to their total unobtanium "One weapon that can defeat teh bad guuuuuy" thing, where basically all they say about it is "It does something! We don't know what! But it works! Even though we don't know how/why or anything! Just use it because it's so awesummmm!" and I got annoyed by that, and then as it got up to the last few chapters it just got dumber and dumber until I finally reached the end and promptly threw it in a box with a yell of "The ending was stupid and didn't make sense!"
