If anyone has listened to the Brisingr audiobook, there is an interview of the writer in the last chapter
when he is asked to reveal the name, he says that it has to do with the name of the series Inheritance
he says that if the readers think real hard they might find out the title
then to help th readers find the name he asks the question
What does Eragon inherit?
Murtagh in Eldest inherits Zar'roc, Thorn , the right to be a dragon rider
but what does Eragon inherit in book 4?
This could be the clue to find the title

I think that the title could be "Legacy". This is related to Inheritance and Eragon inherits the legacy of the riders.

I don' think CP would name the book with a word that means the same thing with the cycle's name
besides, in the interview, CP gave me the impression that the book's name would be more specific

if the title does have somethin to do with eragons inheritance wouldn't it be called something like aren (Broms ring) or maybe something about the belt of beloth the wise.

but if i were to go off of what you say it would probally be broms sword, i forgot it's name but rhueon mentions it but says that it was lost. maby he doesnt even inheirt it from family, maby something from a rider or eragon I

Maybe he'll inherit Alagaesia from Galbatorix which maybe a relative of him of some sort.

This is a really hard question and I'm not a really good thinker unless i try really hard, Eragon inherits the legacy of the Riders, he inherits his fathers name, could that be it, BROMSSON but that sounds a bit weird, but I still think it's LEGACY

Hey I know what the fourth book is called, my friend is cousin's with CP. The fourth book is named after the first part of Eragorn's True name.

edit: He gains the inherited knowledge of his ancestors from the vault of souls where he says his true name (which the funny character Eragon meets in the tower near the heart of the empire, tell eragon...his true name)

I'd like to think that the book's title will perhaps be a play on the word independence, related to the growth of Eragon's character throughout the books, and reminding the reader that although there is much that he has inherited, he has done much on his own, without the help of others, and really grown to become his own person.

I still think that the book will be saphira. I mean, think about it. What was Eragons bigest/most important inheritance? Saphira and his bond with her. Also, the name saphira was inherted from his father's dragon.

Although he also inherited the title of dragon rider, so maybe that could be the name of the next book.

@Oromis-Elda: LOL take a look at that picture and compare it to the cover of Brisngr. Notice anything? they're exactly the same cover only one's tinted green and has a new title slapped on it.

here is something to think about. an author doesn't work on a title until his/she is nearly done with the book, sooooo it leads on to believe that he's probably pretty close to finishing it if he's already trying to figure a title for the book

That's a good idea. Maybe it could be Reserection? I've heard a lot of rumors that a character might come back but those are just rumors. It does seem slightly likely, though.

Wasn't it said by someone that originally CP meant all three books to start with "e", althought now when brisingr came it broke the chain. What if he still wants to stick with his original e-theme for the fourth book and that combined to the thing that eragon will inherit something, wouldn't it be appropiate name the next book Ebrithil?? Since Oromis and Glaedr taught E & S everything they could, and now that they are dead, won't eragon inherit the position of a master aka ebrithil, because its their resbonsability to teach those things to the next dragon & rider.

Alelea? Wow I didn't know that. I read in someplace that the name will be Empire, but i don't know why and don't see sense in this.

i think eragon is inheriting the legacy of the dragon riders, and is going to rebuild them, that is his inheritance
