Post GT part 1: Correcting the Past
OOC: First off, I would like to say that this topic is restricted to a certain number of people...myself, and two or three others who want to join. The first people to post get the spots in other words. No evil characters allowed, as I will be controlling the bad guys (until a certain point), and, I would like for those who join (if any even do) to only bring one character in until I say they can bring in more.

Secondly, I don't really expect anyone to join (though I would like it if you did) but if you do please stay active. I hate it when any topic I am in dies, so please try to post at least every two days.

Lastly, this topic is not about what is or will be, or even about what has happened. It is about what could be, so if some things don't fit in with other events, then it is because in the story time itself has been changed.

Enjoy! If anyone even joins...

IC:
An elf-like creature strode among the towering trees, with a confidence that masked his true feelings. Every muscle was tense, every nerve on edge, and every limb ready to spring into action at a moments notice. Many thoughts crossed the beings mind, and many emotions boiled within him, the top two being anger and annoyance. He hated this form with a passion; mainly because elves disgusted him, but also because he had been one...once. The being quickly brushed these thoughts from his mind and and returned his focus to the task at hand. He transferred a glowing red gem from one hand to the other and looked around for a place where his target was sure to find it.The rest would be up to the dragon. A feral smile spread across his features as he thought about the results that this little venture would most assuredly bring about. The creature, however, quickly wiped away the smile from his face. This was not a time for thinking about what would happen; this was the time to make it happen. In perfect timing with his thoughts he spotted what he was looking for. Walking over, he laid the amulet in a place where only the person he wanted to find it would find it. The being took a step back, grinned, and-with a flash of light-disappeared.

Wizard Radwerth awoke from his...rather extended nap with a start and looked around the room with a suspicious and shifty gaze. Something had changed. For better or for worse, he did not know, but he knew for a fact that something had changed; maybe even time itself. The old wizard rose cautiously and ran possibilities through his mind as he searched his "lair" for any changes. Someone might have damaged the interior of the earth causing a major flaw in the balance of time, thereby resulting in massive recurring waves that would destroy cities and villages along the coast. This would have triggered his "danger alert" spells which would explain his sudden awakening. Or, an evil warlord could have used magic to mess with an intricate time line in order to achieve ultimate goal of world domination. Another possibility was rabbits, one of the greatest causes of the world's problems. Despite all of these crazy ideas floating around in Radwerth's head, however, he had a pretty good idea of what had occurred. Someone had probably gone back in time and changed something resulting in this feeling of impending doom that now possessed him. It had happened before and it could happen again, and if it had, it would once again be his duty to correct it. A deafening roar interrupted the old man's train of thought, and caused Radwerth to jump slightly. Using magic, he looked through the walls of his home and spotted a gigantic red dragon-which was somehow glowing-coming strait toward his forest. That was a problem. A dragon that size could crush his entire lair and all of its contents including himself. Radwerth enhanced his spell and gazed out over the empire. Something had definitely changed. Line upon line of battered, bleeding slaves were stumbling over the burnt land that was devoid of any kind of vegetation. Billows of smoke choked the dark sky, and large gray clouds dimmed the sun allowing it to give of just enough light to make ones surroundings visible. Charred remains that had once been villages sprinkled the land, and thousands of shades stalked it, desecrating and poisoning the land to make it useless. "It looks like things do change over night!" though Wizard Radwerth as he released the magic and switched his gaze back to the large red dragon who was drawing closer every second. It was time to go. The responsibility of saving the world would once again fall on the shoulders of the crazy old wizard and two people whom he chose to join him, or who joined him of their own accord. Of course, seeing how things were working out at the moment, he would have to go back in time to get them. Radwerth nodded to himself, silently deciding that it would be best to go about 100 years into the past and then transport himself to a bar/inn located in some big city; after all, that was where one usually found warriors. With that in mind the wizard muttered something in the ancient language, and vanished with a flash of light.

Radwerth was sitting on the smallest chair at the smallest table, in the smallest corner, of the smallest town, in the smallest neighborhood, of the smallest town in all of Alagaisia. Or so he thought. In reality, he was in Gilead's biggest bar...although he was in fact in the corner. After two days of trial and error, he had reached the correct time to find the ones he needed. The old man had then spent a further three days searching for them, all to no avail. He had been about to leave when he had spotted this inn, and immediately knew that he would find travelers there. Radwerth had been right. He spotted the people he needed, and had been purposefully examining them indiscreetly with the simple hope that they would notice, take offense, and come over to him. The wizard knew he had succeeded, for he saw two of them returning his stares, and heard someone coming up beside him.
