Niriz
Name: - Niriz
Age:- 22 years old.
Gender: - Female
Skills: Veyron: Niriz can increase her speed amazingly. She doesn’t know how she does it, but she’s always been faster than the other Nephilim children both when flying and running. All that she knows about this is that she is capable of running great distances at an just short of imperceptible speed.
Remede: Niriz’s family comes from a bloodline that is capable of healing through simple touch, without magic and without tiring her out. She is only capable of using this ability around three times a day, depending on the amount of healing she is doing. She prefers that only the Nephilim and Elves know of this ability, however she believes that she will use it if it is necessary, even in front of an enemy. She only has to will that the person be healed in order to use it.
Angelic Powers: Because Niriz is half-angel she has the ability to use both the Ancient Language and the Language of the Angels to cast magic. Her angelic magic is similar to the Ancient Language, however it does not have to be spoken, nor does it have to do specifically with items. It calls on endless heavenly power to fight and heal most wounds completely. It is physically taxing on Niriz to use her angelic powers due to her being only half angel, however she has gained considerable strength through training and practice with the skill.
Rites: The Angelic Magic is related strongly to Nephilim’s use of Rites, which are small slips of paper made by Nephilim that will do what they want. These papers are in sections of “Attacks” (Red Slips), “Barriers”(Blue Slips), “Healing”(Yellow Slips), and “Ordinary”(Ranging from Green to Brown to Purple Slips). Attack Rites are fast-acting and take little preparation to use. Barriers require more skill and also a larger amount of preparation, both mental and physical. Healing Rites often only take mental preparation to instill, however few do require a small physical offering. The Ordinary Rites are separated into smaller groups, which are higher in number than the four main categories and often only require small physical preparations that often include rune circles, inscriptions and recitations.
Niriz has trained extensively with the use of Rites. She is capable of using smaller physical tokens in order to achieve the results of the specific Rites. She is especially proficient with Attack Rites and Healing Rites, though she does love to use Ordinary Rites often.
Fendre: Niriz’s favorite angelic magic, this is where she uses her feathers to attack others. Many enemies do not expect feathers to do damage, and because Nephilim naturally lose older feathers, it is natural for an enemy to think that she is simply dropping feathers. Though she can usually tell when she is able to use the skill, there are times when her feathers are all new or not yet old enough to drop, thus the skill is unable to be used. This skill is used by her feathers naturally falling and being influenced by her magic to ensue with an effect. Such as burning, steeling (for cutting/slicing), freezing. She can make these feathers do just about anything through this skill.
Pieox: This is an angel technique that Niriz found while searching through the tomes of the Nephilim’s and Angel’s existence. She found this in a tome that was written by an ancient Angel scholar whom notorized the book on purifying arts. She believes that with enough practice she may be able to help purify her brother and save him.
Race: - Nephilim; Half-Angel and Half-Human (Nephilim, like elves, have immortality because of the angelic properties in their blood, thus appear to stop aging after thirty-ish.)
Hair: - Golden blonde, with small streaks of very light brown.
Eyes: - Green, almost emerald, but slightly lighter.
Home Village: - Ellesmera
Parents: - Father, Aton. Mother, Siina. (Both alive.)
Siblings: - Aescix, 24. Sxonus, 19.
Character Personality: Niriz is a beautiful and kind young woman. She finds compassion at her fingertips, but can still be a fiery person when angry. She has passion that far surpasses many people’s. She rarely ever backs down, having grown up with two brothers, she was taught to survive and fight her way out of things. She is as graceful as she is strong and will never hesitate to be a positive example for others. She feels that a person’s out ward image and their own perspective on themselves is a key to success in the world. Niriz is entirely interested in helping anyone she can, however she is often cautious due to her brother, Aescix’s, downfall. Although her brother disliked Caete greatly, she does not. She is rather close to him, as all Nephilim children are, even if they are not the same age. She is deeply involved in the politics of Du Weldenvarden and will often go on errands to the Varden or to Surda, and she loves going on those trips. She feels like she is helping everyone that she can by making an effort to progress the resistance against Galbatorix. Niriz hates being lied to, in fact she would much rather someone be blunt about a situation, rather than flower everything up to make it seem alright. She is a strong woman and has a very significant influence on people in a light and good way because of her actions. Because she wants to help people she wishes to travel Alagaesia to help heal the people and help them in any way she can.
Character History: Niriz is the middle child of three children and upon her birth she immediately connected with her older brother Aescix. She found that he was everything an older brother was supposed to be; protective, caring, loving. However she grew up watching as he became filled with this vile jealousy that infected his every pore. She grew to realize that this jealousy was inflicted upon their childhood friend Caete, whom was their junior. He grew into his father’s shoes, naturally filling the role of a leader in the Nephilim society, and Niriz watched as her beloved brother fell farther and farther in a despicable self-destruction. Niriz was actually naturally friends with Caete, having played with him while they grew up. She found that he really was very modest and undeserving of her brothers jealousy. When Aescix was twenty-two she saw him break. He had corrupted himself so far that he was cursed. He was banished later and she immediately began research on what had happened. Aescix’s break had taken place one year after Caete’s father’s death occurred, which allowed Niriz to use the ancient tomes and scrolls that he had brought from the Old Lands. She searched relentlessly, compiling her own section on information that would help counteract any form of corruption. On the day of her twenty second birthday she found a tome that she could have never dreamed of finding. The tome was written by an Angel by the name of Taharial, whom wrote specifically on the arts of healing and purifying. She had found some of his previous scrolls to be of use and had noted his name in her own compendium, however this Tome was specifically about the Art of Purification. She read through the tome, night and day, for four days straight, not eating or sleeping. When she finished she announced to the Queen, the Elven Council, and the Nephilim Council her findings and what she believed could be the proceedings. She believed that she could create a sequence of runes from both the Angelic and Ancient language to create a Purifying Rite. She explained that this Rite would be different from every other Rite created due to boundaries in the magics used, however Taharial’s writings suggested that a hybrid recitation and inscription of some kind may work. She went into detail on Aescix’s downfall, reciting the pain and torture that he mentally inflicted on himself, and later explained that she believed that the Purifying Rite may cleanse the soul, which she had believed was tainted. The Queen and Councils gave her approval to create a Rite that would cleanse the soul. She worked for thirty seven days until she found a correct sequence in the hybrid Rite, only after creating her own Rune that signified “Purify”. She was then allowed to test the initial Rite, after making several copies. Caete believed that she had succeeded and offered to the Queen an idea as to the test. The elves did not believe in killing needlessly and thus had not killed the Elf whom had attempted to murder the Queen. The Elf was brought out in shackles and was attached to strong tree to prevent him from escaping. Niriz drew out a rune circle around the tree, first a smaller circle, then a larger ring around that, leaving a hands worth of space between the two. She began inscribing the Angelic language and Ancient language carefully into the space, adding four specified healing Runes in the key directions of North, South, West and East. She drew lines from the runes all meeting to a small circle in the middle, near the prisoner, that encircled the Rite Paper. When her Circle was done she got to her knees and made a small incision on her finger with her dagger and drew the Purify Rune onto the paper while reciting the hybrid spell. The Runes began to glow and a faint golden-white light began to filter into the air. She held her eyes to the paper, focusing intently for fear of messing up the Ritual. Soon after the glow began to travel toward the prisoner, and pressed against his torso until the light seemed to push into him. He became still, and slack as he collapsed. Light gently showed through his eyes, nose, mouth anything that was open filtered out light. Eventually the Rune Circle dimmed and returned to normal along with the Elf’s body. Niriz watched for a while longer as the Elf remained motionless, seemingly dead. She felt a sob tear through her throat and collapsed as the stress of years of work failed. Suddenly her younger brother, Sxonus, was next to her, holding her shoulders and quickly speaking, “Niriz, Niriz, look.” She looked as tears fanned down her cheeks, and saw as the Elf’s stomach began to heave, his chest pushing in and out rapidly. She watched, wide-eyed as the Elf threw up a black, thick substance and continued to breathe hard. She watched as the Elf gained his composure, and looked up at her, trying to pull the shackles forward, without much success. His voice rasped out amongst the small crowd, “You saved me.” He soon collapsed from exhaustion and was carried to the Queens personal doctors to be assessed and looked over. Niriz has since then prepared to leave Du Weldenvarden to start a search for her brother. As well as her, several others have gone out to search for him and capture him or purify him. Her own younger brother is preparing to leave soon as well, however wishes to remain for a while longer in order to handle affairs in the politics of Du Weldenvarden’s affairs. Niriz is now setting off on her mission to save her brother.
Weapons: Wane and Wax: Niriz’s two arm swords that attach at the bicep with a grip perfectly matched to the length of her arm. These swords are elegant and scribed with the Angelic and Ancient language along the blades. They were created by the same master smiths that created Aescix’s scythe, Reaper.
She also carries a small dagger for normal work.
Likes: - Animals, being helpful, being sociable, seeing friends and family.
Dislikes: - Galbatorix, unnecessary hate, unnecessary violence or killing.
Weakness / Fear: - She fears that she may never be able to help her brother Aescix return to normal.
Animal Companions: - It is natural for every Nephilim child to have a bond with an animal. However when Niriz was born, her bond never appeared. She also never felt the small bond form. Thus she is searching for her companion along with her other aspirations.
Character's Physical Description: Niriz is tall, as most Nephilim are, standing at around five feet seven inches, however she rarely ever finds that she is taller than most male elves. She is lean, but strong for her size. She has more muscle mass than people believe, but this is often obvious when people notice her choice of weaponry. She has golden hair that changes depending on how much she is in the sun. Her skin is a perpetual paleness that will only slightly tan and will not burn. Niriz’s wings are a beautiful white with tints of gray and gold. Her wings are around taller than she is individually, both sitting at around five foot eight inches.
Dreams for the Future: - To help redeem her brother and return him to his kind and loving self.
Reason for Dreams: - She believes that he is simply clouded by some disturbing, vile curse, made upon him by some demon.
Alignment/side: - She is aligned with the Elves and against Galbatorix no matter what.
Dragonette Name: - Slyth
Age: - Around 3 months (ages through RP's).
Gender:- Female
Parents:- Unknown (OOC: To me at least, Saph knows.)
Siblings:- Known, Fin (3 years), Vix (3 years), and Ford (Almost one).
Skills:- Air- Slyth's element is the air. She can control wind currents, breezes, and can even create wind based attacks such as whirlwinds or small hurricanes, as long as theres water nearby for the hurricanes. She will often create whirlwinds and send them flying at her enemies so that she can knock them down or away, then go in to tear at them with her claws. The whirlwinds create small bursts of energy so when the run into the target they are propelled backword with force.
Whirl Attack- Slyth will fly up the air so that she can dive down and spin in the air, creating a whirlwind or hurricane around her. She will then run into her target, hitting them with an incredible amount of force, enough to knock a fully grown male human or elf at least ten feet into the air. The stronger force is generated through her speed and also the combination of her whirlwinds.
History:- When Slyth hatched she was scooped up by Niriz and almost immediately in danger. A cruel woman by the name of Astridell had attacked the group that Niriz was currently with. After that threat was taken care of, the group parted ways, with Niriz and Caete, another Nephilim, she made her way to Du Weldenvarden, where Niriz settled in to begin the process of raising Slyth and teaching her how to fly or control her element. Over time, Slyth would learn to control her powers by watching her bondmate fly, and by watching her use of magic or rites to control some of the other elements. Presently Slyth is preparing to go on several adventures.
Personality: Slyth is an inquisitive youth. She views everything in her life with a curiosity that could only be granted with youth. She finds a lot of joy in making her older brother, Fin, play with her. Although she immensly enjoys Vix's presence, she finds it much more humorous to bother Fin. Besides it lightens his moods when he plays with her, even though he can be rough sometimes. Slyth adores Niriz, which is understandable because she hatched because she was immediately bonded to her. She can be extremely protective of Niriz, even though at this point in her life, she'd serve to be little more than an annoyance to anything larger than a human. At the same time, Slyth is incredibly mischeivous, as most young children are. She finds that playing pranks on her siblings, or Liam is an extremely fun way of passing time.
Colour: - Slyth is a beautiful mid to light blue color with flecks of green adorning her.
Appearance: Slyth is only a few months old, so she is barely longer than half a foot. Her wingspan is just a little under a foot long, and her wings themselves are somewhat thin, built for aerial movement. Her talons, teeth and spines are all a grayish white color, and blend well with her scales.
Armour: (if any) – Currently she doesn't have any armor fashioned, however Niriz is looking into having something made for her.
Dreams for future: - Slyth dreams that she will one day be able to protect Niriz, and that she will not be looked at as weak for her size.
Reasons for dreams: - Niriz has cared for Slyth without fail, always protecting and loving her.
Weakness / Fear: - Slyth hasn't gotten to experience anything to fear as of yet, besides maybe some of the creatures in Du Weldenvarden. Some of those are weird.
