Skills: She is excellent with the sword, and few can match her skill. She learned from the time she could hold a stick. In time her skill grew so great that only the greatest Sword masters would challenge her. One reason she is so good is because whatever pride she had was destroyed when she got defeated 8 times in a row. She is also very good at barricading her mind, and never opens it for anyone.

Character Personality: Freda Ortheina was always known as someone who never showed any feelings, some even doubted whether she had any... Freda never used to let feelings show, because to her it meant weakness. For a long time she never knew joy, or sorrow because she was hard. But later it was all replaced with joy first, and sorrow after. She always appears calm and serene, except when grief overwhelms her, and she rarely displays emotion even after learning how to have joy. She never underestimates anybody, but always assumes that they are better than her in every area. She isn't very talkative--she prefers to listen and learn--but she isn't shy either. She is sensitive to how people or animals are feeling, but she never shows it. She is always careful around those she doesn't know, in case they turn out to be enemies. the first thing she tends to think of when meeting someone, is how she can use them to her advantage! She rarely misjudges peoples motives, and she always acts on them. She can be indecisive at times, and arrogant at others. If someone said left was the way to go she would usually go right. When she smiles one of her rare smiles she can make others do it too, and when she is angry... Those around tend to drift away for their own safety. She prefers to be around talkative people so she can learn more--to their disadvantage sometimes--after all knowing how high a price you haave on your head is worth knowing!

Character History: Lord Maered and Lady Verdona rode as hard as they could with their few trustworthy servants. So much for being favorites of the King. Exiled, threatened with death if they ever stepped foot inside Uru'baen again, yet ordered to send their first child back after he/she reached 15 years of age. Lady Vardona was heavily pregnant, with only a few days before her child was born, and now she fled for all she was worth. Two days out the servants pitched a tent as the Lady Verdona went into labor. 13 hours later she breathed her last whiles half naming her child, while her husband gave her, her one other name. "Freda" Lady Verdona whispered, and Lord Maered said "Freda Ortheina." Lady Verdona smiled, closed her eyes and died. Lord Maered was heart broken,he had loved her faithfully for many years, even before she had concieved. The next ten years he trained his daughter in all that he could, the sword, horse back riding, to guard her mind, true world history, reading,writing, the Ancient Language. and by ten years of age few could match her skill. On her 15th Birthday she and her father rode toward Uru'baen, but he died on the way. As he died he handed her his sword, and toward her to always battle for the right. She stayed in Uru'baen for a year as a palace guard, and then left. As she wandered she met a man named Jaryd who desired to travel to Uru'baen so she brought him, and allowed him to stay at her small home, while she guarded. over time they came to love one another, and she found true joy that she had never known. They went to a small village and married, and it was there she changed her allegiance. Jaryd was a Varden spy, and because of their love she helped him spy until her 17th birthday when one of Galbatorix's soldiers killed him. She took his Warhorse and fled as far as she could. Away from Uru'baen, away from comfort. Sorrow was all she knew, sorrow and hate. Now her child would grow up fatherless, and she could do nothing about it, except fight.

Weapons: A long thin, slightly curved at the end sword, and a belt knife are her only weapons. The belt knife is a plain blade, with leather around the hilt. Her sword has a deer engraved on the side, but other than that it is a plain looking sword.

Likes: - Freda loves the feel of having her father's sword in her hand, it gives her a weapon to fight Galbatorix, and other evils with. On the other hand...

Dislikes: - Freda hates her sword, and the death it brings. But she will not lay it aside until Galbatorix is dead.

Animal Companions: - A bay Warhorse mare named Mariel, who could speak with her mind if someone would listen...

Character's Physical Description: Freda Ortheina stands only 5ft 2, and dislikes it! Her golden hair usually hangs down her back in a long braid, or on top her head in a bun. No scars decorate Freda, showing how careful she is, and the number of time magic users have healed her. Her hazel eyes seem to be fires that can consume someone in a single instant. The only other abnormal thing about her is the limp she walks with. She was injured in her right knee during a fight, and it never healed properly, not even with magic! She is also Ambidextrous.

Dreams for the Future: - To see Galbatorix destroyed completely so her child(ren) can grow up under a just rule.

Reason for Dreams: - Because her husband was killed by followers of Galbatorix, and because he exiled Freda's parents.

Alignment/side: - Varden

Extra: - Freda Ortheina is pregnant (with twins even though she doesn't know it) and will do anything to protect her unborn child(ren), but that is one of the only things she lives for. Her favorite quote to say is: "Why live when death is sweeter? And why fight for gain?"
