I don't know if the Green Dragon's rider will be on our side but if it's on Galby's side who will forge his/hers sword??? I highly doubt that Rhunnon would help an enemy. Would they capture her like they did Arya and torture her???

I'm pretty sure that the green dragon's rider will not be on Galby's side. That would outnumber Eragon and Saphira and that would make the story too complicated. CP would have to come up with something big to fix it. And if that did happen, I don't think Galby would waste time hunting Rhunon down. He would just give the new rider a regular, enchanted sword, and forget about a rider's.

If the green dragon does hatch it will not be big enough for a full-scale war in time for it to be used by either side also I am fairly sure that this topic has been created and discussed in multiple other places next time post there instead of making a new topic.

If Galbatorix has a new rider under him, the green rider can have any sword he wants. Though I do doubt that the rider will hatch for Galbatorix.

the only rider swords galby has acess to are the forsworns sword(including zar'roc). and he couldnt get rhourn to make him one besides HE doesnt have any starmetal(or whatever its called). so all he has acsess to are human swords or the forsworns swords.

@ ac: Seems to me like this topic is more about what sword they'll use. And the other green rider topics are about who the rider will be. So I vote we leave the modding to the mods. (Which includes myself keeping to myself, I know.)

Unless it hatches for an elf. Their regular swords are eternally sharp, like Rider's swords. I think the brightsteel, coloring, and stronger enchantments, were the main things that set the Riders' swords apart. Even if it hatches for a human they can just get a regular elven sword for the rider to use.

I think CP has already given use the sword i mean surely its no coincidence that Zar'oc was red and Thorn was also red thus Tamelein was Green and we know the next egg is Green

I think it will be Eragon training it somewhat and the Elven spellcasters also helping

Well, Eragon can't train the Rider in that kind of swordsmanship, if they use Tamerlain.

Yes valid point but im sure all of the Elves and all members of the Varden will be helping Eragon train he/she/human/elf

one reason eraon did not take tamelein was that it was meant for cuting not the more elegant style brom taught him so if the rider does use tamerlein eragon wouldnt be able to train him/her do to fighting style

Or Rhunon could do with the new rider what she did with Eragon to make Brisingr. (Use her mind to move his body.) But that would mean the new Rider would have to be an elf, because humans can't move fast enough, nor are they strong enough, to forge a Rider's sword.

Because if he was, being a Rider was kind of a common trait to be passed down. Morzan - Murtagh. Brom - Eragon. I believe Oromis said it was more likely than not.

Nah, he was just the king, but if you remember, Arya said that if she didn't want to become the next queen, the elves would find a suitable replacement heir. I think they would do the same if she were to become a Rider. And I don't think she would use Tamerlein. The description of her sword in Eragon, was slim and lightweight. Basically Tamerlein's opposite.

Anyway, I think Rhunon is really impressed by the way Eragon's sword turned out (and she already thinks it's because she used him to make it), so she'll probably do that with Arya (or whoever) to make the sword turn out as powerful as it can possibly be. 'Cause you know it's gonna have to be one beast of a sword to take on Murtagh and Thorn, not to mention Galby and Shruikan.

I dunno though... I think CP is going to make Arya the next Rider. And I just noticed something about the Inheritance theme.

Things Eragon and Brom have in common: blue swords, blue female dragons named Saphira, personalities, and Oromis and Glaedr as teachers.

Things Murtagh and Morzan have in common: same sword, red dragons, and Galbatorix as teacher. Differences: Morzan was also taught by Oromis and Glaedr, but Murtagh was not.

I wonder if that's significant, or just coincidence? (I really do lean toward coincidence.)

Well it's possible however Murtagh probably knows things that Eragon dosen't know as he claims when speaking to Eragon that Galby has discovered new words in the ancient language and made spells so powerful the elves dare not utter them.

Well, like y'all said, he has all of those Eldunari at his disposal. I'm sure that some of them knew words in the ancient language that the elves didn't. (Wild dragons were wild for a reason, why would they share their knowledge with elves?)

And as for how they would know, dragons are "tied" to the land. The words they knew could have been instinctual, or they figured them out.

not to change the subject but can you reuse an eldunari or can you only use all the energy once.

Lol, I'm not sure about that myself IE96. Oromis/Glaedr said that after a dragon's body died, their Eldunari continued to make and store energy until it couldn't possibly hold anymore. The process lasted for about 5-7 years, but they never said what happened after all of the energy was used.


Since a dragon in it's Eldunari can't eat to replace lost energy, I would assume that somebody would have to give them some, or they used all of it and died. (Which, considering how strong dragons are, would take a long time.)

No, they addressed the topic. The Eldunari somehow regenerate the magic like if they were living dragons however no-one including Oromis know how they do it. Oromis has some weird theory involving sunlight.

I doubt it, Rhunon considered every way that would make it possible for her to slip past her oaths to make Eragon's sword, and using his body to make it was the only way she could think of that would work.

well can you make another oath to cancel out the other like saying that she will make riders swords again in the AL.

She can't do that her first oath wouldn't let her utter the new oath.

Think about it.
1. You can't get rid of an oath.
2. You have to say an oath in the AL
3. You have to say the truth in the AL
4. So you can't swear an oath to do something, when you know that you won't be able to fulfil that oath because it won't be the truth so you won't be able to say it.

Does anyone else think that even though it is possible for Arya to be the next dragon rider (and i want her to be), that Elva could be the next one?...apparently she is supposed to have a major part in the next book and I was thinking about this as possible

ALMOST is the key word though. This may be what CP wanted us to think. People say there hasn't been any elf rider but there is/was Oromis and Glaeder and they help alot if you hadn't noticed.
