Which race do you think will have the next Rider?

If you have read Inheritance, then continue reading. If you have not, or you have not finished it, then why are you reading this forum? Go read your book, so that you can enjoy the plot without spoilers! Alright, so now that that is out of the way... We all should know that Arya was the newest Rider, and that Eragon, using the Name of Names, rewrote the spell that creates the chance for eggs to hatch for different races, amending it to allow Dwarves and Urgals to have riders in their Races. So, the pressing question: Of the Races included in the spell, who will have the egg hatch first? _________________ The worth is in the act. I'm not sure it will be relevant. Assuming that he chooses to write about another Rider. I'd be more excited to see a book set some-hundred years after Galbatorix bit it, in which case xwon would be right and there would be numerous Riders from each of the races. However, if it does get mentioned, I think it will be the dwarves. I wonder if the spell will make dwarf Riders taller, like it changes human Riders to look like elves... Well presumably a conflict wouldn't arise as soon as Eragon left for wherever he was going, as they had just defeated Galbatorix, thus giving time for new DR's but they will probably remain wherever Eragon is. Probably some other race will attack Alagasia, and thus has the new DR's plus Murt? It wouldn't have to be a major conflict. Although I just thought of something I should have realized before my earlier post... Those two chicks from Brisingr. CP has hinted at a story about them, in which case the new Alagaesia story wouldn't be that far forward in the timeline. Hmmm... I'm not sure there will be DR in the new books. (At least not if he immediately writes about that woman with the scars and the sword-chick.) Remember the part where Eragon is about to heal Elva of her curse? (In Brisingr.) He was walking along heading to do that, and when he was almost there, he walked up on Angela casting the dragon knucklebones for two people. One was a middle-aged woman with really bad scars around her wrists (like she had been chained up and struggled a lot.) Lol, if he was ever able to write a series with a main character who was a dwarf or some other race, I would have to applaud. He would be writing from a cultural standpoint that doesn't even exist, can you imagine how difficult that would be? Those 2 women appeared in this book. the older one helped Roran at one point. the younger one, i think Saphira called her Bladesinger. anyway, i voted for an urgal to be the next rider. i think they would be the strongest riders. they are stronger than humans and the Kull are stronger even than the elves and have more endurance. that's why their magic would be strong. also they have that hunger for blood, for fighting. they enjoy it. at some point in one of the books Saphira told eragon that if he would enjoy fighting as much as she did, no one would be able to stand against them. so i think the urgals are too dangerous to be Riders, but it's not my book... also i'm curious about the physical changes the dwarf and urgal riders will suffer. urglas will look funny with elvish traits and their horns. ooo and maybe the dwarves will change and become like hobbits(they have elvish ears).

Lol, well I wasn't going to mention them turning up in Inheritance, but I suppose it's pointless not to, considering the much larger spoiler at the top of the page. XD Yeah, I'm a little hesitant about Urgal Riders. (savage isn't the best word, but i'm too tired to think in a foreign language right now, but you get the point)

Though, honestly the two new races just don't seem fit for riderhood, I mean, urgals would have to wait a lot longer for their dragon to be able to hold them up, and dwarves are just plain scared of heights. They weren't natural, as in they weren't originally in the spell, but they didn't have a long history of conflict with the dragons like the dwarves did. The stories have mentioned a longstanding mistrust of dragons by the Dwarves, as the dragons raided them and destroyed their crops. But as the king, Orik approved of the idea and it's going to go through whether the other dwarves like it or not. If a dragon does choose a dwarf then it will for the right reasons. Even if the dwarf is afraid of heights, the bond with their dragon would help ease that or make it go away all together. The only bond I'm really worried about is the one with the Urgals. If the rider turns out to be bad or something then he could be the one to lead an attack on humans or elves. But on the other hand if one does hatch for an Urgal, the rider could be the one to keep the urgals in check. It is a risk with Urgals but I think that the dragons will actually help to calm them. Look how much they loved to fight but they have the wisdom to calm the Urgals as none had to help them at the time. Agreed, I think the dwarves were long overdue for being joined with dragons. And as a whole, the dragon race became gentler after they joined themselves with the elves. (Although the wild one's were still buck wild.) So if an Urgal were to join with one, I don't think it would be that bad. On Inheritance Wikkia there is already mention of a fifth book set in the same world at a slightly later date. I am partially indifferent to having every race included on the pact. I didn't like that we didn't actually get to see the binding. It can be good or bad really. It can help bring all the races together and stop the onslaught of the Urgals or it can make things worse. Some power hungry or war loving Urgal might have an egg hatch for him and want to use that power to go to war but you never know. As Nar Garzvhog said, he can't really promise that the later generations would keep with their word and stop attacking towns. I would hope a dragon's senses would allow it to not make a choice like that. It's definitely going to be interesting in having to pass the eggs around to the different races.
