Since Eragon lost Zar'oc to Murtagh, how do you think he'll get his new sword. According to Solembum, The Menoa Tree has something to do with the new sword. But then again, That one Elf Smith person (forgot name) who was the greatest smith or something might make Eragon's new weapon.

I think that under the roots of the Menoa Tree means family roots. So Eragon will get his sword from Linnea's family.

that is a very good point considering that three familys got the riders swords. that could be a reason she wont make them anymore. she could've had a husband that was a rider and he could've been killed by galby or the fornsworn

No, it just has to be in her family. Remember, Linnea was living before Du Fern Skulblaka. And there were 2 families which have riders' swords.

I'm voting neither because, my theory from the beginning was the the smith would make it, and probably lose their immortality in doing so. Arya would probably find out about it, and I believe eragon told arya, so maybe she'll put it there.

Second, Linnea was the one who binded herself to the mennoa tree right? (sorry haven't read the book for a while)

Third, If second is true, then it means that Eragon can't get the sword from linnea's family because she had no decendents. I remember that clearly.

Fourth, I see you are talking about two swords that were held be elvin families, I think you got the swords mixed up with the ones from the forsworn. I remember that it said that the smith said (confusing isn't it?) that she only thought 3 of her works remained, Oromisis sword, and 2 taken by families of the forsworn.

Fifth: If fourth is right, many of you might say, well some of the forsworn could have been elves. They couldn't have or Galby would already know the location of the elves from them and might have already attacked the elves.

She had family members. Elven families are also kind of like Dwarven clans. and the families rescued swords FROM the forsworn. The elves have the 2 swords. It IS apparent that you haven't read the book in a while.

It says guarded by families. I am sure it is not elf famiies but human because it seems as though the elfs haven't gone out of their forest. Only 3 elves went out of the forest. Glenwing, Folain, and Arya, and it seems as though the forsworn would have died in the Empire and not in the forest, so it must be held by two human families.

I remeber that there were still 13 forsworn when alby became king which is when the Elves ran away so I highly doubt that the elves got the swords. besides, I don't think they would be massicirded because many people would think of the swords as an evil omen or would not want to have anything to do with the forsworn. Inheritance in the first book was mozans sword to eragon or eragon became a dragon rider like his father if it was brom or morzan, and in the second book, it was the zarroc going from Eragon to Murtagh

He'll get by the Menoa Tree and that is related to the family's of Linnea and that family gives him the sword. Besides the Elf Smith made a vow that she would never make another Rider's sword ever again.

that doesnt make sense. have you read the books? he needs his sword for close combat in battles and when he faces Murtaugh and Galbatorix. He cant just kill everyone with magic. he doesnt use the evil magic like galby or Murtaugh.

he could use magic but magic takes up alot of energy. he could use the energy from galbatorix's army, but galbatorix would probably do the same thing.

most of the army and Murtaigh and galby for sure have wards so he cant just use his bow, HE NEEDS A SWORD

The elf smith dindt vow to just not make riders swords again, if you had payd attention when you read the chapter "Under the Menoa Tree" you would have understood that she still makes armor and stuff but after Galby and the fornsworn betrayed the riders she vowed to never make a sword again. i think she stated it as Weapons of murder or something.. dont have book infront of me.
