Murtagh said saphira was the last female dragon, and that she had to mate with the last egg because it was male. What is wrong with Thorn? Is it a she-male or something neutral like that?

I had the same thought, i just finished reading Eldest today and the thought struck me why cant Saphira mate with Thorn? Maybe its because he isn't right for her?

If they fight each other in the last book, I don't think that they will want to mate. Would you marry someone that tried to kill you?lol No one get angry. They probably won't mate because Saphira will have so many bad experiences about Thorn and her fighting and trying to kill each other. It might be the same for Thorn, if Eragon can save him and Murtagh.

I don't think it will be because then it will be three Riders against two and I think that Oromis will already be dead when Eragon gets back to Ellesmera. Then it would be three against one. I don't really like them odds. The only reason I suggest them is what Solembum said to Eragon and Angela's prophecy.

That's because black is absence of light and allegories of such come up as: Dark arts, dark thoughts, dark soul, ect.

Red is the color associated with the devil, with blind passion, murder, blood.

So I guess that might be a reason why CP decided to give Thorn the red coloring, soo, my question would be Is Thorn realy evil? Will Murtagh end up all evil?

Exactly the point I was going for. I hope that Thorn and Murtagh aren't all evil because then Eragon won't have but one member of his family alive. And Roran won't live forever. Eragon would be alone. If he had children that didn't become Riders, he would outlive them by far. Who wants to live forever? I wouldn't. And I'm just fourteen.

about how saphira will mate when thorn if they capture her and eragon is that they might drug her asleep and thats how he will mate w/ her.. just my opinion.. ( thats if they can catch her and eragon )

well wouldnt it be as easy to put some1 to sleep or knock them uncounsense (sp) like what eragon did to that guy when he was in jail rescusing arya? they could just to that to saphira

like u said earlier it takes the same ammount of energy to do somthing w/o magic as it does to do it with magic.. so i dont think it would take to much energy to hit a dragon on the head a couple of times to knock them out.. u are making this very complacated... lol

I in turn am saying that: 1) great amts of sedative would be needed 2) if the 4 of them would be involved in using magic, they would all drop dead (best solution) and 3) Saphira would put up quite a fight before she would allow them to knock her on the head.

Summarizing, it wouldn't work! That's not complicated at all!

hmmm.. well if her and eragon get captured then yes.. with thorn but if they never do, then im thinking with "greenie" cuz shruikan and glaedr are to old for her.. so it just depends on what happens.. but i will know what happens before most people because my moms friend works at borders and i get the books like a month or two before it comes out in stores as a advanced readers copy.. thats how i got eldest in june last summer...

*On the subject of drugging Saphira*, Do you realize how many pounds of roofy it would take to knock a dragon out? I don't know and I don't want to know. I think she won't mate til' the very end of the book when all the excitement is done and over with. With whom she mates, I'm as clueless as the rest of you folks.
