 Durza's Return Through Eragon's Scar?
Remember that scar he had after the battle in the Varden, the one that caused him to faint numerous times? Well, i was thinking...what if Durza hid himself in that scar and waited until the perfect moment to take over Eragon or some other powerful figure with access to magic? He could "see" everything Eragon thanks to the fact he was magically connected to Eragon...think of the scar as more of a magical parasite. Shades are powerful magicians, so I wouldn't put it past them to have this ability. My theory is that after Eragon was "blessed", Durza's spirit could've escaped and possessed Oromis unknowingly. Through magic, or whatever plot device, Oromis' strength is restored and his dragon's limbs are restored. The teacher thus becomes the tool, and Eragon must face a Shade Dragon Rider along with Galbatorix. Ouch. It's just a thought, but I think it could work...if Paolini wants it to.

Honestly, this doesn't make any sense: the scar was removed by the elves magic or somesuch, Durza was dead long before then, and Shades can't transfer their spirits, right? Even if they did "transfer" which could make some sense(the unusual nature of the wound), he was still purifed/healed.

Hmmmmm... I think you may have the stories confused. It was Harry Potter who was able to sense his archenemy, Voldemort, through his scar.
As Kotor pointed out, through the gift of the dragons, Eragon's scar was healed, as all his injuries.
This is confirmed during the conversation Eragon and Murtagh have on the plateau during the battle of the Burning Plains. He clearly tells Murtagh he no longer has the scar. Check it out in the book.
