Almost all exploration was done by ships, foot, or on some sort of animal. ;)
But I see your point, I'm just being nitpicky :P

I know how it is silver, when I was about yea high I helped Al Gore invent the internet.

yes, but without the wheel, how wud the materials to make those been transported? also, without the wheel, who knows how long it might've take us to discover inland areas, where they aren't always accessible by sea, and walking the distance would be futile?
