i think the egg will hatch for possibly roran elva for somebody new because it would be intresting for c.p to write up a new charcter.

if CP made a new character and made them the rider, then we would have no background, and neither would the varden. the next rider will be arya, she is the most experienced, and she already knows about magic, and is very far in it. all she would need to know is the secrets of the dragon riders

yeah but it would be odd if eragon was teaching arya the secrets of the riders she's more the teacher of eragon the nthe over way.

it doesn't matter, if the dragon isn't trained, it won't be able to fight, and there's no time to train it in the middle of a battle. if it hatches before this war is over, it will die. which is why it will probably hatch in the epilogue, and then who cares who it hatches for.

i think a dragon would want to bond with roran because if he shared that kind of conection to the dragon he has with katrina a dragon would love to share a metal bond with him and they know he would care for them.
i say this because we know dragons have a predetermined rider and i belive if they have any choice in the matter they will pick someone who will care for them e.g eragon is caring about other things and saphira hatched for him galbatorixs cared for his first dragon so it hatch for him then it dies and he goes mad in grief because he cares so much.

i just had a thought...what if it did hatch for roran, but then it hated katrina. lol that would get interesting

yeah dragons can be really spiteful like saphira ( espeially female ones).

but he knows no magic he cant even lift a pebble, so to put him in battle against murt and galby would kill him. Arya is a different story, she could outdue eragon (without glaedr) in a duel of strength (magically). all she needs to know is the dragon rider's secrets. ARYA WILL BE THE NEXT RIDER!!!!!!!!!! Also Roran doesn't want to be the rider, he just wants to go back to his farm and rebuild it

Exacatly DuBrisingrEbrithil! That is what I've been trying to say to these people! Greenie doesn't know that Roran wants to farm, NOT be a Rider. But Roran won't have a choice IF Greenie hatches for him. Arya has talent yes, BUT she already is strong enough where she doesn't need a dragon EXCEPT to ride into battle on. And anyway, the dragon wiuld have to grow B4 it can go flying into battle against Galbatorix.

Arya gets the egg, and while it takes like three months to learn and prepare for the final battle, arya learns from eragon.

exactly what i've been saying it like when saphira hatched for eragon once a dragon hatchs for you your a rider forever.

but the way CP has described it and my theory in the information center, the egg has hatched by this point in book 4, wherever he is in it, makes arya the only one valid for becoming the rider.

which is why roran won't go near the egg

he's can't predict the future mate so he will probaly find it by accident

I don't want it to be destroyed, but if does go after the battle, IDK who it goes to. If its destroyed, then the dragon race will be Saphira, and Thorn, and any other wild ones.

ya, his thoughts usually lean towards deyja, and eragon+arya=never gonna happen. though i think it is gonna happen, and roran will not be a rider, which i agree with.

i don't think roran will be a rider either, because, CP really knows how to build something up and then spin it in the opposite direction.

well the book says that the color of a dragon is the color of the chosen rider. and they use green to describe arya every now and again.
