Depends what she's like. And what you're like. If she's the emotional type, speak face to face. Say you don't think it's working out, or you don't think you should go out anymore, then hug her and walk away. That's always difficult. You should ask her out if you want to. If you break up, do it in a nice way, and you can still be friends. If she is a true friend, she won't be mad at you if you break up.
