I have always been wondering why the ceries is called the Inheritence Cycle. Would someone care to explain?

Isn't it because Eragon inherits some stuff?

well i think it's called Inheritance Cycle because every Rider is inheritant of a long cycle of Riders, each of them inherited knowledge and power of riders.
so the first rider left an egg behind him and the next rider inherited it and so on...

Well, remember that Murtagh't sword was Morzan's sword, and there-fore it was hit inheritance, so I think that that has something to do with it.

I think Murtagh will redeem himself by saving Eragon when he fight Galby and then Murtagh and Thorn die but as good guys.

if they must die, then i hope they'll die on the good side, trying to save Eragon and Saphira.

Murtagh isn't evil. he just hasn't got a choice (well death but who would choose it?)

Well, he could have allowed himself to be captured not killed. It would be out of his hands, and if he didn't oppose then Galby could do nothing about it.

if he allowed himself to be captured, he would be killed.
by vardens or by galby (he would noticed that he is not back , wouldn't he )

But if he thought Murtagh was still on his side he wouldn't have time to go after him, but wouldn't want to kill an ally.

Who Galbatorix or Murtagh. Murtagh did say that he would do anythign to get away from Galbatorix and keep Thorn safe.

I believe he is hiding in his castle because there is no need for him to attack yet, he doesn't care about the death of his people at all

Yeah. There's a big theory on other forums that involes Murt truning on Galby.... And also a milloin therorys about why Galby dosn't leave his castle. My fav: Galby has a cruch on Nasu and dosn't want to hurt her, so he stays ion his castle, to depressed and shamed to leave.

C.p has made each book about inherting something:
eragon-in this we see eragon inherit the riders mantle
eldest: we see murtagh get his farthers sword eragon gets broms ring but he does not know its his fathers.
brisingr: eragon gains a new sword and a farith of his mother and the fact brom is his father
book 4: C.p has indercate in interview such as the one at the end of the audiobook done by gerard doyle that the next book will have alot to do with inhretence and if you read brisingr carefuly you might be able to guess.
