I think galby doesn't get his power from the slaves because remeber he uncovered some thing that should not have been revealed and that he gets his power from that

i reckon he drains it frm laves, cos no where in the books does it says you are allowed to store more power in urself, it only says that ou are not allowed to exceed that power it a spell

ya, that sumtin i thought about, with saphira's energy he was using it right then, so he did not absorb it then wait 3 hours then do the spell, so you have to store it sum place... maybe he made himslef into a little chunk of magic, you, like a wraith or sumtin.

imagine that when eragon opens the vault of souls he bring back someone from that dead to help him beat galby. and then if they beat galby the person he brought back would be stay even after the fight. like have a second life

ok, the vault of souls is where eragon goes when all hope is lost, mabye dead people have energy and give it to them (vault of souls) to kill galby then they come back because galby magic exiled them to the void

maybe it retores his energy and brings back a dead person to help him

I've always thought that Brom, Oromis, and even Saphira know relevant and important information about Eragon and his true origins. What name will he use, how he finds out which is his true name, is still yet to be known. I have combed (and continue to do so) trying to find clues or hidden meanings that I may have missed to no avail. Since we do not know when the last book will be released I gather I still have time to continue with my search.

As I said, (can't remember in what forum topic) the Vault of Souls will give Eragon something that not even Galbatorix, with all his stolen magical powers, with all the pacts he may have done with the dead spirits, with all the black magic he knows, will be able to surpass. The prophecy said "when all seems lost" so there will be a moment when Eragon, the Vaden, the Dwarfs and the Elves will be losing to Galbatorix and Murtag, thus the Empire. The prophecy continues, "and your power is insufficient" this only confirms my thought that Eragon is going to be in a bad shape, and "power" magical, physical, strategic wise, troop wise, they all can be part of this power but it will not be enoughh to defeat Galbatorix and his minions. ..."go to the Rock of Kuthian and speak your name to open the Vault of Souls." so if Eragon has another name, or if this is his only name, I don't know. The fact that he carries the name of the elf who brought peace between dragons and elves seems to be very important to the story line.

Yes, Arya said the same thing to him when he told her about the prophecy. AND since Saphira and Solembaum seam to be so friendly with each other I bet he told Saphira, and she knows about it.

We need to keep in mind that Saphira knows a lot of things that she has not shared with Eragon either by secrecy oaths or only until the right time comes to divulge it.

I don't know... When Murtagh and Eragon confront each other in battle, Murtagh says: "Galbatorix taught me things about magic you've never dreamed of... Spells so powerful. the elves dare not utter them, cowards that they are. Words in the ancient language that were lost until Galbatorix discovered them. Ways to manipulate energy... Secrets, terrible secrets that can destroy your enemies and ffulfill all your desires." (Eldest, P 647)
So it is left to the reader to presume that Galbatorix found the and has the knowledge of that which was not known. It's a scary thought!

No, the book just states that: "... Eragon found the egg and saw the value of raising a friendly dragon..." (Eragon, P 50)

Who said it was found in the Vault of Souls? The Vault of Souls was mentioned in page 50 of Eragon and only between Saphira and Eragon. It was not mentioned again in Book 1, if my memory serves me right. Just now my brains are fried and I cannot think straight.

Eragon only knows a little about the vault of souls, pretty much all he knows is that something is there. Angela tells Eragon about this in book 1. The only other one who speaks of it is Saphira but she doesn't know much either.

You know, if you go back to the book, Eragon page 207, it says; "Angela tilted her head, coils of her dense hair shadowing her forehead. "I don't know what he said, and I don't want to know. He spoke to you and only you. Don't tell anyone else." Eragon does not know anything about the Vault of Souls, other than what Solembum told him. AND besides Saphira, to whom he told the full content, he metioned it to Arya later in Book 2. As it stands, no one else knows, not even Oromis. So the reader is left to wonder what and where is the Vault of Souls and all the other questions that keep us all glued to the forum.

How ironic would it be if it turns out to be that the Vault of Souls has the spell to free Shrukan from the power that binds him to Galbatorix and the dragon would turn against him and slay him in revenge for Galbatorix killing his original rider?

Then there will be sovereign dragon with wrecked mind...if you are near crazy you must turn crazy too (at least a bit)...and we will have new enemy maybe even more powerful
